The importance of prayer in Muslim’s life

The importance of prayer in Muslim’s life

   Translated By Amera Sharawi

Revised By Magdy Abd Al-Shafy

The second pillar of Islam is salat, the requirement to pray five times a day at fixed times. [24] [25] Each salat is performed facing towards the Kaba in Mecca. [24] However, in the early days of Islam prior to the hijra and until the beginning of the seventh month after hijra Muslims offered salat facing towards Jerusalem. [26] Salat is intended to focus the mind on God; it is a personal communication with God, expressing gratitude and worship.[24] According to the Qur'an (29:40) the benefit of prayer "restrains [one] from shameful and evil deeds"[25]. Salat is compulsory but there are flexibilities under certain circumstances. [27] For example in the case of sickness or lack of space, a worshipper can offer salat while sitting or even lying, and the prayer can be shortened when travelling. [27]

The salat must be performed in the Arabic language to the best of each worshipper's ability (although the du'a afterwards need not be in Arabic), and the lines are to be recited by heart, although beginners may use written aids. The worshipper's body and clothing, as well as the place of prayer, must be cleansed. [27] All salat should be conducted within the prescribed time period or waqt and with the appropriate number of raka'ah. While prayers may be made at any point within the waqt, it is considered best to begin them as soon as possible after the call to prayer is heard. When a worshipper is too far from a mosque to hear a call to prayer, the time may be inferred from the position of the sun in the sky.[citation needed]

Verses from the Holy Quran

[13:15] To GOD prostrates everyone in the heavens and the earth, willingly or unwillingly, and so do their shadows in the mornings and the evenings.

[16:49] To GOD prostrates everything in the heavens and everything on earth - every creature - and so do the angels; without the least arrogance.

[22:18] Do you not realize that to GOD prostrates everyone in the heavens and the earth, and the sun, and the moon, and the stars, and the mountains, and the trees, and the animals, and many people? Many others among the people are committed to doom. Whomever GOD shames, none will honor him. Everything is in accordance with GOD's will.

The importance of prayer

Prayer in Islam has a great importance, this can proved by the following:

1-   It is the second element of Islam.

2-   It is the first thing to be asked about on the day of resurrection , if prayer is accepted then all man’s work will be accepted and if it is not accepted all his work will not be accepted either.

3-   It is a distinguishing sign for pious (devoted) believers as Allah says: “and perform prayer “( surat Al-Bakkara/ verse 3).

4-   This who preserves prayer preserves his religion, and this who abandons it loses his religion.

5-   Islam is in man’s heart as far as prayer is in his heart and his share in Islam equals his share of prayer.

6-   It is a sign of loving Allah and appreciating His Blessings.

7-   Allah The Almighty ordered us to preserve it whether we are traveling or staying, during war and peace and whether we are ill or healthy.

8-   Texts declare that who abandons prayer is a disbeliever (an atheist). Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said “what lies between a man and atheism is abandoning prayer “(Musli

“(Muslim accounts) and said “prayer is the commitment between us, who abandons it disbelieves - becomes a disbeliever or becomes an atheist – (Ahmad and people of norms “sunan” account). When this who abandons prayer dies he is considered an atheist, he is not washed nor enshrouded, no one prays for him, he is not buried in Muslims’ graves, his relatives do not inherit from him and his money goes to beit al-mal (where the money of Muslim states is kept) in addition to other similar provisions that apply to those who abandon prayer.

yes , even high over the clouds moslems do the prayer ; they seek the pleasure of Allah and the peace of mind

God says in the Holy Quran what means " Men whom neither merchandise nor sale beguileth from remembrance of Allah and constancy in prayer and paying to the poor their due; who fear a day when hearts and eyeballs will be overturned"(24:37.)

Even children like to do it , prophet Mohummed ordered that children should be learnt how to pray .

No matter where they are , they like it . It brings them close to God

Nothing beguiles them .They never forget their connection with God . The spiritual feeling in their heart search for a way to materialize and the best is the Moslem prayer

yes , they are at war ; they may have  been  angry , they may have been  thirsty , they may have missed their family ; they may have been at feart of the horrible distructive weapons and nothing can relieve these pains but Salat . It is true , when you do the Moslem prayer you feel you entity close to God - it is something that beggers description

perhaps , they were about to travel ; perhaps they had short time but what could quench the love of Allah but the Moslem prayer ?!!!

Wait , wait -where are they ? though it is not incumbent in such a situation , but they refuse to miss the contact with God . How lovely

One of the merits Islam that God  vouchsafed on us is that He made the earth a place suitable to prayer , prophet Mohummed says " wherever the time for the prayer comes upon you , perform the prayer ; for all the earth is a place of worshipping for you.

They  fear none but God . What on earth could prevent a true believer from doing prayer ? They should understand what Islam is ; how could be a person who is in complete submission to God be a terrorist ?!!

See how long the row is , see how much they adhere to God's injunctions ; think what made those people to stop their cars to do the prayer . Though they could deter the prayer till they go home , they wish nothing but the contact of God , in their daily life they aspire for nothing but God's  pleasure . yes , to them life should stop and their love and sbmission to God go -How beautiful this life is!! how beautiful is the land  where they prostrate themselves - Those are the Moslems who never forget their Creator.

The mosque is completely filled , those Moslem take a  place around the mosque to do their prayers . Prostration is a symbole of the complete submission and humilityto God , In moslem 's humility a declaration of no greatness but to Allah , self-conceit and self-importance die away .

When things are down
And you are out of your mind
Just Remember
Allah is The Merciful .

When your life is in darkness
And nothing is right
Just Remember
Through the darkness,
Allah is The Light.

When nothing makes sense
And your heading for demise
Just Remember
It doesn't make sense, but
Allah is The Wise.

When times are troubled
And no one seems to care
Just Remember,
that Allah wil care .

When your heart is breaking
And your pain makes you fall
Just Remember,
Allah relieves it all.

When you are weak
And the road seems long
Just Remember,
Seek strength from The Strong.

When life is a burden
And everything is unstable
Just Remember,
Allah is The Able.

When the way is cloudy
And there is no one by your side
Just Remember,
Allah is The Only Guide.

When no one wants to listen
Or is willing to lend an ear
Just Remember,
Allah is always ready to hear.

When you are poor and penniless
And you are stuck in a niche
Just Remember,
Allah is The Rich.

When you are down in your misery
And there is nowhere to run
Just Remember,
You can always run to The One.

When you r all alone
And your pain has no end
Just Remember,
Allah is the only one you can depend.

And when your scars are hurting
And your heart is in fear
Just Remember,
Allah is really here

They pray while another soldier defends their back - In such an extreme cold , they never forget to pray , they need the prayer that relieve thier pains .with hearts filled with love and wormth , they have prostrated themselves to God on the icy land .

Sajdah is a unique position or stance in the regular prayers, which a Muslim is supposed to offer at least five times a day. Although the basic purpose of obligatory prayers is not to provide an exercise for people yet it is being increasingly recognized that it has plenty of medical advantages for the human body. Here it is worth mentioning that Holy Prophet Muhammad has mentioned in a hadith in Ibn Majah that prayer is a cure for many diseases. The fact is that a person who offers his prayers regularly that too in the mosque is protected from many diseases which he many not even know.

The position of Sajdah in which the forehead touches the earth is exclusively associated with the Muslim form of prayer. It is the climax of a Muslim's prayer and as mentioned in a Hadith a Muslim is nearest to Allah in this position.

Abu Huraira (radiAllahu anhu) reported that the messenger of Allah said:
"The nearest a servant comes to his Lord is when he is prostrating himself, so make supplication (in this state)"
[Sahih al-Bukhari]

A'ishah Siddiqa (radiAllahu anha) narrates that Holy Prophet used to prolong the prostration to such an extent that one could recite fifty verses (of the Qur'an) before he would lift his head
[Sahih al-Bukhari]

In another Hadith narrated by Anas bin Malik (radiAllahu anhu) the Holy Prophet advised Muslims to perform Ruku (bowing) and Sajdah properly.

In another Hadith he advised to perform Sajdah and Bowing calmly and to get up only when the body has come to ease.

In supplication for the victory, He also performed long bowing (Ruku) and Sajdah in the special prayers at the time of eclipse. Hence the first positive effect upon a person who prostrates or does Sajdah is that he comes nearest to Allah and hence in that condition he can supplicate. This is a great psychological advantage and it gives relief to the person concerned as life is full of worries and in this position he gets at least a transient refuge from the agonizing problems. When a person goes to the position of prostration Sajdah his whole body is in active motion. This position can be considered as a mini dive as the musalli (one who offers prayer) goes to rest his forehead on the ground while his hands are placed at the sides. This brings most of the body muscles if not all in active motion and serves to give them some exercise.

The hands are then specifically stretched out and thence the forearm as well as arm muscles are supposed to bear the weight in the Sajdah position. It gives good exercise to the muscles of the upper limb. Holy Prophet in a hadith advised not to put the forearms flatly on the ground but to keep them elevated above ground and this is better for the forearm and arm muscles.

Sajdah is a unique position as this is the only position in which brain (or head) becomes lower than the heart and hence for the first time the blood gushes towards the brain with full force whereas in all other positions (even when lying) brain is above the heart when it has to work against gravity to send blood to the brain.

In the position of Sajdah due to the increased blood supply the brain receive more nourishment and it has good effect upon memory, vision, hearing, concentration, psyche and all other cognitive abilities. People who offer their prayers regularly have more will power and can cope with the difficulties of life in a much better manner. They have less incidence of headaches, psychological problems and other defects of cognitive function.

In the unique position of Sajdah the neck muscles get best exercise. They have to bear the load when the forehead lies at the ground hence the neck muscles become stronger. One can note the tense pressure at the neck muscles in the position of Sajdah specially the active motion of the neck and the facial muscles when the head is being lifted. (e.g. one inch above the ground) and it will be noticed that they are in a very active motion.

More strong cervical muscles mean the cervical vertebra will be better protected. Strength of cervical muscles is important as the head rests upon cervical vertebra supported by cervical musculature.

In fact head performs rotator movements over the cervical vertebra. In any accident cervical neck examination is especially important to the physicians because of its extraordinary importance.

It is uncommon that a person who offers his prayers regularly will get the usual neck myalgias or cervical spondylosis as the neck muscles particularly become very strong due to the 34 sajdahs offered daily in five prayers.

Position of Sajdah is also said to be a good treatment for the retroversion of uterus, a disease of women.

