vying with one another in the construction of magnificent buildings
| ||||||||
By: Mr Feras Nour Al-Hak With an addition By: Magdy Abd Al-Shafy Islam is the last religion to be sent to the world , every religion had proofs that authenticated its Divine source . God foreordained that Islam would be the last message to the world , so it must comprise many miracles that could be categorized under six categories , among them in this age , being the age of science , what is termed as the scientific miracles which science has recently proved them amazingly . let alone the scientific miracle , as we are going to talk about the unseen matters news . Prophet Mohummed had depicted and given prophecies concerning our generation and the many generation to come . In fact , these prophecies which can't be easily enumerated , have come true . As to the miracle of the unseen news , prophet Mohummed gave a large number of them ; some of them happened during his life , others directly after his death . Every age witnessed the fulfilment some of these . The large portion of these prophecies go to our age . Insha Allah , we will tackle these in the coming studies. Some of these prophecies , as prophet Mohummed determined , are portents of the of the doomsday . we ,now , are approaching that day according to the Devine calculation . The miracle of the unseen tackled that the different phases of life , these tackled the social life , economic life , techmological life , political strifes and wars . Though ther are fearful , they prove the true phrophethood of prophet Mohummed . What we are giving here are just two portents that reflect the social and economic life .The Bedouins , in the life of prophet Mohummed , used to lead a very simple life . They used to live in very simple houses out of mud and palm leaves . The discovery of oil made a revolution in every thing in the life of the bedouin . Contraray to the life they used to lead , they ,now , live in very tall structures but even they compete in building very high structures a picture of a tall building in the arabia Here are two Hadith ( traditional sayings of prophet mohummed ) that talk about two prophecies that have come true . It is narrated in Sahih Muslim that Allah's Apostle (peace be upon him) said to his companions ( through a long conversation about the signs of the last hour) ask me but the companions of the prophet embarrassed to ask him. Then there appeared before us a man and sat with the Apostle (peace be upon him) He knelt before him placed his palms on his thighs and said: Muhammad, inform me about al-Islam. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: Al-Islam implies that you testify that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah, and you establish prayer, pay Zakat, observe the fast of Ramadan. He (the inquirer) said: You have told the truth. He (the inquirer) said: Inform me about Iman (faith). He (the Holy Prophet) replied: That you affirm your faith in Allah, in His angels, in His Books, in His Apostles, in the Day of Judgment, and you affirm your faith in the Divine Decree about good and evil. He (the inquirer) said: You have told the truth. He (the inquirer) again said: Inform me about al-Ihsan (performance of good deeds). He (the Holy Prophet) said: That you worship Allah as if you are seeing Him, for though you don't see Him, He, verily, sees you. He (the enquirer) again said: Inform me about the hour (of the Doom). He (the Holy Prophet) remarked: One who is asked knows no more than the one who is inquiring (about it). He (the inquirer) said: Tell me some of its indications. He (the Holy Prophet) said: That the slave-girl will give birth to her mistress and master, that you will find barefooted, destitute goat-herds vying with one another in the construction of magnificent buildings .
1. When a slave (lady) gives birth to her master. 2. When the shepherds of black camels start boasting and competing with others in the construction of higher buildings. And the Hour is one of five things which nobody knows except Allah. The Prophet then recited: "Verily, with Allah (Alone) is the knowledge of the Hour..." (31. 34) Then that man (Gabriel) left and the Prophet asked his companions to call him back, but they could not see him. Then the Prophet said, "That was Gabriel who came to teach the people their religion." Abu 'Abdullah said: He (the Prophet) considered all that as a part of faith.

Antwan Alsahkar-From a Christian Marxist to an Islamic a pologist
| ||||
By AL-Sadek Alosmani Translated by :Ahmad fawzi shamsi Revised by Magdy Abd Al-SHafy
These words summarize the story of the Islamic propagandist Antwan Al-Ashkar, who was a member in the Brazilian communistic party, and devoted his life to Marxism and Leninism. He was born in 1971, in Santos in St.pawlo State , and he works as an overseer in the kosher system, which belongs to the Islamic calling center.
In this period, he became an active member in the Brazilian communistic party and a believer in the Poor's rights and a rejecter of the Capitalistic authority. He says: "I used to distribute the leaflets of Lenin, Marx, Angle, and Stalin, which led me to be assigned as a head of the cultural department, and the official spokesman to the Brazilian communistic party, in my school. I always said: Our hearts are red, i.e. man is created as a communist by nature. In the late of 1980s, the Brazilian communistic party nominated Mr. Baulo Freri to the presidency , and I was his right hand in the elections, as I was a believer in Marxism. From Om Calthoom to Islam I turned to Islam when I started to listen to the Arabic songs, like Om Calthoom and others, which motivated me to learn Arabic. Ashkar said. I was with my friend in one day, and we were listening to Abd Alhalim, an Arabic singer, and through these Arabic songs I wanted to learn Arabic in order to understand the meanings of these songs. I asked my friend to help me in learning Arabic. Therefore, he took me to a Mosque in Tawtaih. There, the Sheik, with his elegant Arabic cloth, received us. At that time, I was blessed by his speech and his ability to convince, to the extent that I thought that he was a Marxist. He was called Sheik Muhammad Hassan Aref Ajjaj from Syria . At that time, I started in learning Arabic with him. Producing the two testimonies in Saudi Arabia Kingdom Through these atmospheres, Ashkar started to be familiar in Islam. He started in asking about its meaning and what it implies. He says: I started to compare, in myself, between Christianity and Marxism in one side, and Islam in the other side. Finally, I professed Islam as a religion, consciously and with love feelings, and for many reasons, such as the ability to find your God easily, without an intermediary. And when My servant question thee concerning Me, then surely I am nigh. I answer the prayer of the suppliant when he crieth unto Me. So let them bear My call and let them trust in Me, in order that they may be led aright.(1:186) Ashkar produced the two testimonies and observed himself in the religious duties during his participation in the session series which was prepared by the Saudi Arabia Kingdom , in Brasilia , and then he entered the Islamic university, in Almadina Almunawara in order to study Islam deeply. Ashkar says" I spent 8 years in Saudi Arabia Kingdom , and then I came back to Brazil as a pologist to do my responsibilities towards my religion. Thus, I have started in giving lectures about Islam in the schools and universities even in the Masonic Clubs and the Jewish Temples, because of the absolute religious freedom, which is protected by the Brazilian law. But, Ashkar faces a lot of obstacles from those who refuse his being in the Islamic Call especially by this time, in which Islam is related to violence. Furthermore, some Brazilians return back to their religion after becoming Muslims. Nevertheless, Ashkar still goes on in his calling motivation in the schools and Mosques and Universities. Add to this, his activity on the internet. The Fall of evangelism in Egypt
| ||
Translated By Amira Sharawi Revised By Magdy Abd Al-Shafy He obtained a diploma from the Evangelical Theological College in Cairo in 1948, then a master degree in philosophy and theology from Princeton University in 1952. Then he returned to Egypt where he was assigned to be a pastor in the Evangelical Church and a professor of theology and beliefs in the college of theology in Assiut, southern Egypt , till the year 1953. Then he was promoted to be a general secretary of the German-Swiss consignment in the city of Aswan and an evangelizer for Muslims who live between Assiut and Aswan till the year 1955. Ibrahim khalil Ahmad talks about the story of his conversion to Islam and says: “one evening in 1955, I heard the Quran through the radio and listened to the Quranic verses: “Say (O Muhammad): "It has been revealed to me that a group of jinn listened (to this Quran). They said: ‘Verily, we have heard a wonderful Recitation (this Quran). It guides to the Right Path, and we have believed therein, and we shall never join (in worship) anything with our Lord.” (Al-jinn 1-2). These two verses were a sacred flame that enlightened my mind and heart and inspired them to search for the truth. In this evening I kept reading the Quran until sunrise, as if the Quranic verses were a glittering light and as if I were surrounded with light. Then I read the Quran for a second, third and fourth time until I found the Quranic verse: “Those who follow the Messenger, the Prophet who can neither read nor write whom they find written with them in the (Torah) and the (Gospel), - he commands them for Al-Ma‘rûf (i.e. all that Islam has ordained); and forbids them from Al-Munkar (i.e. all that Islam has forbidden); he allows them as lawful At-Tayyibât (i.e. all good and lawful things), and prohibits them as unlawful Al-Khabâ’ith (i.e. all evil and unlawful things), he releases them from their heavy burdens and from the fetters (bindings) that were upon them. So those who believe in him, honour him, help him, and follow the light which has been sent down with him, it is they who will be successful.” (Al-a’araf 157). From this verse, I decided to do a free study of the Bible and in order to have enough time to do it and free the suspicions I had in my mind towards the Bible and to be honest with myself, I decided to resign and leave my work as a priest and as a general secretary of the American and German consignments in Aswan. When I carried out my decision and started to feel the light of right brightening in my heart, a group of doctors from the same church, which I used to serve and be served by and take care of hundreds of its adherents just a few days ago , conspired against me claiming that I was mad ! I kept steady and patient, having all trust in God (Allah) and traveled to Cairo , where I worked in (standard stationary) for desktop & geometric tools. During my work in this company, the director, who was Christian, asked me to print part A’mma (part 30) of the Holy Quran as a commercial task. I promised to accomplish this work. He thought I was Muslim and I thanked God he did not discover my Christianity. For me, this assignment was an Islamic study, free from diplomacy, until God opened my heart to Islam and I found it necessary to resign as a first step to announce my conversion to Islam. Actually, I resigned in 1959 and established a private commercial bureau in my specialization (desktop & geometric tools). Thank God I succeeded in my new work.
When things became stable and when I felt the honesty of my conversion from atheism to monotheism and when I was able to understand my new religion and when it dominated me, I sent a telegraph to the American consignment ,which I worked for in Heliopolis informing it that I believed in Allah The One and in Muhammad (may Allah send His peace and blessings on him ) as His prophet and messenger .Then I proposed a request to the governorate to carry out the procedures of my conversion to Islam and my name was changed from “Ibrahim Khalil Phillips” to “Ibrahim Khalil Ahmad”.The decision also included changing my children’s names as follows: Ishaak to Osama, Samuel to gamal and Magda to Nagwa. Then the sheikh says: “my wife left me immediately after she denounced my and my children’s conversion to Islam and announcement of monotheism. Also, the foreign houses that dealt in desktop tools decided not to deal with me because they all belonged to Egyptian and foreign Christians, therefore I closed my commercial bureau and worked as a clerk in a company for 15 pounds per month, while my salary, before, used to be not less than 80 pounds per month! During this period , I studied the prophet’s biography (al-sera al-nabawiyya) and its study was a mercy and condolence to me, as the consignment declared war against me with all its spreading influence allover Egypt and I was fired from that humble job, the American clients were able to turn the director of the company against me and he dismissed me from work . I stayed after this without work for three months, till I was appointed in the supreme council for Islamic affairs after I gave a lecture entitled “why have I converted to Islam?” Then Ibrahim Khalil Ahmad laughs with much sorrow and much more irony and says: My new work gave me the chance to serve my new religion and to defend it and reveal the atheism, polytheism and misleading that lie in my previous religion and I gave tens of scientific lectures, supported by religious and academic evidence, in comparative religions. I toured the mosques in Alexandria, Al-mahalla, Assiut, Aswan and other Egyptian governorates and cities, trying to get my sins expiated and continuing all day and night to call in the cause of God, until the church was shaken as a result because of these lectures after knowing that a lot of Christian youth converted to Islam with complete conviction. The church, immediately, enticed the responsible bodies against me even that the ministry of Awqaf and the interior ministry asked me to stop giving lectures or I would be subjected to the application of the law of “national unity”, accusing me of causing riots and arousing sedition. He stops talking sadly, then he says: This forced me to decide to immigrate to the kingdom of Saudi Arabia , where I put all my expertise in the service of the faculty of call and fundamentals of Islam there. Then he comes back to the reasons, he stated before, for his conversion to Islam explaining them and saying: Belief must stem from the heart first; in fact, believing in Islam stepped to my heart over long periods, in which I read the Holy Quran and the history of the prophet, May Allah send His peace and blessings upon him, trying to find even one evidence capable of convincing me that Muhammad, that simple, poor and illiterate man could cause alone this revolution that changed the history of the world and is still changing it. The system of monotheism in Islam stopped me a lot, being the most distinguishing characteristic of Islam: “ There is nothing like Him ” (Al-shura 11), “ He is Allah, the One * Allah the Self -Sufficient Master, Whom all creatures need” ( Al-ikhlas 1-2). And the sheikh raises his head, pondering in the sky, and says: Yes, monotheism makes me a servant only to God and not to any human being, monotheism here librates man and makes him uncontrolled by any human being and this is the real freedom as being a servant should be only for Allah. The system of forgiveness in Islam is so great, as the principal rule of belief is based on the direct contact between the servant and God. Man in Islam repents only to Allah; there are no mediators, no instruments of atonement and no holy recognition because the relationship between man and his God is direct. He ends his talk, with his tears rolling down, saying: “I felt a deep psychological comfort while I was reading the Holy Quran and I was stopped by the Holy verse: “ Had We sent down this Quran on a mountain, you would surely have seen it humbling itself and rent asunder by the fear of Allah. Such are the parables which We put forward to mankind that they may reflect.” (Al-hashr 21). “ Verily, you will find the strongest among men in enmity to the believers (Muslims) the Jews and those who are atheists and you will find the nearest in love to the believers (Muslims) those who say: "We are Christians." That is because amongst them are priests and monks, and they are not proud.* And when they (who call themselves Christians) listen to what has been sent down to the Messenger (Muhammad, peace be upon him), you see their eyes overflowing with tears because of the truth they have recognised. They say: "Our Lord! We believe; so write us down among the witnesses.” (Al-ma’idah 82-83 ). Because of all of this I took the decision to announce my conversion to Islam. Also, I have to call for Islam after I was one of its strongest enemies, as I studied Islam, in the beginning, just to know how to challenge and fight it! But, this had a reverse result, my position began to shake and I felt an internal conflict between me and myself. I discovered that all what I used to say to people and evangelize them according to, is false (fake), lie and fantasy. |