Most of us do not know that the position of Sajdah is an excellent exercise for men (for manpower). It may be a good information to the Viagra dependents. While getting up from Sajdah the perinneal muscles are one of those muscles which have to pull the trunk back to sitting position and they contract actively. Similarly while standing up from Sajdah the perennial muscles are again actively mobilised and this gives much strength to the muscles important for manpower.

The unique position of Sajdah also has positive effects upon the back muscles as while going into Sajdah and getting up from it the back muscle contract actively and they become stronger. Probably it is because of this reason that a person who is regular in prayers will uncommonly get backache.

After performing Sajdah either the musalli stands up or he sits to pray Attahiyyat. In this position the person sits calmly while his hands rest at his thighs which are folded backwards. This is much similar to the relaxation position of Yoga and has soothing effect upon one's health and mentation.

Holy Prophet Muhammad used to elongate the position of Ruku (bending) and Sajdah positions and he advised to do so. In the light of the above facts it is appropriate to say that from medical point of view as well this advice is a golden rule for health.

Finally it must be reminded that prayer is not meant to be an exercise. However there are a lot of medical advantages associated with it.
Still the best blessing is the peace of mind, which a person derives by the accomplishment of his duty to Allah by fulfilling an obligation.

They are not playing , look at their face ; with eyes downwards , with heads bowing they submit themselves to God - Kids but with hearts of men

Man can be closest to God  only when prostrating himself

Islamic Reflections insight about some Biological problems

Islamic Reflections insight about some Biological problems

Dr / Radwan Hussein Allbedi

Translated by Dr Iman Althawi

Revised by Magdy Abd Al-Shafy

Each case has a call and a purpose . And the CALL of Islamic question is: (The Koran is the remaining protected God's Book that should be followed and be  the constitution and the curriculum to whoever wants to be correct and straight.)

The details of the call is a summary of Sciences ,comparing the  religions and holy books , all aspects of religion and standardization and history and the humanities, which revealed that:

1 - The Koran is the only book that is free from contradictions and incongruity , distortion  and human intervention.

2-the Koran is the only book that is miraculous in the sense and linguistic structure ( from the first word to the last word in it)

3 - That The Koran is the only book (that Deems Divinity far above the imperfection )

4-That  the Koran is the only Scripture that deems the prophets far above any wrongdoing, be it great or trivial .

5-That the Koran is the only remaining preserved book ,  which is directly attributable to the source.

6 - That the Koran is the only book of which all the copies in any time and in any place are identical ..

7 - That the Koran is universal in its Platform and its content for establishing a balance justice   between  man and his brother, man and humanity, man and the universe around him.

8 - That the Koran is the only book in which we find references to scientific facts from  atom to  galaxy, and from sperm to human brain and these  coincide with the scientific facts accurately detected by the technical means.

Overall,  the listener to the Koran (the words of God ) feels that it comes  from the heaven. We have authored a separate book named (( why Koran ? ))  to be the head of the series   of ((Why Islam, the Koran and why?  )) Which includes this work which we will take up the issue of embryology and the consequent and further issues as a child and artificial insemination AI, InVitro Fertilisation (IVF), and cloning  and we will deal with the scientific  part o,  but the ideological part of these issues is to be  left to the specialists of the religion.

The issue of scientific laboratory is an abstract issue aiming to discover the secret of the secrets of the universe, But the intervention of broad application among humans may arise as a result of dangers and problems that need guidance or regulation.  Since the discovery of nuclear  division  and the secrets of atomic energy, in the beginning  it was of a of scientific secrets of the atom and the energies of the universe, the underlying progress of mankind offering rights for mankind often through the use of energy generated, but when it came to the use of weapons of mass destruction, it was the rule of the intervention of the legislature to make its own contribution in this direction, as this  spreads corruption and destruction in the land.

No prohibition or limitation for the scientific research, provided it reveals the secrets of the universe as long as limited in the labs, But when put into practice, then we must enter the legislature for technology and the development of rules and regulations and safeguards have legitimacy.

First :the creation of the fetus : when the mind does not have the technical means enabling him to know the stages of  embryogenesis from the outset, he made theories about the emergence of a fetus as follows :

1- fetus is formed of nothing but through self-generating coincidence.

2-embryo arises from the seeds that emerge from the men and contains a mini photo copy from the  full child , woman is only the place in which to grow (in the sense of growing in size) .

3-embryo created in  mother and the liquid semen serves as culture and  a catalyst only

Hormone System

Hormone System

     By :Dr. Mohammad Alsagga Eid

  Translated by :Zakya Felata

Revised by : Magdy Abd Al-Shafy

God says   in the holy Koran what means : {Weshall show them Our portents on the horizons and within themselves until it will be manifest unto them that it is the Truth. Doth not thy Lord suffice, since He is Witness over all things? } (Fussilat: 53).

On thinking about Hormone and how each one functions performing aspecific task one might find oneself saying It is a wonderful and assorted world ;In fact , Hormones are among the many signs that lead to the belief in God . The act of Hormones  maintains uncountable voluntary and involuntary actions InsideOur body .

Sometimes, one wonders how billions of body cells work and interact? How do they communicate?

you should know ,at this moment while reading this short essay , that there are billions of biological functions that take  place in your body. Through these processes, each cell of your body takes the essential necessaries, and the function of a cell is defined, the body takes managements to supply cells with their necessaries by coordinating and organizing among different systems with  striking   speed and an amazing ability to defy and respond to any sudden changes.

The function of every cell is defined, along with what it needs to have its necessaries  ,through an  expeditious amazing  co-ordination between the different organs in a way that keeps it safe against any unexpected sudden change .

Cells that form your body work within a complementary network and supply you with your the necessaries though you don't sense any of these activities  . That takes place through a network between cells which is of very high  performance. Proteins are one of the most important components which are considered to be the most essential substances inside cells

Hormone Definition

Hormones are chemical substances that act in very small quantities and circulate in blood continuously; they define growth rate, configuration, calmness, femininity and virility, strength and weakness, emotions and everything related to life . They also have a noticeable affect on body organs’ functions whether it is  active or  inactive  . Hormones control personal behaviours, ethics, customs and how someone deals with others and with situations.

Each hormone is a chemical messenger of a determined function that is secreted into blood stream by the secreting gland to perform its role on target cell or target tissue, so hormones are proteins or peptide chains; these chains are one of protein formation phase

A figure shows the chemical structure of a hormone, it is of a complex structure.

a- Hormones are produced from definite parts of body called endocrine glands, that pour their secretion directly into blood stream to act as an important role in regulating the functions inside the body. Endocrine glands have no ducts, they have internal secretions ;unlike the body glands that consist of ducts ,  Hormones  consist of specified cells that shed secretions into blood .

b- Hormones don’t act their role locally in the same area from which they were secreted (haven’t localized effect), but  they are carried in  blood to affect other parts of the body.

c- Hormones are substantial in  coordinating and organizing  body functions.

d- Hormones have a stimulatory and inhibitory effect.

e- Hormones can be  classified according to their chemical structure into three types ; these are : protein hormones such as Insulin; Steroid hormones such as sexual hormones and Adrenal glands hormones; the third type is of Phenol derivatives such as Adrenalin that is released from the  adrenal medulla.

Hormones are important as they act synergestically with the nervous system to regulate body functions. While the nervous system performs its role in regulating the body  functions quickly (within  a fraction  of a second), endocrine glands act slowly, they might take  several  minutes, hours or  even days.

Hormone Function Mechanism

There are three main ways for hormones to activate target tissues or organs :

1. Hormone might activate a gene. For instance, sexual hormones, which have the ability to enter into cell nucleus to bind to the nucleic acid (DNA).

2. Hormone might activate some enzyme Such as Adrenalin hormone that activates specific enzyme within the  cell membrane, this enzyme brings about changes while hormone is still out of cell membrane.

3. Hormone might change cell membrane permeability  (the ability to allow some substances to pass through or out of the cell membrane and preventing others from passing). Insulin and Growth Hormone (GH) are examples of those hormones. Insulin allows Glucose to enter the cell, while GH allows amino acids to enter cells for protein synthesis.

pituitary Gland is the most important gland to secrete hormones within human body

Why should we work with hormones carefully?

Firstly: it depends on the origin of hormones; hormones are very susceptible substances and are secreted in small amounts so the increase or decrease of these amounts leads to serious effect.

Secondly: there are many relations between hormones, for example; the increase of some hormones in the body causes decrease of others such as Insulin which is responsible for lowering sugar concentration in blood; there is a hormone that acts antagonistically with it and this  raises blood sugar concentrations ; this is called called Glucagon, so the body maintains between its necessaries and those hormones concentrations in the blood; if a person takes unmeasured synthesized hormones,  that will bring about disturbance in hormones concentrations set by God in the body.

Another example, there are hormones that integrate and cooperate with each other ; a unit of estrogen thickens the lining of the uterus by 1gm, and so does  Progesterone , but if we take two units of Estrogen and Progesterone together, lining of uterus will thicken 8gms at once. What would happen if we increase one of the two hormones rate when body doesn’t need that increase? We think that uncalculated increase or decrease in hormones concentrations brings about disturbance in the previous cycle which goes with many hormones and leads to considerable troubles.

God glory to him says: {He, Whose is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and Who did not take to Himself a son, and Who has no associate in the kingdom, and Who created everything, then ordained for it a measure} (Al-furqan: 2).

Also God glory to him says: {Surely We created man of the best stature}

                                                                                                                   (At-tin: 4).

The Last Word "

God , to whom all perfection and majesty are ascribed, created amazing postal net and system in which  hormones molecules play the role of postman, as postman goes about city carrying letters to definite places, so do hormones when they carry orders coming from the brain to target cells. Whereupon all the essential biological processes within the  human body are accomplished, yet we have to take into account that hormones are  not  conscious as human is ; they have no sensations; nor awareness to determine their directions, to identify what they carry and to whom they are going to  carry  it, they aren’t trained  in this field for many years to have the aptitude to do that.

So hormones , which we liken to postman,  are very complex molecules that can’t be explained fully without using complicated chemical symbols and equations.