The Holy Quran Refutes Atheism
| ||
By: Dr. Salama Abdel-Hady Translation Revised by : Magdy Abd Al-SHafy Are we created with a Creator? Had this Creator addressed us through a scientific and logical approach that may suit our age of knowledge? The answer is given through 17 miraculous verses mentioned successively in Surat Al'Wakihah in the Quran. Quran is the word of the God “Allah”, that was revealed to His last prophet “Mohammad”, in the light of the history to guide the humanity at the time of its maturity. Mohammed is considered by the Muslims as a man who received from the Creator a message or a religion called “the Islam.” Such Quran guides them to know Allah and leads them to have a successful life and to perform ideally their role on the earth. The meaning of the word “Islam” is “the complete obedience and submissiveness to God”. Muslims know Allah through His Mercy and Wise, but they believe that He is beyond the abilities of their imagination or vision. Quran can be viewed from a scientific point of view as a sustaining proof that assures the truth of Mohammed’s message, since its wording is different from the traditional wording of people. Any one, who reads or understands the Koran, will find that its source cannot be a man who was born in a Bedouin culture since more than fourteen centuries. But it is surely revealed from the Creator of the man and the universe, Who has unlimited and infinite science and knowledge regarding all His creations. We can find that our modern sciences concerning our universe and ourselves help us to have a more perfect and deeper understanding of the verses of the Koran. We can see such a vision in the following verses which are found in a Surah of the Quran with the title “Al-Wakihah” (the day of resurrection). Allah leads us by these verses through a series of logic questions to assure a certain fact “We are created and He is our Creator”. So, the first verse states the following question: “We (Allah) have created you, so why you don’t believe that.” (57/56) (The verse number 57 from Surat Al-Wakihah[i] Now, let us read the answer of this question in the next verses from Surat Al-Wakihah (verses 57 –75)[ii] God says in the Holy Quran what means " Have you (O’ man) ever seen (or observe and investigate) the semen that you emit (emitted during a man and a woman intercourses), `is it you who create it, or are we the Creator? We have ordained death to you and none of you shall escape it, and We are not to be prevented (or are able) to replacing you with the same kind (or transfigure you), or recreate you in any other form that you haven’t ever known. And indeed, you know the initial form of creation (i.e. the creation of Adam). Have you ever seen (or investigate) the seeds (the source of your food) that you are sowing in the ground and then you feed upon them), is it you whomaster its growth and cultivation (or the characteristics of each plant), or are We the Master? Were it our Will, We could crumble such cultivation to chaff and you would be regretful (or left in wonderment). Then you would say, “We have incurred a loss. Nay. But we are deprived.” Have you ever seen the water you drink (or looked to its sources and cycles)? Is it you who mastered it to be dropped to you from Al –Mozn (from clouds)? Or We are the Master? If it is Our Will, We could leave it salty (in its original form as sea water). Then why aren’t you thanking?
Have you ever seen (or investigate) the fuel (or fire as a source of energy) that is hidden (is hidden during its combustion in your bodies), is it you who constructed its tree (as the factory which produce the source of such fire)? We are Who make it in this way to let you enjoying your strength (through motion and doing effort) and to remind you (with God’s Will). Then (as a conclusion for that proofs), Glorify with praises the Name of Your Lord, The Most Great (56/58-74). As the reader notice the answer in the first verse is given by another four specific questions that motivate our abilities to ponder and have a deep looking. All of them start by four words: “Have you ever seen (or looked at) Of course, being in this century, we have a higher ability to look, search, understand and explain theses verses and discuss their logic through deep scientific procedures. So, I will try to explain these verses from my point of view as an engineer. Of course my explanation or understanding will be limited to my scope of thinking. Of course such understanding is different from the explanation of a man who has deeper knowledge than me. However, I hope the reader will appreciate my trial or approach to explain my limited understanding.[iii] Question 1.a. (is concerned with the origin of our creation): God says in this regard in the Holy Quran what means " Have you ever seen the semen that you emit?" The scientific comment: The Creator leads us in this verse or question to ponder about the starting cell in our formation or creation. By the modern techniques we see the magnificent structure of such cells and what is called the marvelous genetic map. After having the electronic microscopes that can magnify the size of such semen many million times, we can really see it and answer this question scientifically. The man emits a semen and the woman produces ovum [iv], each providing a half of a human cell. By integrating these two halves into one cell in the womb of the woman, it offers an origin for the formation of a complete human creature. Seeing this semen, we find it is a miraculous unit that is responsible for keeping our race, it inherits the features of each race and the peculiarities of the father and the mother into a new birth. Such a completed cell starts to be divided pair by pair and forming the textures and bones of a new creature. We can see such formation and divisions by our magnifying equipment in ordered processes. It is evidence that it is surely designed, created, and guided by Great Creator who arranges for it such formation and mechanisms of subdivision to keep each race. The mechanism of subdivision and the way of unifying the semen of the male and female is fixed in all the human beings and also in all races in a unique manner since He is the same Creator for all these races. The scientists just discovers the discipline of subdivision and the mechanisms of forming different organs, but they do not know how these cells keeps such unique behavior in all creatures and also they do not yet know many secrets of the genetic map in such cells and How the life is gifted to such creatures. Those means as we approach the reality and see the semen, we are faced by more ambiguous or un-answered questions. But the answer is in the first verse we have: “We have created you, so why you don’t believe”. The question asked by the God is to look at this semen is followed by another astonishing question in the following verse: Question 1b: Is it you who create it, or are We the Creator? Hence, can we claim that we creates this semen that is responsible for forming the new birth by features inherited from the mother and father or is it created by itself. Can such genetic map that can be seen in this semen be created by a just chance? Or do we find any one who can claim that he created it. If the God sent a book, the Koran, telling us that We are the creator , so, why not to confess that who really sent these words is the true Creator, since there is no way to deny that fact. The verse that follows is expressing our limited abilities regarding the death. Of course, when we die or loose our life, no one can return it back to our bodies. As it is told in the next verses, the Creator is Who decides for each person the specific time of death and the leaving of his soul (is an ambiguous thing related to the existence of life), as no-one can extend his life. Now we came to the second question: Question 2a: (Is concerned with the source of our food) Have you ever seen (look to and investigate) the seeds (the source of your food) that you are just sowing it in the ground? Scientific comment: The Creator in this question directs our abilities of observing to look to our role in cultivation of plants which is limited to throwing the seeds. Such plants prepare for us the food necessary for our surviving. He creates the plants as autonomous creatures that grow by just the falling rains, and we are non-autonomous creatures that should have such plants to live. These seeds prepare for us the food that suits our creation. The question asked by the God is to look at these seeds. And then this question is followed by another scientific question in the next verse: Question 2b: God says in the Holy Quran what means" Is it you who master its growth and cultivation (or the processes done by each seed), or are We the Master? As we can understand, this verse asks us “Who teaches or guidessuch plants its role in preparation of our food” Our role is just to throw the seeds and wait. But the seed of each plant after its sowing starts to perform specific complicated tasks as if it is well trained to perform it. Looking at the roots of these plants, such roots select and absorb specified salts from the soil. Then the leaves of these plants that start to absorb carbon dioxide from the air and receives the sunrays to perform other complicated processes. Who ordered this seeds and taught them to do these complicated processes and finally to offer us vegetables or fruits that feed us. Have we any role in such tasks?!! May any one claim that he taught these seeds how to perform such tasks? Or, can any one or any group of scientists create such seeds and plan for them to do these tasks. The answer is NO. So, we should confess: Oh God !You are the Master. So, the Creator Who creates such seeds and defines such roles for it, have sent His messengers. Those messengers are normal men who received a revelation to tell us that such arrangements are His doing. Why not to believe such statement and to assure his sayings and to announce: “We believe that we are created. You are our Creator Who arranges for us such suitable feeding by such obeying plants in this ordered mechanism”. In the verses that follows, God shows that as He is able to offer us our food by these obeying plants, He is also able to destroy such plants if it is His Will. Of course we see it is actually done through any diseases, by shortage of water or by any storm or flood sent by Him. And we can do nothing if it is damaged, but just to declare our sorry as we can’t stop such damage. So, why we deny the true Creator Who can really create and who can damage. Now we come to the third question: (Question (3a): is concerned with the water that we drink) God says in the Holy Quran what means " Have you ever seen the water you drink? Scientific comment: In the third question, the Creator directs us to think over the fresh water that we drink. The process of extracting such fresh water from the salty water of the seas and oceans to reach us is a complicated process. God keeps these unlimited stores of salty water in the oceans and the seas. These salts in the water protect the water from being spoilt due to action of bacteria and the limited motion of water in these oceans or seas. The Creator designed also a limited amount of sunrays to warm water on the surface of this oceans or seas and a and keeps a limited movement of wind to form from them the clouds of fresh water-vapors. These clouds are raised up to a height at which its density is balanced through an equal density of the air at high elevations. These clouds start to group and move by the influence of directed winds to selected regions, determined by the God. Such clouds at certain regions lose its balance and are dropped, causing the formation of rivers which supplies us with the water necessary for life . So, the Creator guides us in the third question to look and think how this water is created in a way available to us. To investigate these procedures and arrangements that led to have the fresh water available in our rivers for drinking and surviving the danger of drought . So, we are ordered in this verse to look to the scientific cycle of water on the earth. Of course, by such a look or thinking over we can answer the main question, are we created by a Creator ,who designed for us such a managed cycle to get the fresh water or not. Of course without such water we will not survive. It is the source of irrigating plants too. Let us look at the next verse which envelops this question by a magnificent scientific wording: Question 3b: Is it you who mastered its dropping from Al –Mozn (or from clouds)? Or are We the Master? The Arabic origin of the word Al-Mozn is the balance or equilibrium. It is written here replacing the clouds to show that the clouds are a certain state or phase of the water that exists at such height and density in complete equilibrium with the surrounding atmosphere. If this state of equilibrium is changed, the water is dropped from these clouds. In other words, when these clouds are pushed to certain environmental or atmospheric conditions, such equilibrium is lost and we get the fresh water to be flowing in rivers. Now, can we find an answer for question (3b)? Who masters the formation of the sources of such water (the clouds), and Who masters its dropping into specific areas, in specific times and in specific drinkable conditions by changing its state of Mozn. Can any one claim that he does that? But the Creator of the man announces that it is His Will in His Last revealed word, the Koran. So, why should we not announce the following answer?!!! “We believe that we are created and You, Who sent this Koran, are our Creator”. In the verse that follows this question, the Creator states that as He is able to make the fresh water available to us, He is able too to stop all these processes to supply the fresh water. In this case, there will be available to us only the salty water in the seas and oceans. What can we do? Nothing. So, We should keep thanking Allah for such sustenance and mercy, and then He will keep it for us. These meanings are found in next verses, ended by this order: Then why aren’t you thanking? Let us read the next verse: Question (4a): Is concerned with the source of our energy Have you ever seen (or investigate) the fire (or the combustion that evolves the energy) that is hidden (or that is done but it not seen in your tissues)? Scientific comment: The final question as can be read guides us to think over how our bodies can get the fuel that supplies it with the required energy to move. This fuel is prepared and produced in the trees. The green leaves stores the energy from the sun in a very complicated photo-electro-chemical processes that are expressed in thousands of reactions. We call such reactions by “Photosynthesis Process”. During this process, the leaves of the plants or trees store carbon dioxide from the air and absorbs water from the soil ( through the roots) to form the carbohydrates in our food ( as in some fruits or vegetables ). When we eat the offered food, such carbohydrates is burnt in our bodies with unseen or hided fire and the absorbed energy is released. So our bodies get the energy required to be capable of moving, enjoying our life, and doing the required activities. When we see or look to the mechanisms of energy absorption in the trees and of energy release in our bodies, we will find that both are identical but are done in opposite direction. So, they should have the same Creator. Now, Who arranged all these mechanisms, reactions and processes? Such question is given in the verse that follows. Question (4b )God says in the Holy Quran what means ): Is it you who constructed its tree (as the factory which produce the source of such fire or energy)? We are Who make it in this way to let you enjoying your strength (through motion and doing effort) and to remind you (with God’s Will) Can any one claim that he design and produce the green leaves of the plants or trees to perform such complicated tasks to absorb the solar energy. And then he designs our cells to be capable of restoring such energy by combustion in a hidden manner to enjoy the use of the strength of our muscles. Of course the answer is NO. And we have no way other than to confess the stated