On thinking about hormones and its mechanism , one should come o the coclusion that Harmones are wonderful  miracles among the many miracles and blessings that God bestows on man . To know how great this is a miracle is just imagine

It is of an incredible work and wonderful miracle for hormone molecules to identify the messages they carry and to identify the cell that will receive messages, then to continue traveling through internal body dimness (that is milliards times bigger  ) and never lose  their way; and to act their role perfectly, this is just an examples of the miracles that God planted in the human body to know how greatly and harmoniously these organs act

It is a general invitation To Whom It May Concern to contemplate and think of creating and creatures   God says in the Holy Quran what means : { Have they not considered the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and what things Allah hath created, and that it may be that their own term draweth nigh? In what fact after this will they believe? (7:185)

Glory to God who says: {We will soon show them Our signs in the Universe and in their own souls, until it will become quite clear to them that it is the truth. Is it not sufficient as regards your Lord that He is a witness over all things?} (Fussilat: 53).

The disaster and The missing band in Islam

The disaster and The missing band in Islam

By Dr : Hussein Al-Lobedy

Translated by

Mr : Magdy Abd Al-Shafy

A long statistics that included the cultured and the intellectuals all over the Moslem world were  conducted with the result that millions of them do not know why Quran is God's word and that it is  the sole Holy Book that has remained without being distorted or changed and that they don't know why Islam should be the immortal religion, and that is incomparable and that it is the safety band for the world civilization . You can make a poll to make sure of that and that is a crisis that is going to afflict the people of intellect among the Moslem nation. Treating this problem is the missing band in the Islamic missionary activity

This is just an effort to show this

The undying international revelation

Let's speculate over a while before being reckoned  before God and in  this study we will search for the truth , which should be followed .

Do you believe , my brother , that there must be a manufacturer forevery handicraft even if  that is a small pin or matchstick ?!!

Of course , I do

Don't you think , my brother , that if this handicraft is featured by accuracy , science, it will ascertain that the originator is knowledgeable and cognizant , sapient and competent ?

Yes , I do

Where do your heart and reason take you when you saw such greatness in such highly optimized universe in which the greatness- from the smallest part of matter (atom) till the largest (galaxies) - and knowledge speaks up?

There is a great creator who has all the qualities perfectionis behind it !!!I must believein that!!

Do you have the least doubt that this clever manufacturer is logically aware of his handicraft and from time to time he sends technicians conveying the directions and the catalogues so that his handicraft cansurvive damage and goes well in away that satisfies the manufacturer ?

I don't suspect

So is it logically accepted that  the Creator of this harmoniously and magnificently organized universe may leave his creatures without direction  or guidance ? God says in the Holy Quran what means in this concern "Who hath created seven heavens in harmonyThou (Muhammad) canst see no fault in the Beneficent One's creation; then look again: Canst thou see any rifts?" , it is well established that revelation and the prophets whom received these messages are true.

Man in his life enacts laws that order and prohibit and enhance them with recompense and punishment . So is it fair that man should have what God should not have ?!! Can that be logically accepted ?   Revelation is true and reckoning  is also true . Do you believe that the creator, by his handicraft , aims at an end behind his perfection?!!

Yes , I do

What about the Creator of the great well-balanced universe ?!!

If the goal behind the creation of the earth is to prepare for you a place to settle in , and the goal behind the creation of the moon is to illuminate the darkness and to facilitate the process of time calculatingand the goal behind the creation of the sun is to supply you with energy   and not to burn you and the goals behind the creation of the wind , seas and rivers are to serve you and to keep you a live and the goal behind the creation of the responsible mind  is to make you ponder and ask " What is goal and the end for which I was created and for which all of these things were compelled to be at my service and what is the goal that I was granted a tremendous mind granted with a way for searching for wisdom?

In fact the answer you will receive will go as the Quran says in this concern"Am I not your Lord?" and also " I created the jinn and humankind only that they might worship Me. "

As an integrating book , the true revelation was sent to accompany the human mind , which is so fluctuant ,in his journey ofcharging with duties to lead it to the right path if deviated and to rectify its course and to cure it if it is misguided and to protect it against the devils , this book is a bringer of good news and a Warner .

God sent His revelation at separate  intervals to meet the evolvement phases of the human needs .A mother's milk is simple to suit the weak body of the suckling baby and when he grows up he needs more complicated food to supersede the previous one .

Likewise ,The heavenly religions were sent down successively ending with Islam ,which abrogated and superseded the previous religions . Abrogating or superseding does not imply that the previous religions had some defects and shortage ; as all the religions are true but the last revelation involves all the facts  of the previous religions and even extra facts .

A man with a simple mind will find himself completely confused and distracted on thinking about a strange phenomenon that we all face and think about – This phenomenon is related  to the variety of holy books in which indifferences and conflict are  latent , the adherents of Every book allege that  their holy book is the sole preserved holy book that was sent from heaven .

So among the available books , which book is the true one to the human mind ??

The Torah , the Bible and all that were revealed from God are  right; it is not possible that God has revealed different various holy books at one time as this would lead the people to dissidence , controversy and even wars , But the true or the reality is always singled in any time by being the kibla   that people make their way to at any time. it is not the truth that people diverge from its way   .

So how can we recognize the sole true preserved book from the other diverse and incongruent  books that are available before the mind  ? The human mind should set logical fair conditions through which the human mind can acknowledge the true preserved  book – These logical terms can be outlined as follows:

Whenever you listen to God's speech , you feel that it is descending overwhelmed  by homage and beauty and it captivates the human mind and enthralls through all his being .

God's speech is miraculous under any condition and void of contradiction and distortion and obscenity .

God's book enjoins  justice and kindness, and giving to kinsfolk, and forbids lewdness and abomination and wickedness

God's speech  deems God far above what is not in conformity with His perfection and deems his messengers far above what should not be ascribed to those who conveyed His messages.

God's speech contains a mental programme that leads the human mind through successive stages into the Seen World till  he reaches the last stage where  he seems as if he looks over or perceive the world of the Unseen , at this point his belief reaches the climax of certainty of belief .

God's word must have a great way to achieve stability between man and himself , between man and his fellow brothers and between man and the universe

God's speech describes the universe going from the atom ( the smallest particle ) to galaxies (the largest bodies) and from semen to the human brain – these description should be in conformity with the discoveries of science that have been described using modern technology .

If the above-mentioned terms are not in conformity with a book which is under study , this means that this book is false and if some of this book are in conformity and others are not in conformity , this means that this book is distorted but if all the terms are in conformity with a certain book , this mean that this book is the sole preserved book which should be followed by the believers to lead them to guidance and the true religion .

The unprejudiced international  scientific studies , when applied on all the available so-called heavenly books we have – have shown for certain that the true book without the least  shadow of doubt is the holy Quran – the holy Quran stands in this respect incomparable that can not be substituted .

It is the only the book that its listeners feel as if it is coming down from the sky .(the spirit of the text)

The spirit of the text is the best evidence to this ; the spirit of the text is different from the language in which the text was revealed , the spirit of the text inspires complete submission to God that can not be easily attained , all the people , including the prophet should work their hearts and their deep understanding to attain it . God is Fair and Just with all his servants in this connection .

God says in the Holy Quran in this concern what means "Allah hath (now) revealed the fairest of statements, a Scripture consistent, (wherein promises of reward are) paired (with threats of punishment), whereat doth creep the flesh of those who fear their Lord, so that their flesh and their hearts soften to Allah's reminder. Such is Allah's guidance, where with He guideth whom He will. And him whom Allah sendeth astray, for him there is no guide.[39:23]

It is the sole book that has remaind as it was first revealed free from contradictions , indifferences and distortion

God says in the Holy Quran in this concern what means" Will they not then ponder on the Qur'an? If it had been from other than Allah they would have found therein much incongruity."[15:9]

God says also in the Holy Quran in this concern what means" . Lo! We, even We, reveal the Reminder, and lo! We verily are it's Guardian.

God also says in the Holy Quran in this concern what means"  Falsehood cannot come at it from before it or behind it. (It is) a revelation from the Wise, the Owner of Praise. [41:42]

God also says in the Holy Quran in this concern what means" Praise be to Allah Who hath revealed the Scripture unto His slave, and hath not placed therein any crookedness

This book is miraculous in its meanings and structures:

God also says in the Holy Quran in this concern what means" Say: Verily, though mankind and the Jinn should assemble to produce the like of this Quran, they could not produce the like thereof though they were helpers one of another[15:88]

God also says in the Holy Quran in this concern what means" And if ye are in doubt concerning that which We reveal unto Our slave (Muhammad), then produce a sura or the like thereof, and call your witnesses beside Allah if ye are truthful"

The Holy Quran is the only Holy Book that deems God far above what is not suitable for his perfection and also deems his messenger far above what is not suitable for the conveyors of his messages .

God also says in the Holy Quran in this concern what means" Say: He is Allah, the One! Allah, the eternally Besought of all! . He begetteth not nor was begotten. And there is none comparable unto Him.

God also says in the Holy Quran in this concern what means" We verily sent Our messengers with clear proofs, and revealed with them the Scripture and the Balance, that mankind may observe right measure; and He revealed iron, wherein is mighty power and (many) uses for mankind, and that Allah may know him who helpeth Him and His messengers, though unseen. Lo! Allah is Strong, Almighty.[27:25]

It is the sole Book that has referred to scientific facts that describe the universe from the smallest body (atom) to the biggest body (galaxy) and from the semen to the last stage of creation .All the scientific facts that the Holy Quran referred to more one thousand years ago are in conformity with the latest scientific discoveries and this proves the veracity of the message of Islam and the veracity of the prophet and the internationality of Islam.

God also says in the Holy Quran in this concern what means" We shall show them Our portents on the horizons and within themselves until it will be manifest unto them that it is the Truth. Doth not thy Lord suffice, since He is Witness over all things.[41:53]

The Holy Quran has a programme integrating the mind to rectify its faults, crookedness and cure it of its diseases

God also says in the Holy Quran in this concern what means" O mankind! There hath come unto you an exhortation from your Lord, a balm for that which is in the breasts, a guidance and a mercy for believers.

It even reminds its listener that it takes him -step by step according to the way of life – on a journey in the Seen world moving from a stage to another till when he reached the last stage , he can overlook the world of the  Unseen to attain a state of faith perfection ( It is , in this connection incomparable and can not be substituted )

God also says in the Holy Quran in this concern what means" Unto Allah belongeth the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth. Allah is Able to do all things.Lo! In the creation of the heavens and the earth and (in) the difference of night and day are tokens (of His sovereignty) for men of understanding,. Such as remember Allah, standing, sitting, and reclining, and consider the creation of the heavens and the earth, (and say): Our Lord! Thou createdst not this in vain. Glory be to Thee! Preserve us from the doom of Fire [3:198-191]

The Holy Quran embraces an international constitution that can achieve justice and balance between man and himself and between man and his fellow brother and between man and the universe (Quran in this connection is incomparable and can't be substituted )

Lo! Allah enjoineth justice and kindness, and giving to kinsfolk, and forbiddeth lewdness and abomination and wickedness.