fact written by Who design, create and revealed this verse. So, if He tells us that He is the Creator Who created us in this form and created for us this sources of energy to enjoy our life, we should believe in Him, otherwise we should not deserve His gifts, I mean our abilities to see, to think and to read. NOW, at the end of these four questions regarding four disciplined and planned creations. They are written in an ordered form: the origin of our formation, the source that offers our food, the source that offers us our drinking water, and the source that offers us the energy. Who is responsible for that? Can we claim that it is done and planned without a Great and Wise Creator? And can we claim that this verse that guides us to this answer in such sequential manner is not revealed from Him, the Merciful and Great Creator. Or can we claim that a Bedouin, who was born in a desert from more than 15 centuries, can direct such scientific questions in such scientific sequence. This reached conclusion is written at the end of these verses by this order: Then why don't you thank? Scientific conclusion: At the end of any scientific research, we should write the conclusion. So, the Creator at the next verse gives us the conclusion, which should be told by any man “Our Sincere Thanks to Allah, The Truly Merciful God, Who surely created us and Who guides us by His Miraculous Koran” [i]It is a chapter of the Koran with this title . Such chapter has the number “56” in the Holy Koran, and has 96 verses (sentences) . The translation of the word “Al-Wakihah” is “the events of the Day of Resurrection.” Generally we write beside each verse the number of the verse followed by the number of the chapter. [ii]( the words written in blue color are just an attempt of translation of the Koran (as the Holy Quran is lexically and lingistically miraculous. However, the bracketed words are another trial to show the meaning or a deeper explanation of these words, since the words in Arabic are of broader destinations than the translated words ) [iii]Of course, the complete understanding of these verses is just known to Allah [iv] the semen is a fluid that carry spermatozoon which carry half of the chromosomes ,while female produces ovums that carry the other integrating half of chromosomes . Is the Holy Quran Muhammad’s invention ? By DR :Abd Al-Raheem Al-Shreefh.D. of the science of Qur’an and its interpretation Translated by May Saleh Revised By Magdy Abd Al-Shafy Many critics of Islam throughout their continuous searching to find a human source to the Holy Qur'an, their imagination conducted them to the idea that the Holy Qur'an is prophet Muhammad's invention for three purposes: 1. To facilitate his domination over his followers. 2. To frighten the hypocrites, the unbelievers and those who disobey his orders. 3. To permit his pleasures. To answer this fallacy we say: The allegation that the Holy Qur’an is out of prophet Muhammad’s passions and imaginations is the weakest one of their suspicions. Are million of Arabs’ mothers unable to give birth to one like him (prophet Muhammad PBUH)? Were all his life circumistances qualified him to be in peace of mind, happy and sitting on his sofa .. holding a piece of peaper and pen and writing some verses of the Holy Qur’an?! What a single human can do, certainly a group of human can do too. So, Why they did not do that? Also, there are many replies concerning this allegation ;these are:[1] 1. The style of the Holy Qur’an is different from that of the Noble Hadeeth, certainly a person , irrespective of his qualifications , can impossibly produce sentences with different style at the same time. Allah’s Messenger is a human being ,who could be angry, happy, sad and so on .. but you can see the difference clearly between the prophetic Noble Hadeeth , that he said and what he told us that it is a Holy Qur’an. If the Qur’an and the Hadeeth have the same source, it will be very difficult to differentiat between their styles and their composition . And why Muhammad did not claim that his Hadeeth is a Qur’anic verses in spite of the fact that it is also inspired by Allah. [2] We cannot say that prophet Muhammad had two different styles, a very ornamented and decorated one which is for the Holy Qur’an and an inferior one for the Noble Hadeeth. Meanwhile most of the Holy Qur’an was brought down to prophet Muhammad unexpectedly, he is hates speech decoration more than any one , and we must not forget that we are talking about the golden age of Arabic when the Arabs’ instinct and sense were free from any kind of grammatical mistakes. 1-Show us a person who has a talent of speech and then write down his style characteristics. Then ask him to change his style into another one and write its characteristics too. Ask him to write a third one ... so he will never be able to abandon his first style; because style is something innate in any person on expressing the meaning. As long as a person has a special way in expressing the meaning, his performance would have inescapable characteristic.. [3] 2. When you observe the prophet’s biography (Seerah) you can notice his great fear of Almighty Allah, and his devoutness. Therefore, it is impossible for him to leave lying and cheating on people, then to lie and cheat on Allah. 3. What does an ordinary person want by pretending prophethood, if he is a liar? No more than some honor and money. While Quraish offered to Allah’s Messenger the most extreme things that any Arabic imagination could wish at that time, (money, honor, women…) but he left all of these and slept on a straw mat which affected his honorable body by leaving some lines on it, and he was exposed to many assassination attempts. He fought the polytheists.. although he could live in glory and bliss, if he gave up the calling for Islam. 4. The different Qur’anic miracles whether (illustrative, scientific, invisible or legislative) were behind the reach of any human being . 5. The Holy Qur’an does not contain any important events concerning Prophet Muhammad’s life or any names of his lovers or his closest persons such as ( his parents, his children, the earlier muslims, his wives..etc) even his name was not mentioned more than four times in the Holy Qur’an. 6. There are many verses of blame against Prophet Muhammad in the Holy Qur’an. 7. Prophet Muhammad underwent many problems and cases which demanded an immediate answer such as the slander incident concerning his wife “A'ishah may Allah be pleased with her” and the three who did not join the Tabuk expedition… also, his wife Khadejah “may Allah be pleased with her”, his uncle Abu Taleb and his son Abraham died without any indication concerning their death in the Holy Qur’an to console him Moreover, the Holy Qur’an does not refer to his marriage to the believers’ mother Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) whereas, his marriage to the believers’ mother Zienb (may Allah be pleased with her) is mentioned in the Holy Qur’an for its relation to a special Islamic legislation. 8. He did not obligate his followers to his personal opinons like: the story of fertilizing the palm tree[4], and his frequent cosultation to his followers on many occasions confirm that. 9. The Holy Qur’an stated that if it had been the prophet Muhammd’s invention, he would not have written any hard word according to his pleasure. As Almighty Allah says : (And you were not expecting that the Book (this Qur’an) would be sent down to you, but it is a mercy from your Lord.)[28:86]. of course, it is a hard word as Allah says :( Verily, We shall send down to you a weighty Word (i.e. obligations, laws) [73:5].
Even, if the matter was in his hand , he would send down words complying with their requirements, but this is inappropriate. Almighty Allah says: (And if you do not bring them a miracle (according to their (i.e. Quraish-pagans') proposal), they say: "Why have you not brought it?" Say: "I but follow what is revealed to me from my Lord. This (the Qur'ân) is nothing but evidences from your Lord, and a guidance and a mercy for a people who believe).[7:202]. Verily, Prophet Muhammad did not response to their demands in order to make them follow the evidence and the guidance, as a mercy for people who believe and to be sure that he is not the source of this revelation. Glory to Allah who converts their fallacies evidence against them!
10. Another evidence is that the Holy Qur’an was sent down separated in 23 years and was arranged in a very wonderful and accurate style without any flaw, contradiction or any change in its rhetoric. All of these could never have been produced by an ordinary human being known with his natural deficiency.
11. This suspicion indicates that there are a hiden knowledge inside Prophet Muhammad’s mind, so from where did he obtain this former knowledg ? I have discussed above the invalidity of the suspicion that its source is either human or Jinn. 11. The Holy Qur’an enjoins many hard worships and prohibits a lot of pleasures that any human being eager to, while Quraish did not find any difficulty in doing it . It is incredible that Prophet Muhammad’s desire forced him to pray most of the night and to fast many days of the month connecting the day with the night without breaking fast … or to forbbid himself from drinking alcohol, usury, wearing gold and silk, accepting charity and to inherit his children (which is spechial for him because he is a prophet). 12. Prophet Muhammad could frighten his followers – if we assume he invented the Holy Qur’an for this purpose – but .. is there any human being all over the world would intimidate himself from the agony of hell, or facing many risks by living in a place full of enemies (where the hiden enemies more than the apparent ones) and without any bodyguards? –In fact this what prophet Mohummed did . See what Almighty Allah says: (O Messenger (Muhammad (peace be upon him))! Proclaim (the Message) which has been sent down to you from your Lord. And if you do not, then you have not conveyed His Message. Allâh will protect you from mankind. Verily, Allâh guides not the people who disbelieve).[5:67]
This self sincerity led to another sincerity with others.. as Almighty Allah says : (And when Our Clear Verses are recited unto them, those who hope not for their meeting with Us, say: "Bring us a Qur'ân other than this, or change it." Say (O Muhammad (peace be upon him)) "It is not for me to change it[5] on my own accord; I only follow that which is revealed unto me. Verily, I fear the torment of the Great Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) if I were to disobey my Lord(15) Say (O Muhammad (peace be upon him)) "If Allâh had so willed, I should not have recited it to you nor would He have made it known to you. Verily, I have stayed amongst you a life time before this. Have you then no sense?(16) So who does more wrong than he who forges a lie against Allâh or denies His Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.)? Surely, the Mujrimûn (criminals, sinners, disbelievers and polytheists) will never be successful!(17)). [10: 15:17] Certainly, our Prohet Muhammad is honest, for the content of the Holy Qur’an does not belong to any creature (mankind or jinn), rather it is confirmed by Almighty Allah , God say in this regard what means : (And thus We have sent to you (O Muhammad (peace be upon him)) Ruh (a Revelation, and a Mercy) of Our Command. You knew not what is the Book, nor what is Faith? But We have made it (this Qur'ân) a light wherewith We guide whosoever of Our slaves We will. And verily, you (O Muhammad (peace be upon him)) are indeed guiding (mankind) to the Straight Path (i.e. Allâh's religion of Islâmic Monotheism). [42:52] Any spirit longing to find the truth, would believe in that and would be confident by the lowest thought and searching.. but the passions, the lack of discernment and the deception of some unfair researchers could blind it, Almighty Allah says : (Those who disbelieve say: "This (the Qur'ân) is nothing but a lie that he (Muhammad (peace be upon him)) has invented, and others have helped him at it. In fact they have produced an unjust wrong (thing) and a lie(4) And they say: "Tales of the ancients, which he has written down, and they are dictated to him morning and afternoon(5) Say: "It (this Qur'ân) has been sent down by Him (Allâh) (the Real Lord of the heavens and earth) Who knows the secret of the heavens and the earth. Truly, He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful(6).) [25:4:6]
Besides the envy which is mentioned in the following chapter : (Many of the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) wish that if they could turn you away as disbelievers after you have believed, out of envy from their ownselves, even, after the truth (that Muhammad (peace be upon him) is Allâh's Messenger) has become manifest unto them. But forgive and overlook, till Allâh brings His Command. Verily, Allâh is Able to do all things).[2:109] [1] Qur’anic issues in the British encyclopedia, Dr. Fadel Hasan Abbas, p208. And an introduction to a study of the Holy Qur’an, Muhammad Abu Shahbh, p 98. And Manahel Al-Arfan, Al-Zarqani, 1/62. [2] Al-Bukhari narrated in pilgrimmage (Al-hajj) chapter (1789): "A man came to the Prophet while he was at Ji'rana. The man was wearing a cloak which had traces of Khaluq or Sufra (a kind of perfume). The man asked (the Prophet ), 'What do you order me to perform in my 'Umra?' So, Allah inspired the Prophet divinely and he was screened by a place of cloth. I wished to see the Prophet being divinely inspired. 'Umar said to me, 'Come! Will you be pleased to look at the Prophet while Allah is inspiring him?' I replied in the affirmative. 'Umar lifted one corner of the cloth and I looked at the Prophet who was snoring. (The sub-narrator thought that he said: The snoring was like that of a camel). When that state was over, the Prophet asked, "Where is the questioner who asked about 'Umra? Put off your cloak and wash away the traces of Khaluq from your body and clean the Sufra (yellow color) and perform in your Umra what you perform in your Hajj (i.e. the Tawaf round the Ka'ba and the Sa'i between Safa and Marwa). " Islam opponents’ suspisions and fabrications and anulled them, Muhammad Metwali Al-Shaarawi, p 38. Muslim narrated in virtues chapter (2363) : “The Prophet passed by a group of people who were fertilizing the palm trees and said: it is better if you do not fertilize these palm trees. The narrater said: bad dates (shaess) grew. Then the Prophet passed them again and said: what is the matter with your palm trees? They said : because you said earlier “it is better if you do not fertilize these palm trees” and we did so. The Prohet said: ‘you know more than me about your present life”. Shaess means the date with soft kernel or without kernel at all . [5] Al-Zamakhshari talked in his book ‘Al- Kshaf” about the reason behind Quraish unbelievers’requirements : “the unbelievers’suggestion of replacement and changing is out of greed and to test him. That because if he makes any replacement: Allah will either perish him and they will escape or to not perish him and they will make fun of him and this replacement will be an evidence against him and a correction for his fabrication”.