No obscenities in Quran and it is without any word that doesn't fit God's perfection and all that it comprises are calling for monotheism  , science , purification ,justice , veracity that take man from the world of sins to the world of complete monotheism  .

God also says in the Holy Quran in this concern what means" With truth have We sent it down, and with truth hath it descended. And We have sent thee as naught else save a bearer of good tidings and a warner. [15:105]

The Holy Quran is an absolute master over the previous religions and it contains a clear text that it is the sealed book .

All the prophecies of the Holy Quran about the Unseen have come true , be the scientific or the historical Unseen . God says in this concern what means "A revelation from Him Who created the earth and the high heavens" [20:4]

Islam , God's undying final religion ( the international civilization safety band)

Islam( the Holy Quran and the sunna ) with its various aims could be epitomized in two goals :

The first Goal : monotheism and deeming God far above any imperfection and the belief that God has all the attributes of perfection and to believe in the Judgment day  ,God also says in the Holy Quran in this concern what means "Say: He is Allah, the One! Allah, the eternally Besought of all! . He begetteth not nor was begotten. . And there is none comparable unto Him.

God also says in the Holy Quran in this concern what means" We verily sent Our messengers with clear proofs, and revealed with them the Scripture and the Balance, that mankind may observe right measure .

God also says in the Holy Quran in this concern what means "Unto Allah belongeth the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth. Allah is Able to do all things.Lo! In the creation of the heavens and the earth and (in) the difference of night and day are tokens (of His sovereignty) for men of understanding, Such as remember Allah, standing, sitting, and reclining, and consider the creation of the heavens and the earth, (and say): Our Lord! Thou createdst not this in vain. Glory be to Thee! Preserve us from the doom of Fire"[3:189-191]

The soul that believes that The ever-living , the Existing , the Powerful God is the One ,whom we can resort to ,can never be desperate and the soul that believes that God is the watchful and the Just and also believes in the day of Judgment can't feel lonely or desolate , such a belief in God is the safety band for the human civilization .

The second goal : guiding people to the true life ,justice , purification and freedom

God also says in the Holy Quran in this concern what means "Lo! Allah enjoineth justice and kindness, and giving to kinsfolk, and forbiddeth lewdness and abomination and wickedness. "

God also says in the Holy Quran in this concern what means "Say: My Lord forbiddeth only indecencies, such of them as are apparent and such as are within, and sin and wrongful oppression, and that ye associate with Allah that for which no warrant hath been revealed, and that ye tell concerning Allah that which ye know not.[7:23]

God also says in the Holy Quran in this concern what means "Those who swallow usury cannot rise up save as he ariseth whom the devil hath prostrated by (his) touch. That is because they say: Trade is just like usury; whereas Allah permitteth trading and forbiddeth usury .[2:275]

In the Holy Quran you can read about what ensures the meaning of the human unity , God says in this concern what means "O mankind! Lo! We have created you male and female, and have made `you nations and tribes that ye may know one another. Lo! the noblest of you, in the sight of Allah, is the best in conduct. Lo! Allah is Knower, Aware.[49:136] In his Hadith , prophet Mohummed says , " You all are the progeny of Adam and Adam was created out of dust" and also prophet Mohummed says " There is no difference between a Moslem and a non-Moslem except by piousness "

Because of this unity and similarity in origin , Islam has called for mercy between people ,be Moslems or non Moslems , be Arabs or non Arabs . Prophet Mohammed says in this connection "those who are merciful to people  are to gain God's mercy , Be merciful to people under the sun just to gain God's mercy and pleasure " those who are under the sun includes Moslems or non Moslems ". To render a favour to people , irrespective Moslems or non-Moslems ,is considered a good deed in Islam , moreover you will be rewarded for that and it will be considered undying perpetual alms . Prophet Mohummed says in this concern " A Moslem who plants a seedling from which a man or an animal eats  will be rewarded and his dead will be regarded as  undying perpetual alms " So , as you see , Islam has called for the general availing for all people and even for all living things ; also prophet Mohummed said " a believer is the person whom people are at safety of his evils", in this Hadith prophet Mohummed said " people not Moslems ; and healso said " A Moslem is the person whom people are safe and not harmed by his hand or his tongue ( backbiting  ) " . These sublime meanings reflect the unity of humanity in Islam ;no difference between a certain race and another ; no racial discrimination between man according the colour of complexion , no racial discrimination according to the religion followed , that is , philanthropy and charity should be given by man to his fellow men , irrespective of their  race ,sex, or religion .

To make it easy to be compared and assimilated , let's introduce these few words about war in Islam: Islam made fighting against injustice and oppression  the essential base in war ,that is to keep the conditions stable and peaceful and to suppress turmoil and disturbances that inflict woes and calamities on humanity . Wars in Islam are not for nothing , war in Islam is a means of reforming crookedness  and enhancing peace and security on the earth . Never did history witness that Islam ignored this base in wars ,  No wonder if you perceive examples of nobility, mercy and  justices in the Islamic wars as they were based on the above mentioned base. the eithics of wars are various , propht Mohummed ordered his worriors not to kill a woman or an old man or a young child and not to drown palms trees or trees and not to demolish a house ; Moslem did not only disdained killing the weak but also –as they were exhorted by the prophet –they were not supercilious or insolent with them and Moslems  were demanded not to hurt their feelings ; nobility in war reached a point in which prophet Mohummed  did not exclude the prisoners of wars from good treatment , prophet Mohummmed said " Give good treatment to the  prisoners, don't deprive them of water , let them have a siesta , let them not suffer the heat of the sun plus the suffering that they have been afflicted during the process of the war ." These are the ethics of the Holy Quran that appear in God's praise for the devoted Moslems , God says in the Holy Quran in this concern what means  "And feed with food the needy wretch, the orphan and the prisoner, for love of Him "

In this verse , God has made treating the prisoners well worship to Him and currying for His pleasure, so now where is that religion that is greater than this religion and is there a clearer proof than this- this religion is the true one ? !!!

Studies and references and neutral unbiased polemics regarding the science of religion comparison have assured this fact , moreover the Holy Book uphold this fact .

And , now , we are in a world that looks much like a jungle of beasts and monkeys , a world that makes its way to implosion and destruction because of the social diseases .Denying the existence of God and the Day of Reckoning have driven people to a state of depression and loneliness, so obscenities , crimes and drugs pervaded , moreover selfish people invented the law of usury (the bases of oppression ) and as a result the crimes of violence increased and the reaction of the oppressed have grown . Fatal diseases such as  mad-cow disease (BSE – Bovine Spongiform Encephalitis ) , ADS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) ,the long –term complication of drugs , raping , robbery , murder crimes and oppression have increased at wide scale  ; no solution to be attained unless you follow Islam , the safety band – Islam that stands incomparable and without a substitute , the happiness of humanity is latent in  all that Islam legalized and the miseries of humanity is latent in all that Islam banned .

Lo , the nation of monotheism !!

The reason behind the ignominy and the disgrace that you suffer from is due to seceding  from the pure fountain and the safety oasis that is under the protection of God , Who, if He wants something to be , He just says to it " be and it will be" – that is Islam .

It is your turn now to compare between your situation now and the situation you had under the banner of Islam .

My dear brother in humanity ;

Don't lose hope in coming back to the true identity of Islam and to be reunited again with it – you should make it the most important goal before your death . In your quest of the truth , you have to be energetic and  depend on science , intellect , mercy , amity and wisdom , exert no effort to exhort this important goal for which you were created , don't forget that whoever seeks refuge with God won't be desperate and whoever put the complete trust in God , God will suffice him

'AZAAN' - An Amazing Miracle!

'AZAAN' - An Amazing Miracle!

Also a fulfillment of Biblical Prophecy

By Shahid Bin Waheed

Azaan: is an incredible medium for the proclamation of Tawheed (Oneness of God) of Almighty Allaah and Risalaat (Prophethood) of Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam, this Islaamic prayer call (sounding words) to Muslims, which constantly echoes around the globe five times every day.

Amazing though it sounds, but fortunately for the Muslims of the world, it is an established fact. Have a look at a map of the world and you will find Indonesia (an Islaamic country) right on the eastern side of the earth. Indonesia consists of numerous small islands, the principle ones amongst them being Java, Sumatra, Borneo and Saibil, all of which are well known. It is the largest country in the world, with 180 million inhabitants.

As soon as dawn breaks on the eastern side of Saibil, at approximately 5:30 am local time, Fajr Azaan begins. Thousands of Muâazzins in eastern Indonesia commence proclaiming the Tawheed (oneness) of the Almighty, Omnipotent and Omniscient Allaah and Risalaat (Universal Apostleship) of the Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam.

The process then continues and advances towards the Western Islands of Indonesia. The time difference between the eastern and western islands of Indonesia is one and a half hours. Hence, one and a half hours after the Azaan has been completed in Saibil, it echoes in Jakarta on Java Island. Sumatra then follows suit and before this auspicious process of calling Azaan ends in Indonesia, it has already begun in Malaysia. Burma is next in line, and within an hour of its commencement in Jakarta, it reaches Dacca, the capital city of Bangladesh. No sooner the calling of Azaan ends in Bangladesh, it has already prevailed in western India, from Calcutta to Srinagar. It then advances towards Bombay and the environment of entire India resounds with this august proclamation.

Srinagar and Sialkot (a city in north Pakistan) have the same timing for Azaan. The time difference between Sialkot, Kota, Karachi and Gowadar (a city in Baluchistan, a province of Pakistan) is forty minutes, and within this time, Fajr (Dawn) Azaan is heard throughout Pakistan. Before it ends there, however, it has already begun in Afghanistan and Muscat. The time difference between Muscat and Baghdad is one hour. Azaan resounds during this one hour in the environments of Hijaaz-e-Muqaddas (Holy cities of Makkah and Madinah), Yemen, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and Iraq.

The time difference between Baghdad and Alexandria in Egypt is again one hour. Azaan continues to resound in Syria, Egypt, Somalia and Sudan during this hour. Alexandria and Istanbul are situated on the same geographical longitude. The time difference between eastern and western Turkey is one and a half hours, and during this time it is echoed with the call to prayer.

Alexandria and Tripoli (capital of Libya) are located at an hour of difference from one another. The process of calling Azaan thus continues throughout the whole of Africa. Therefore, the proclamation of the Oneness of Allaah and the Prophethood of Muhammad Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam that had begun in the eastern islands of Indonesia reaches the Eastern Shore of the Atlantic Ocean after nine and a half hours.

Prior to the Azaan reaching the shores of the Atlantic, the process of Zohar Azaan has already commenced in eastern Indonesia, and before it reaches Dacca, Asar Azaan has started. This has hardly reached Jakarta one and half hours later, and then the time of Maghrib becomes due, and no sooner has Maghrib time reached Sumatra, then the time for calling Isha Azaan has commenced in Saibil! When the Muâazzins of Indonesia are calling out Fajr Azaan, the Muâazzins in Africa are calling out the Azaan for Isha.

If we were to ponder over this phenomenon seriously and studiously, we would conclude the amazing fact that: 'There is not a single moment when thousands if not hundreds of thousands of Muâazzins around the world are not proclaiming the Oneness of Almighty Allaah and the Prophethood of the noble Prophet MuhammadSallallahu Alayhi Wasallam on the face of this earth!' Insha Allaah, this Azaan (universal call) for five times everyday will continue till the Day of Judgment, AMEEN.

Fulfillment of Biblical Prophecy

Psalms 149: 1-9

149:001 Praise ye the LORD. Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints. 149:002 Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the children of Zion be joyful in their King. 149:003 Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp. 149:004 For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation. 149:005 Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds. 149:006 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand; 149:007 To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people; 149:008 To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; 149:009 To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the LORD.

A careful reading of this prophecy reveals that in this prophecy the promised Prophet is portrayed as king and his followers as the holy and righteous. This means that the promised prophet would be a king who would exercise the sword for the glory of the God while avenging the heathens to execute God’s worth. The followers of promised prophet will wage war against the infidels. The particular characterization of the followers of promised prophet in the above prophecy there remains no doubt that it is about Muhammad (SAW) and his followers. Glorious Qur’aan says in 3:191!

Those who remember Allâh (always, and in prayers) standing, sitting, and lying down on their sides, and think deeply about the creation of the heavens and the earth, (saying): "Our Lord! You have not created (all) this without purpose, glory to You! (Exalted are You above all that they associate with You as partners). Give us salvation from the torment of the Fire.

Muslims recite and hymn the glory of the God in their prayers five times a day, during the war, in their prayers calls five times a day, during the month of Ramadan, during their two Eids, during their Hajj (pilgrimage to Makkah for ten days each year) including all along the route and during their sojourn to Mina, Muzdalfa, and Arafaat and while circumambulating the Kaa’bah declaring the Greatness and Majesty of the God (Allaah). Contrary to this Jews and Christians use music, trumpets, coronets and bells that is to say meaningless activities in their service or congregation. They have no articles of faith and creed. Therefore, the glorification of the Lord mentioned in this prophecy is exclusive to Muhammad (SAW) and his followers alone.

Muslims conquests with their two-edged swords as mentioned in the prophecy beginning from conquest of Makkah in the lifetime of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) leading to the fall of Syria, Byzantine, Persia, Egypt, Constantinople, and many other countries with the capture of many of the rulers and nobles by the hands of Muhammad’s (SAW) followers is not alien to history. Jews and Christians cannot claim this prophecy to be about any prophet especially Jesus. References: http://www.islam-is-the-only-solution.com/ot13.htm

A Real Believer Love Allah anyhow

The Real Believer is the one who love Allah and accept his fate and work hard to strengthen his believes in him and thank him for his mercy and love!!?

Lets have look at this verses from Holy Quraan And meditate :

Allah said: ( And who despairs of the mercy of his God but the erring ones ) {Al-Hijr56}

He said also: ( Who, when a misfortune befalls them, they say: Surely we are Allah's and to Him we shall surely return *  Those upon them prayers from Their God And mercy And those are the rightly guided ) {Al-Baqara156*157}

Dear Brothers & Sisters this is a real story for our Brother Khaldoon Sinjab who defeated desperation and became the best programmer in the middle east because he believed in Allah fate and mercy.

I want to tell you something very important that Khaldoon will go directly to Paradise without being judging by Allah because of his health situation (this is Allah Mercy)!!?.

A month before the accident. 17 years old.

In His own words will tell us his story:

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

Praise be to Allah, who created me and graced me with my life. He is the one who has the power to give life to decomposed bones. Praise be to Allah, who granted me senses of hearing, seeing and insight to enable me to muse over his kingdom. Praise be to Allah, who favored me with a mind with it he guided me to the right, and blessed me with a heart with it he established me on Islam. Praise be to Allah, who formed me a tongue to extol him with it, and to eulogize his noble prophet Muhammad with his blessing and peace be upon his prophet and upon his prophet's family and companions altogether.

The Accident

It was September 1st, 1994, when I was swimming in the sea of Tartoos (a coastal Syrian city) beach. I got on a boat which was getting near to the seashore without me paying attention. I jumped into the water but it was too shallow so my head collided with the seabed. Then I became unconscious for a moment. When I woke up there were some people carrying me holding my hands and legs looking for a car to go to a hospital hurriedly. I could not speak. In the car I became unconscious again and I started to suffocate and became cyanotic, then somebody blew in my mouth to enable me to breath until we arrive at the hospital. In the hospital, they decided that I must be taken to Damascus (capital of Syria).

In Damascus, the photographs showed a break in the dens (odontoid process) of the second cervical vertebra (C1/C2 level), which caused a chronic spinal cord injury. The injury was at top of the cervical column, so I become a quadriplegic. Because of diaphragm paralysis, I become a ventilator dependent. I stayed in intensive care units, connected to a ventilator, for about 7 months, moving between 4 hospitals. Finally, my father decided to import a home ventilator. So, I moved home.

Me at home

My Family

The impact of the accident on my family was too hard, especially on my mom whom had diseased by cancer soon. She died on 24 April 1997 (Allah have mercy on her). She made every effort to find a cure for me. Whenever she heard about a doctor, sheikh or pretender she bring him to me or take me to him. I did not even rescued from quacks and monks (Allah grant her forgiveness). She gave me (since my tender age) her best care especially in scientific fields. My mother Hanan Al-qahwaji studied the high school after we (Kholood, Maisoon and me) were born. Then she studied in the college of mathematics. Because she was excellent she was assigned as a lecturer in the college of mathematics of Damascus. ( Allah put her in your vast paradises ).

My father spared no effort for curing me. He spent what is valuable and precious. He traveled to Russiaand brought best Russian professors. They performed one of the best surgery in spinal cord transplantation. The surgery lasted more than 14 hours. My father is an architect, graduated from Sarajevo in Bosnia (Yugoslavia formerly). After the accident, my father got married to Nadia Al-hlaibi who gave birth to my brothers and sister Mohammad and Hoda (7 years twins) and Abd-Al-majeed (6 years) and As'ad (4 years). My father is still (in addition to Kholood) looking after me. Allah bless him and prolong his life.

The accident had a deep effect on my sisters, especially after the death of my mom (Allah have mercy on her), which was just before the high school exams of my sister Maisoon. In spite of that she succeeded and studied institute of commerce and graduated after two years. She married No'man As-samman. They were blessed with their son Qais and with their daughter Joori. My sister Kholood had graduated from pharmacology college in the university of Damascus. My sisters took care of me together with my mother and father. After the death of my mother, and after Maisoon got married, my father and Kholood are looking after me, also my stepmother Nadia helps them. Allah bless them all.

My Youth

Allah bestowed upon me by raising me well. He granted me my mother (Allah let her rest in peace) who made her best to bring me up. She oriented me toward reading, and surrounded me with valuable scientific books. After preparatory school, mom enrolled me in English, electronics and programming (using QBasic language) courses, which had a critical role in my life later. I got my high school diploma in 1994 summer with distinction. I was capable of registering in medicine college and scientific researches institute, but I registered in the electronics engineering college at Damascus university because of my passion for electronics and computers.

My Return

I spent more than 7 months in intensive care rooms surrounded by my family and my friends whom were the best support during my tribulation. I mention of them my aunt Hind Al-qahwaji and my friends Hasan Al-kordi, Samir Abu-qoba', Hazem, Manal, Fadi Sinjab and Nizar Moslih.

A few months after I returned home, my uncle Sameer Al-qahwaji rented a computer for me for a month. A period that was enough to bring me back to programming world. Then, I got some Arabic books about programming. So, I learned C language. Then, I started reading English books about C++ language and 3D programming. My friends Sami Sinjab and Mazen Al-refa'i presented me with the most important books. I translated two books from them into Arabic with help of a lot of people such as Mary Potros, Carmen Sinjab and Leena Al-hlaibi. I was reading using a tool for lifting books created by my friend Mahran Al-kordi. All of that still impractical until my uncle brought a computer for me. So, I started applying what I have learned.

My Relationships

At first, my relation with the outside world was limited to my friends who were visiting me constantly. Allah blessed me with a lot of friends from various ages and cultures. Most of them I met after the accident. They take care of me with love and don't withhold any hand. I mention of them in addition of whom I mentioned Fadi Jamoos who persisted in visiting me since he knew me, Fakhr Addeen To'ma, Moneer Sinjab, Rana, Warf, Abd Al-azeez Abu-qoba', Mazen, Emad, Mo'awia, Moaiad, Mo'tasim, Momin, Muhammad Al-refa'i, Hosain Al-ali, Eesa Othman, Muhammad, Hamed and Taofeek Assohli.

I still locked at home until my friends took me in 1995 summer to the house of my friend Hasan Al-kordi in At-tal in the country of Damascus for ten days. Since then, my friends keep tooking me in summers until my friend Hasan traveled for studding. Now I spend summer with my family in there home in At-tal in the country of Damascus.

My relation with the outside world developed after I got an Internet connection with help from my cousin Mo'awia Al-refa'i. So, I gained friends around the hole globe. Many of them saw me via photos only. This site has become a great mean of communication with the others.

At Home working

My Job

By help of my friends Dr. Naseem Rateeb and Eng. Osama Al-masri, I have been working at Tiger Production since September 1999. It's the programming affiliate of Young Future, an entertaining and educational media company for kids, It's affiliated by Venus for media production and SpaceToon Space Channel. I have many contributions with Tiger Production. I have gained a lot of experiences and friends during my work. I mention Engineers Samir Hanbali, Samir Salmah, Ahmad Al-'os and Moder Naqshbandi.