Many critics of Islam throughout their continuous searching to find a human source to the Holy Qur'an, their imagination conducted them to the idea that the Holy Qur'an is prophet Muhammad's invention for three purposes: 1. ISLAMIC COMMENTS ON THE "JESUS SEMINAR"
| ||
By Dr Salama AbdelHady Translation Revised By Magdy Abd Al-Shafy Overview: The Jesus Seminar is a group of academic theologians who studied Christian writings from the first to the third century from a religiously liberal respective. The Seminar was founded by Robert W. Funk in 1985 with over 200 fellows as a project of the Westar Institute in Santa Rosa , CA. R. W. The procedure, policies assumptions, conclusions and remarks of the "Jesus Seminar" are published in many sites as: http://religion.rutgers.edu/jseminar/ We are Muslims, who believe in our Holy Book, the Quran. Our belief in the divine source of the Quran has its proofs which cannot be ignored by any wisdom. Who suspect such a divine source may look at thousands of references which touch the Miracles of the Quran. It cannot be written by people and surely it is the word of Allah. The Quran which is in our hands is read and written with the same language as was inspired to Mohammed, the prophet of Islam, with more than 1200 million Muslims in the world nowadays. The historical evidence that the Quran which is read now is the same Quran inspired to the prophet of Islam is available. We have our own comments on the Jesus Seminar. Our comments on Jesus Seminar will be stemmed directly from the verses of the Holy Quran. The main conclusions of the seminar are introduced in red color and the Quranic comments are added normal one. First: Jesus did not claim to be God: This conclusion is in complete agreement with Quranic beliefs. Jesus, Moses and Mohammed are just prophets and messengers from Allah. Allah is beyond our imaginations as the verses of the Quran told. ( Al An'am). 103. No vision can grasp Him (Allah), but His grasp is over all vision: He is above all comprehension, yet is acquainted with all things. The Quran states that Jesus is just a man and whoever claims that he is a God should be condemned. These meanings can be read from Surat Al Maa-idah. 72. They do blaspheme who say: "(Allah) is Christ the son of Mary." but said Christ: "O Children of Israel ! worship Allah, My Lord and your Lord." Whoever joins other gods with Allah,- Allah will forbid Him the garden, and the Fire will be His abode. there will for the wrong-doers be no one to help. 73. They do blaspheme who say: Allah is one of three In a Trinity: for there is no god except one Allah. if They desist not from their word (of blasphemy), Verily a grievous penalty will befall the blasphemers among them. 74. Why turn They not to Allah, and seek His forgiveness? for Allah is Oft- forgiving, Most Merciful. 75. Christ the son of Mary was no more than an apostle; many were the apostles that passed away before Him. His mother was a woman of Truth. They had both to eat their (daily) food. see How Allah doth make His Signs Clear to them; yet see In what ways They are deluded away from the truth! The Quran states that all messengers, including Mohammed, Jesus and Moses are just men who had specific missions: (Al Anbiyaa') 7. Before thee, also, the apostles we sent were but men, to whom we granted inspiration: if ye realize This not, ask of those who possess the Message. 25. Not an apostle did we send before Thee without This inspiration sent by us to him: that there is no god but I; Therefore worship and serve Me. Second : Jesus did not claim to be the Messiah: This claim is against the teachings of Islam. The Quran states that Jesus is the Messiah, in Arabic language, and is the Christ in English language. From Surat Ali Imran we may read: 45. Behold! the angels said: "O Mary! Allah giveth Thee glad tidings of a word from him: His name will be Christ Jesus, the son of Mary, held In honor In This world and the Hereafter and of (the company of) those nearest to Allah. 46. "He shall speak to the people In childhood and In maturity. and He shall be (of the company) of the righteous." Third : Jesus did not believe that his execution was necessary for those who trust in him as Lord and Savior to be saved from the eternal damnation. The Quran states that there is no eternal damnation. Adam made a mistake, then, he asked Allah for forgiveness. Allah, as a Forgiver, forgave him. Adam's mistake was expected from him because he was created with the ability to choose. The earth was created to receive the human beings and such choice had already planned. That is inspired to Mohammed in the Quran as follows: (al-Baquara) 35. We said: "O Adam! dwell Thou and Thy wife In the Garden; and eat of the bountiful things therein As (where and when) ye will; but approach not This tree, or ye run into harm and transgression." 36. Then did Satan make them slip from the (garden), and get them out of the state (of felicity) In which They had been. we said: "Get ye down, all (ye people), with enmity between yourselves. on earth will be your dwelling-place and your means of livelihood - for a time." 37. Then learnt Adam from His Lord words of inspiration, and His Lord turned towards him; for He is Oft-Returning, Most Merciful. Each man is responsible for his deeds. The burdens of father will not be inherited by the sons. So, Adam's burden is his own deeds and he received forgiveness. These statements are clear in the following verses: (Al-Israa) 15. Who receiveth guidance, receiveth it for His own benefit: who goeth astray doth so to His own loss: no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another: nor would we visit with Our wrath until we had sent an apostle (to give warning). And (Al Muddatstir): 38. Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds. So, Muslims don't believe in salvation or execution by any human being or God. Paul had introduced such salvation in Christianity, but no one of Jesus followers agreedwith him. The Quran states that Jesus was not executed at all but Judas was executed in his place instead. 157. That They said (in boast), "We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah.;- but They killed Him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety They killed Him not. Such statement is in full agreement with the last found gospel “Gospel of Judas” which was released in 2006. This gospel was introduced by an article published in THE WASHINGTON TIMES in 7th of April, 2006 with the title: Judas stars as 'anti-hero' in gospel, By Julia Duin. The author mentioned a sentence in his article as translated from the found gospel codex which states: Jesus tells Judas you will "exceed" the rest of the disciples "for you will sacrifice the man that clothes me." This means that Judas would be clothed by Jesus and that he will be crucified in his place as the Quran states. This article is found in the site: http://www.washingtontimes.com/national/ 20060407-120642-3758r.htm Fourth : About 18% of the sayings of Jesus recorded in the four canonical Gospels and Thomas were probably said by Jesus. The remaining passages attributed to Jesus were actually created by the Gospel writers. This statement is in agreement with Muslim's belief as stemmed from the Quran. The Quran states that Jesus mission was only to confirm the law (The old Testament ) and to give glad tidings to the coming or expected Messenger, Ahmed ( or Mohamed). The name of Islam's prophet means the man who is (much praised ) or as found in the Gospels "Paraklitos". this word was reolaced with the (Al Saff) 6. And remember, Jesus, the son of Mary, said: "O Children of Israel ! I am the apostle of Allah (sent) to you, confirming the law (which came) before me, and giving glad tidings of an Messenger to come after me, whose name shall be Ahmad." but when He came to them with Clear Signs, They said, "This is evident sorcery!" The Quran states also that of the Jews there would be people who displaced the words of Jesus and Moses: (Al Nisaa) 46. Of the Jews there are those who displace words from their (right) places, and say: "We Hear and we disobey"; and "Hear what is not Heard"; and "Ra'ina"; with