My Communication Means

Because of my handicapping, I can't use keyboard nor mouse. I was communicating with the computer trough an employee who was applying what I instruct her. I mention Hana Mostafa and Dalal. I was seeing the results using a displaying screen placed beside me. My friend Eng. Eed Obaid tried to make an electronic mouse for me but his trial didn't succeed. Then my friend Dr. Naseem Rateeb made a mouse for me to use with my lower lip and my tongue. For the first time, I was able to communicate with the computer by myself. The mouse had been developed into several stages until it became in its current state with help from my brother-in-law No'man As-samman and my friend Fakhr Addeen To'ma.

Using my own virtual keyboard application, I was able to write using the mouse. I have used it to write this text.

With help from my friend Eng. Osama Al-masri and Young Future managers, I get a LCD displaying screen which is placed over my head by efforts from my friend Badr Ad-deen to'ma. It is much more comfortable than the old one.

My Health

My health situation is almost stable. A nurse takes care of me in the morning. My friend lawyer and physical therapist Ghassan Eesani does a daily physical therapy to me. I have been turned on my side every othor day for a few hours. I suffered from problems such as pressure sores (bed sores), I recovered from most of them except one on my back. With help from my cousin Dr. Mazen Sinjab and my friend Eng. Samir Salma I fixed my myopia using glasses. My friend Dr. Thafer Al-refa'i checkups on my tooths and treats them. I got a severe aerothorax which caused atelectasis and ectopia in the left lung and heart to the right side. Islam is your Birthright

Islam is your Birthright

By Compiled by Majed S. Al-Rassi

Edited by Dr. Bilal Philips

Each person is born in a religious environment that is not of his/her own choice. From the very beginning of human existence in this world, they are assigned the religion of their family or the ideology of the state. By the time individuals reach their teens they usually accept the beliefs of their parents or that of their particular society.

However, when some people mature and are exposed to other beliefs and ideologies, they begin to question the validity of their own beliefs.

Seekers of truth often reach a point of confusion upon realizing that believers of every religion, sect, ideology and philosophy all claim to have the one and only correct religion or ideology. There are only three possibilities. They are either all correct; all wrong or only one is correct and the rest are wrong. They cannot all be right since all religions are different from each other in their fundamentals. Furthermore, the majority claim that they alone are correct and the rest are wrong. On the other hand, to claim that they are all wrong is to deny that God revealed His will to humankind.

This proposition is absurd to those who believe in a Wise Creator. So, which religion is the right one and how can the seeker of truth know it? This is the subject of the booklet in your hands.

In beginning one’s search for which religion is true, one should keep in mind four things in mind:

First, God gave us abilities and intellects to make the crucial decision: WHAT IS THE TRUE RELIGION?

Second, God, the Most Compassionate, did not leave us to go astray without any guidance. Indeed, He sent us prophets with scriptures to show us the right path.

Third, seeking the true religion should be the most important thing in one’s life because the everlasting life to come depends on it.[1]

Fourth, one can determine the true path and make a rational and correct decision only if emotions and prejudices, which often blind one to reality, are put aside.

I. PURPOSE FOR CREATION

Have you ever wondered about the reason of our existence? Have you ever wondered why we die, and where we go after death? What will happen to us in the end? Have you ever asked yourself why God made the earth and all that is in it under man’s dominion? Why were the night and the day, and the sun and the moon created? What are we supposed to do during our lifetime? Were we created just to eat, drink, and enjoy ourselves before we die? As one poet put it: “I do not know whence I have come. I saw my feet walking on the road.

As they please I go and stop. What am I doing here?

How did the road find me? I do not know! I do not know! I do not know! ”

God has emphasized in many verses of the Qur’an[2] that He did not create us without purpose. He said: What! Do you think that I created you simply in jest ? And that you would not be returned to Me?”[3] (23:115) He also said: “What! Does man think that he will be left to roam at his will?” (75:36)In addition, He said: “Do people think that they will be left to say: “We believe,” and they will not be held accountable?(29:2)

Indeed, God Has created human beings for a purpose and with a purpose:

TO WORSHIP HIM ALONE (Monotheism). He said: “I have not created the Jinn and humankind except only to worship Me. I don't require provision or feeding from them. Surely Allah[4]is the All-provider, the Possessor of all strength, the Firm.” (51:56-58)In fact, all prophets told their people to worship God alone (Monotheism) and shun worshipping His creation (Paganism). God said: “I assuredly sent among every people a messenger with the command: Worship Allah and avoid worshipping false gods.” (16:36)

upon him). Elaborate definition of Qur'an is explained on page 22.

Prophet Abraham, for example, believed in One God, who had no partner.

Anyone who holds a different understanding of God than this has contradicted the religion of Abraham and follows falsehood. God says in the Qur’an: “Those who reject the religion of Abraham make fools of themselves.” (2:130)

Prophet Jesus was reported in the Gospels to have said: “It is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve Him only’.” (Luke 4:8)

Prophet Jacob also said (in the Quran) to his people: “Indeed, those which you worship besides Allah are only names that you and your forefathers have established, for which Allah has sent down no authority. The command belongs only to Allah. He has commanded that you worship none but Him. That is the right religion, but most people do not understand.” (12:40)

II. THE BASIC MESSAGE OF ISLAM

The basic message of Islam is the same message of all the previous prophets: worship God alone and avoid worshipping anything besides Him, whether it is a person, place or thing, directly or indirectly. This basic principle of Monotheism is contained in the opening chapter of the Qur’an, known as Soorat al-Faatihah, verse 4: “You alone we worship and from you alone we do seek help.” In (4:37), God also said: Worship Allah and do not associate partners with Him.Muhammad, the last Prophet (mercy and peace of God be upon him) is reported to have said: “Anyone who says: There is no god worthy of worship but Allah, and dies holding that belief will be granted paradise.”[5]

III. PROOFS FOR GOD'S RIGHT OF WORSHIP

Only God should be worshipped because He is the Creator and sustainer of all that exists. This Great Universe and everything that is in it cannot be the product of chance, and could not have created itself. Signs testifying that God is the only Creator can be seen throughout the earth and in the very soul of each person. God said in the Qur’an: It is Allah who created the sky and the earth, and sent down from the sky water by which He brought forth fruits for your sustenance. He subjected for you the ships to sail upon the sea at His command, and He subjected for you the rivers. And He subjected for you the sun and moon in continuous cycles, and He subjected for you the night and day. And He gave you all you asked Him for .” (14:32-34)

In the Qur’an, God mentions Prophet Abraham’s search for truth as an example of how those who follow God’s signs will be rightly guided to the worship of Him alone; God said: “In this way I showed Abraham the kingdom of the heavens and the earth so that he would have faith with understanding and certainty. When the night covered him with darkness, he saw a star and said: ‘This is my Lord’, but when it set, he said: ‘I don’t like those that set.’ When he saw the moon rising up, he said: ‘This is my Lord’, but when it set, he said: ‘Unless my Lord guides me, I will certainly be among the people who went astray.’ When he saw the sun rising up he said: ‘This is my Lord, this is the greatest of all.’ But when it set, he said: ‘O my people! I am indeed free from what you join as partners with Allah. Verily, I have turned my face towards Allah who created the heavens and the earth and I reject those who associate partners with Allah (in worship).(6:75-79) Actually, in the Qur’an God calls people to continuously look at the Universe, as this will affirm the divine truth of His existence, His greatness and that He alone should be worshipped.

God alone deserves our worship because only He can answer our prayers. God says in the Qur’an: And your Lord says: Call on Me and I will answer your prayer.” (40:60)Hence, if a human being prays to an idol and his prayers are answered, it is not the idol which actually answered his prayers but God. Similarly, prayers to Jesus Christ, Buddha, Krishna, Saint Christopher, Saint Jude or to Prophet Muhammad, are not answered by them, but are answered by God. Consequently, prayer is an act of worship which should be directed to God alone.

Indeed, prophets who are worshipped besides Him did not tell people to worship them. Instead, the prophets warned their people against doing just that. For example, Islam teaches that Prophet Jesus (mercy and peace of God be upon him) was a human being who was created by God in a miraculous way. He was born of a mother, Mary, without a father and he worshipped God. He was not God, nor was he the son of God. He was neither one of three manifestations of God as Christians say, nor was he the son of a prostitute as the Jews say. He told his people (the tribes of Israel) to worship God alone. He did not tell people to worship either himself or his mother. Furthermore, Prophet Jesus (mercy and peace of God be upon him) did not worship himself when he worshipped, rather he worshipped God.

However, those who claim to be the followers of Jesus Christ today worship Jesus himself, claiming that he is God, and others also worship his mother calling her ‘the mother of God.’! God says in the Qur’an that He will ask Prophet Jesus (mercy and peace of God be upon him) on the Day of Judgment: “O Jesus, son of Mary! Did you tell people: Take me and my mother as gods besides Allah? Then he will say: Glory to you, I could never say what I had no right to say. If I had said it, You would have known it, You know what is within myself, but I do not know what is within Yourself. Verily, You alone are the Knower of the unseen. I did not say to them except what You commanded me; to worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord, and I was a witness over them as long as I was among them, but when You raised me up, You were the observer over them, and You are the witness over all things.” (5:116 - 117)

God emphasizes in the Qur’an that Prophet Jesus (mercy and peace of God be upon him) was neither killed nor crucified, but God raised him up into the heavens in body and spirit and he will be returned to the earth before the end of the world. Prophet Muhammad (mercy and peace of God be upon him) stated that Prohet Jesus would rule the earth according to the Islamic law, then he will die on earth like other human beings and will be buried and resurrected like them on the Day of Judgment. Hence, Prophet Jesus who was given life, was born from a woman’s womb and circumcised, ate, slept, went to the toilet, grew up, prayed, and will die, should never be taken as God as all these characteristics are not the attributes of God, but of His creatures.

The New Testament states that Jesus Christ taught his followers to pray to God saying: Our Father [6] who art in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” (Luke 11:2 / Matthew 6:9-10)Also, he taught that only those who submit to God would inherit paradise: “None of those who call me ‘Lord’ will enter the Kingdom of God, except one who does the will of my Father in heaven.”(Matthew 7:21) Prophet Jesus also pointed out that he himself submitted to the will of God: “I cannot do anything of myself. I judge as I hear and my judgment is honest because I am not seeking my own will but the will of Him who sent me.” (John 5:23)

In fact, there are many reports in the Gospels that show that Prophet Jesus made it clear to his followers that he was not God. For example, when speaking about the final hour, he said: “No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, not the Son [7], but only the Father.” (Mark 13:32)

Buddha, was a reformer who introduced a number of humanistic principles in the Hindu religion practiced in India. He did not claim to be God, nor did he suggest to his followers that he be worshipped. Yet, today most Buddhists have made him their God and they prostrate themselves before idols representing his likeness. In brief, from the perspective of the object worshipped, all religions today [except Islam] invite people to the worship of creation!

God’s attributes point to the fact that God alone deserves worship. He is One, without relatives; He has neither father, son, mother nor wife. He is the Eternal Absolute. He neither gives birth, nor is He born, and there is nothing like Him. He is perfect in His knowledge, in His power, in His will, in His mercy and in all His other attributes. God is all-powerful and perfect, while human beings are weak and imperfect. That is how He defined Himself and how all prophets defined Him.

Another proof that God alone deserves to be worshipped can be found within the human soul. Islam teaches that all human beings have imprinted on their souls an awareness of God and a natural inclination towards worshipping Him alone imprinted on their souls. In the Qur’an, God explained that when He created Adam He caused all of Adam’s descendants to come into existence and then He took a pledge from all of them saying: “Am I not your Lord? To which they all replied: Yes, we testify to it.” God then explained why He had all of humankind bear witness that He is their Creator and only true God worthy of worship: “That is in case you, humankind, may say on the Day of Resurrection: Indeed we were unaware of this.” God further elaborated on this point saying: “It is also in case you may say: It was our ancestors who made partners with Allah, and we are only their descendants, will you then destroy us for what those liars did?” (7:173)Hence, people who associate partners with God in worship cannot claim on that day that they had no idea that Allah was the only god who deserved to be worshipped.

Prophet Muhammad (mercy and peace of God be upon him) reported that God said: “I created my slaves upon the right religion, but devils made them go astray.”[8] He also said: “Each child is born in a state of Islam. Then his parents make him a Jew, Christian or a Zoroastrian.”[9]

Thus, Islam is the birthright of every human being, since every child is born with a natural belief in the existence of God and an inborn inclination towards worshipping Him alone. Just as the child submits to the physical laws which God has imposed on the physical world, in the same way its soul also submits naturally to the fact that God is the only Lord and Creator. But if their parents are following a different path, the child is usually not strong or aware enough to recognize the truth or resist the will of the parents. In such cases, the religion which the child follows is one of custom and upbringing. But God, the Most Merciful and Compassionate, will not hold him to account or punish him for following a false religion before he reaches the age of reason and is exposed to the pure message of Islam.

IV. THE MESSAGE OF FALSE RELIGIONS

False religions, on the other hand, all teach the worship of creation (Paganism) in one way or another. Some religions call to idolatry indirectly while proclaiming God’s unity, while others openly call to the worship of other gods besides God or along with God, instead of calling to the worship of God alone (pure Monotheism). Idolatry is the greatest sin that a human being commit because it equates the Creator with the creation and diverts worship from the Creator to the creation. It also contradicts the very purpose for which humans were created; the worship of God alone.

One who dies in a state of idolatry has sealed his or her fate in the next life.

This is not an opinion, but a divinely revealed fact stated by God in the Qur’an: “Verily, Allah will not forgive joining of partners with Him, but He may forgive sins less than that for whomsoever He wishes.” (4:48 & 116)

Man should not worship other than God because it makes no sense to worship the creation which is weak in nature, and neglect the Creator who controls the whole Universe! God says in the Qur’an: Do they attribute to Me partners who created nothing but are themselves created? They can neither help others nor can they help themselves. And if you call them to guidance they will not follow you. It is the same for you whether you call them or you keep silent. Certainly, those whom you call upon besides Allah are slaves like yourselves. So call upon them and let them answer you if you are truthful. Do they have feet with which they walk, hands with which they hold, eyes with which they see? Or do they have ears with which they hear?” (7:190-195)

The following is an example of a sign revealed by God to a man to show him the error of his idol-worship.

In the southeastern region of the Amazon jungle in Brazil, South America, a primitive tribe erected a new hut to house their main idol Skwatoo, representing the supreme God of all creation! The following day a young man entered the hut to pay homage to his god. While he was prostrating to what he had been taught was his creator and sustainer, a mangy, old and flea-ridden dog slunk into the hut. The young man looked up just in time to see the dog lift its hind leg and pass urine on the idol. Outraged, the young man chased the dog out of the temple, but when his rage died down, he realized that the idol could not be the Lord of the Universe. God must be elsewhere, he concluded. As strange as it may seem, the dog urinating on the idol was a sign from God for that young man that his idol does not deserve to be worshipped. This sign contained the divine message that what he was worshipping was false. It liberated him from slavishly following his traditionally learned worship of a false god. As a result, this man was given a choice: either to seek the true God or to continue in the error of his ways.

V. GOD AND HIS CREATION

Islam emphasizes that God and His creation are distinctly different entities. God is neither a part of His creation nor is He mixed in with it.

His creation is neither equal to Him in His attributes nor a part of Him.

Indeed, God is the Most High; He is above all creation, above the heavens and above His Throne, as He informed us about Himself in the Qur’an and in the previous scriptures. This might seem obvious, but man’s worship of creation instead of the Creator is to a large degree based on ignorance or negligence of this fact. The wrong belief that the essence of God is everywhere in His creation or that He is a part of His creation, has provided justification for the worship of God’s creation. Philosophical idol worshipers justify their idolatry by saying that they do not actually worship the stone or metal image, but God who becomes concentrated in it during their rituals of worship! They claim that the stone idol is only a focal point for God’s essence and is not itself God! Anyone who accepts the concept of God being present in any way within His creation will be obliged to accept this argument in justification of idolatry.

Actually, those who have claimed divinity for themselves down through the ages have often based their claims on the mistaken belief that God is present in humans. Taking this belief one step further, they claim that God is more present in them than in others, and that other humans should therefore submit to them and worship them as God incarnate or as God concentrated within their person. Similarly, those who have asserted that others were God, after their deaths, have found fertile ground among those who accept the false belief of God’s presence in man.

Some idol worshippers try to justify what they are doing by saying: “We treat idols as mediators and intercessors between us and God.” This is also an incorrect belief because God does not need mediators between Him and people. He hears everything and knows all the needs of His creation. In fact, this argument reduces God to the level of His creatures who often use intermediaries to achieve their goals. In hundreds of Qur’anic verses God invites humans to have a direct relationship with Him without any mediator or intercessor, and He prohibits them from worshipping anything other than Him under any circumstance or for any justification. God, the Most Wise, did not prescribe for people religious rites that would affect the direct relationship between Himself and humans, such as baptism confession, or belief in man as a savior, or as an intermediary. Indeed, God is too great and perfect to will a thing that would lower Himself to a level of weakness and inferiority. To claim that God humbled Himself and took a human form is to claim that He became feeble. And to claim that He decided to die means that He decided to be as weak as His weakest creature. It also means that those who were alive when He died would have been superior to Him!

To conclude, all false religions have in common one basic concept with regard to God; that God and His creation are one. They either claim that all men are God, or that specific men are God, or that nature is God, or that God is a figment of man’s imagination or that man is a mediator between people and God. Thus, it may be said that false religions invite humans to the worship of creation instead of the Creator by calling the creation or some aspect of it ‘God’.

VI. THE RELIGION’S NAME

Another evidence that Islam is the true religion can be identified by the meaning of the word “Islam” itself. Basically, the word ' Islam ' is an Arabic word that denotes submission and obedience. As a religion, Islam has two meanings; general and specific. Islam in general, refers to the religion which God revealed to all prophets: The worship of God alone (Monotheism) and the avoidance of Paganism. This explains why in the Qur'an all prophets call themselves Muslims.[10] However, the word Islam also specifically refers to the religion that was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (mercy and peace of God be upon him). None of the ‘previous religions’ were given specifically their name by God, except for this last religion - Islam.

Islam was not named after a person or a group of people, nor was it decided upon by later generations of humans. Indeed, the name Islam was given by God Himself as is clearly mentioned in the Qur’an in many verses (e.g. “Indeed religion with Allah is Islam.”[3:19]).On the other hand, Christianity was named after Jesus Christ (by its followers), and Judaism after the tribe of Judah. However, it is not mentioned anywhere in the Bible that the religion of the followers of Prophets Isaac and Moses and their descendants is called Judaism, or that the religion of the followers of Christ[11] is called Christianity. In other words, the names ‘Judaism’ and Latin. Jesus is the English equivalent and Latin form of the Greek ‘Iesous’, which in ‘Christianity’ had no divine origin or approval. It was not until long after Jesus' departure that the name Christianity was given to the religion of those claiming to be his followers. The same applies for Buddhism, which was named after Gautama Buddha, Confucianism after Confucius, Marxism after Karl Marx, and Hinduism after the Hindus and so on.

VII. THE SIX ARTICLES OF ISLAMIC FAITH

Islamic belief is based on the following six fundamental articles of faith:

1. Belief in God. This includes the following beliefs:

Belief in God’s existence. The existence of man and the entire universe is not a mere accident or the product of chance. This universe and everything that is in it manifests and points to the realization of a Creator.

Belief that God is the Creator, the Sustainer, the Owner of the Universe and its contents, the provider of everything, the Giver of life and the Causer of death.

Hebrew is ‘Yeshua’. ‘Christos’ is a Greek translation of the Hebrew ‘messiah’, which means ‘the anointed’.

Belief that God is the only One who has the right to be worshipped.

Belief that God’s names and attributes are unique to Him.

2. Belief in the Angels

Angels are creatures created by God for specific functions in this world. They are normally invisible and they have no free will; they do as God commands them. They are not to be worshipped. Angel Gabriel was responsible for taking revelation to the prophets. Two angels are assigned to every human being to record their good and evil deeds. Another angel accompanies each human being encouraging him/her to do good deeds.