a twist of their tongues and a slander to Faith. if only They had said: "What Hear and we obey"; and "Do hear"; and "Do look at us"; it would have been better for them, and more proper; but Allah hath cursed them for their Unbelief; and but few of them will believe. & (AL Baqarah) 57. And we gave you the shade of clouds and sent down to you Manna and quails, saying: "Eat of the good things we have provided for you:" (But They rebelled); to us They did no harm, but They harmed their own souls. The doubt of the people in the Bible was stated in the Quran: (Asy Yuura) 14. And They became divided only after knowledge reached them,- through selfish envy As between themselves. had it not been for a word that went forth before from Thy Lord, (tending) to a term appointed, the matter would have been settled between them: but truly those who have inherited the Book after them are In suspicious (disquieting) doubt concerning it. Fifth: Many, if not most, of the miracles described in the Gospels did not actually occur: There was no virgin birth Such statement is against the belief of Islam. The Muslims believe that Mary was pregnant by the word of Allah. This is stated in the Quran in many verses. (Mary) 16. Relate In the Book (the story of) Mary, when she withdrew from Her family to a place In the East. 17. She placed a screen (to screen herself) from them; then we sent Her Our angel, and He appeared before Her As a man In all respects. 18. She said: "I seek refuge from Thee to ((Allah)) Most gracious: (come not near) if Thou dost fear Allah." 19. He said: "Nay, I am only a Messenger from Thy Lord, (to announce) to Thee the gift of a holy son. 20. She said: "How shall I have a son, seeing that no man has touched me, and I am not unchaste?" 21. He said: "So (it will be): Thy Lord saith, 'that is easy for Me: and (We wish) to appoint Him As a Sign unto men and a Mercy from Us':It is a matter (so) decreed." 2. There was no walking on water, no feeding of thousands with a few fish and loaves, no bodily resurrection, walking through walls, transfiguration, ascension into heavens. Such miracles are not stated in the Quran. So, they may be myths as the seminar claims. 3. Jesus did not bring anyone back to life. This is against the statements of the Quran. Jesus was supported by miracles from Allah to strengthen his call to the Jews.(Ali Imran) 49. "And (appoint him) an apostle to the Children of Israel, (with This message): "'I have come to you, with a Sign from your Lord, In that I make for you out of clay, As it Were, the figure of a bird, and breathe into it, and it becomes a bird by Allah.s leave: and I heal those born blind, and the lepers, and I quicken the dead, by Allah.s leave; and I declare to you what ye eat, and what ye store In your houses. surely therein is a Sign for you if ye did believe; 4. There are no such entities as indwelling demons. Jesus probably healed mental and physical illness in the same way that religious healers work today. This is against the Islamic beliefs. A man, like those theologians, in the age of science cannot believe these things to happen without a proof. The Muslims believe that this Book, the Quran, is a miracle and sure it the word of God. So, they believe that the miracles of Jesus -as stated in their book - surely occurred. They believe that Jesus was supported by the Holy Spirit. But the Holy Spirit is only an angel from Allah but having higher capabilities than the manhood. He is not a God in any way. Of course, who will not believe in such entity, will describe Jesus as a religious healer. Such statements are described in the Quran. ( Al Maidaa) 110. Then will Allah say: "O Jesus the son of Mary! Recount My favour to Thee and to Thy mother. Behold! I strengthened Thee with the holy spirit, so that Thou Didst speak to the people In childhood and In maturity. Behold! I taught Thee the Book and Wisdom, the law and the Gospel and Behold! Thou makest out of clay, As it Were, the figure of a bird, by My leave, and Thou breathest into it and it becometh a bird by My leave, and Thou healest those born blind, and the lepers, by My leave. and Behold! Thou bringest forth the dead by My leave. and Behold! I did restrain the Children of Israel from (violence to) Thee when Thou Didst Show them the Clear Signs, and the unbelievers among them said: 'This is nothing but evident magic.' |
The importance of prayer in Muslim’s life
| ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Translated By Amera Sharawi Revised By Magdy Abd Al-Shafy
The second pillar of Islam is salat, the requirement to pray five times a day at fixed times. [24] [25] Each salat is performed facing towards the Kaba in Mecca. [24] However, in the early days of Islam prior to the hijra and until the beginning of the seventh month after hijra Muslims offered salat facing towards Jerusalem. [26] Salat is intended to focus the mind on God; it is a personal communication with God, expressing gratitude and worship.[24] According to the Qur'an (29:40) the benefit of prayer "restrains [one] from shameful and evil deeds"[25]. Salat is compulsory but there are flexibilities under certain circumstances. [27] For example in the case of sickness or lack of space, a worshipper can offer salat while sitting or even lying, and the prayer can be shortened when travelling. [27] The salat must be performed in the Arabic language to the best of each worshipper's ability (although the du'a afterwards need not be in Arabic), and the lines are to be recited by heart, although beginners may use written aids. The worshipper's body and clothing, as well as the place of prayer, must be cleansed. [27] All salat should be conducted within the prescribed time period or waqt and with the appropriate number of raka'ah. While prayers may be made at any point within the waqt, it is considered best to begin them as soon as possible after the call to prayer is heard. When a worshipper is too far from a mosque to hear a call to prayer, the time may be inferred from the position of the sun in the sky.[citation needed]
Verses from the Holy Quran [16:49] To GOD prostrates everything in the heavens and everything on earth - every creature - and so do the angels; without the least arrogance. [22:18] Do you not realize that to GOD prostrates everyone in the heavens and the earth, and the sun, and the moon, and the stars, and the mountains, and the trees, and the animals, and many people? Many others among the people are committed to doom. Whomever GOD shames, none will honor him. Everything is in accordance with GOD's will.
The importance of prayer Prayer in Islam has a great importance, this can proved by the following: 1- It is the second element of Islam. 2- It is the first thing to be asked about on the day of resurrection , if prayer is accepted then all man’s work will be accepted and if it is not accepted all his work will not be accepted either. 3- It is a distinguishing sign for pious (devoted) believers as Allah says: “and perform prayer “( surat Al-Bakkara/ verse 3). 4- This who preserves prayer preserves his religion, and this who abandons it loses his religion. 5- Islam is in man’s heart as far as prayer is in his heart and his share in Islam equals his share of prayer. 6- It is a sign of loving Allah and appreciating His Blessings. 7- Allah The Almighty ordered us to preserve it whether we are traveling or staying, during war and peace and whether we are ill or healthy. 8- Texts declare that who abandons prayer is a disbeliever (an atheist). Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said “what lies between a man and atheism is abandoning prayer “(Musli
“(Muslim accounts) and said “prayer is the commitment between us, who abandons it disbelieves - becomes a disbeliever or becomes an atheist – (Ahmad and people of norms “sunan” account). When this who abandons prayer dies he is considered an atheist, he is not washed nor enshrouded, no one prays for him, he is not buried in Muslims’ graves, his relatives do not inherit from him and his money goes to beit al-mal (where the money of Muslim states is kept) in addition to other similar provisions that apply to those who abandon prayer.