Others blow the human spirit into the fetus when it reaches the end of the fourth month and others take the human spirit at the time of its death by God’s permission. There are other angels that have other responsibilities too many to enumerate in this small booklet.[12]

3. Belief in the Scriptures

This article of faith refers to belief in all the scriptures revealed by God to His messengers in their original form. These scriptures form the enlightenment which the messengers received to show their people the right Al-Othaimeen, published at Alhidaayah, U.K.. path of God. All the revealed books call to the worship of God alone and avoidance of worshipping other than Him or others besides Him. However, due to the difference between nations in time and locations, there was some difference in the canonical teachings (Law) between scriptures according to the wisdom of God.

Muslims believe in the previous books mentioned in the Qur’an: the books of Abraham (Suhuf), the Scripture of Moses (Torah), the Psalms of David (Zaboor) and the Gospel of Prophet Jesus (Al-Injeel). However, long before the advent of Prophet Muhammad (mercy and peace of God be upon him), they had all been lost or distorted by later generations over the centuries. They were polluted with myths, superstitions, idolatry and irrational philosophical beliefs, carrying contradicting thoughts. Hence, the original scriptures are no longer in existence. A brief historical review, for example, of the evolution of Christianity from pure monotheism into tritheism within the first 400 years after Jesus’ departure clearly illustrates this process of degeneration.[13]

The Qur’an

However, God, the Most Compassionate, didn't leave man to go astray without an unadulterated reference. Indeed, He revealed the Qur’an and promised to preserve it as the final revelation for humankind for all times. It is the word of God which He revealed to Prophet Muhammad (mercy and peace of God be upon him) through the Angel Gabriel. It was revealed in parts over a period of 23 years. The Prophet Muhammad (mercy and peace of God be upon him) dictated the revelation to his companions who wrote it down during his lifetime on palm leaves, parchments, bones, flat stones, etc. In addition, the Qur'an was committed to heart by many of Prophet Muhammad's companions. One year after the death of Prophet Muhammad (mercy and peace of God be upon him), the first Caliph, Abu- Bakr, instructed the Prophet’s companions to collect the whole Qur’an in one volume. The third Caliph, Uthman, prepared several copies from the original text and sent them to the major centers of Islamic Civilization.

From that time onwards, more than 1400 years ago, the same Qur’anic text has been in use with the exact wording, order and language (Arabic). Not a single word from its 114 chapters has been changed since it was revealed.

Indeed, God promised in the Qur’an to preserve it forever. He said: “Verily, I have sent down the Qur’an, and indeed, I will guard it from corruption.”[14] (15:9)

An essential point to understand about the Qur’an is that it is a miracle both in its revelation and content. At the time of the revelation and since, there have been those who have denied the divine and miraculous nature of the Qur’an saying that Muhammad (mercy and peace of God be upon him) was either taught by others or that he wrote it by himself! In order to counteract this claim, God lays down a challenge to the whole of humankind saying: “ If you are in doubt concerning what I have revealed to My slave (Muhammad), then produce one chapter like it and you may call on your helpers beside Allah, if you are truthful.” (2:23) These are from the prophecies which the Qur’an foretold as no one from the time of the Prophet (mercy and peace of God be upon him) until this day has been able to produce the like of one chapter or even a verse of the Qur’an.

4. Belief in the Messengers of God

This article of faith addresses the belief that God conveyed His message through selected human beings. These individuals, called prophets and messengers, were selected by God to be examples of how the scriptures were to be understood and implemented. God sent to every nation a prophet(s) to convey the message that He alone was to be worshipped and any thing worshipped along with Him or besides Him is false. The Qur’an mentions the names of only twenty-five of the prophets while indicating that many others were not mentioned by name. The first of these prophets was Adam and the last was Muhammad (mercy and peace of God be upon them all). Every prophet was sent to a specific people for specific periods of time except Prophet Muhammad (mercy and peace of God be upon him) who was sent to all people until the Final Hour. The proofs that Muhammad (mercy and peace of God be upon him) was a messenger of God are more than a thousand; all are mentioned in his biography. The greatest proof is the miracle of the Qur’an, which couldn’t have been conveyed but by a messenger. Indeed, mention of Prophet Muhammad’s coming can be found in the books of the Bible in spite of the changes which have taken place in their texts (See Deut. 18:18, 18:15; Isaiah 29:12; Songs of Solomon 5:16; John 16:12-14 & John 14: 15-16).

5. Belief in the Last Day

Islam teaches that this life is but a test of conduct for man to see whether or not he will follow the commands of God. In the Hereafter, people will be resurrected and stand before God for a just reckoning of their worldly deeds and actions. People with good deeds will be generously rewarded and warmly welcomed to the heavens of God. However, those with bad records will be punished and cast into Hell. People have been given knowledge of right and wrong, instinctively and through revelation, and they must choose their path in this short life. Their choices in this life will ultimately determine their places in the eternal life to come. God says in the Qur’an: “Whosoever has done an atom’s weight of good will see it, and whosoever has done an atom’s weight of evil will see it.” (99:7-8)

Belief in the Day of Judgment implants in man’s heart the consciousness of God, impelling man and society at large to obey Him sincerely without any external pressure.

6. The Belief in Predestination

It includes the belief in the following:

a) God knows everything. His knowledge is not bound by time. Past, present and future are all known to Him.

b) Everything which takes place is already written in a book called: The Preserved Tablet.

c) God has created everything, including the actions of people, the good and the bad, but He commanded people to do good deeds and forbade them from doing evil.

d) One must believe that everything that happens in this Universe is happening with God’s permission, and nothing can take place against His will.

It should be noted that God’s prior knowledge of things does not mean that human beings have no choice. Human beings choose, but God knows their choices prior to their choosing and action.

VIII. THE PILLARS OF ISLAM

Worship in Islam is an all inclusive term for all action and sayings that God loves. Every virtuous action which is performed with the intention of carrying the commandments of God and seeking His pleasure is considered as an act of worship. However, the very specific acts of worship are five. They stand as the framework of spiritual life on which the structure of Islam rests. They are the following:

1. The two Declarations of faith of which the Arabic transliteration is (Ashhadu an la elaaha illa Allah, wa Ashhadu anna Muhammad Rasool Allah) which means: I testify that there is no god worthy of worship but God, and I testify that Muhammad is the messenger of God. The sincere declaration of God’s unity and the acceptance of Muhammad’s prophethood and adherence to his teachings automatically brings one within the fold of Islam and guarantees him Paradise. Hence, Monotheism is the cornerstone of Islam. The acceptance of this belief differentiates the Muslim from the non-Muslim.

2. Prayers: Formal Prayers are prescribed five times daily as a duty to God at the following times: dawn, noon, afternoon, sunset and nightfall. A Muslim may offer formal prayers almost anywhere as long as the location is clean. Muslim males are enjoined to pray in congregation in a mosque, while females are encouraged to pray in their homes. Prayer provides human beings with a regular contact with God, which helps them avoid evil.

Furthermore, it is symbolic of equality, for the poor and the rich, the rulerand the ruled, the black and the white stand together, united in rows, shoulder to shoulder and prostrate themselves before God. Prayer strengthens the belief in God and elevates man to a higher morality. It helps to purify the heart and prevent temptation towards wrong – doing and evil.

3. Zakah (Charity): Every Muslim whose net annual savings are above a certain specified minimum must pay an annual amount of 2.5% of his savings to the poor and needy people in the community. Zakah fosters generosity and helps purify the soul of selfishness and greed. Zakah also helps reduce resentment and envy between poor and rich members of the society.

4. Fasting the month of Ramadhan: Fasting in Islam means abstention from food, drink and sexual acts from dawn to sunset. It is an annual obligation during the month of Ramadhan, the ninth month of the lunar calendar. Fasting teaches sincerity and engenders devotion. It develops a sense of social conscience, patience, self-restraint, will power and compassion for the needy members of the society. Furthermore, it has been medically proven that fasting helps to maintain good health.

5. Hajj (Pilgrimage to Makkah): Hajj is obligatory for every Muslim once in a lifetime, if one can afford it financially and bear it physically. During Hajj, Muslims from all corners of the world meet in an international congregation dedicated to the worship of God. It is a great lesson in patience. The huge gatherings in Hajj remind one of the Day of Judgment when people will gather for their reckoning. It emphasizes the belief that all Muslims are brothers, irrespective of their geographical, cultural or racial origins.

IX. ISLAM AND OTHER RELIGIONS

One may ask: “If all true religions came with the same message, namely the worship of God alone, why then do we find differences between them?” The answer is that the original forms of these earlier messages were either lost or distorted by later generations. Consequently, the pure messages of monotheism became polluted with myths, superstitions, idolatry and irrational philosophical beliefs and hence, those religions are no more valid. But God, the Compassionate, did not leave human beings astray.

He sent, ultimately, Prophet Muhammad (mercy and peace of God be upon him) to revive the original message and to call human beings back to the correct path: belief in the unique oneness of God and worship of Him according to His teachings mentioned in the Qur'an. Consequently, Islam is the seal of all religions, and the Qur'an is the seal of all revealed books, and Prophet Muhammad (mercy and peace of God be upon him) is the seal of all prophets.

X. BEAUTIES OF ISLAM

All of the Qur’an is a proclamation of Tawheed (The Oneness and Unity of God). Some of the verses inform about God, His Names, Attributes, Acts and Speech. These verses indicate the Unity and Oneness of God with respect to His most excellent Names and perfect Attributes. Other verses call to the necessity of worshipping God alone, without any associate or partner and the renunciation of worship of anything other than Him.

These verses indicate the Oneness and Unity of Worship and the necessity for people to single out their Lord in their intention, desire, requesting and their turning to Him. The Qur’an also contains injunctions and prohibitions, and so the doing of something or refraining from doing it is the fulfillment and perfection of the affirmation of the Oneness and Unity of God. In addition, the Qur’an includes stories and information about the people of true and sincere belief and tells of their immediate reward in the life of this world as well as the immense reward reserved for them in the hereafter. The Qur’an also contains stories about those who associate partners with God and informs of their punishment in the life of this world and the punishment they are promised in the hereafter. This is the reward for those that associate partners with God and deviate from affirmation of God’s Oneness and Unity.

The Qur’an calls for the correcting and strengthening of peoples’ relationship with their Lord, and their relationship with each other. It also calls for people to correct and straighten their own selves, both inwardly and outwardly.

Concerning the correcting and strengthening of the relationship between a person and his Lord, the Qur’an calls for people to draw close to Him through both physical and financial acts of worship such as prayer, Hajj, sacrifice and so forth. In addition, the Qur’an calls to the knowledge of God through His Names and Attributes and this instills fear and awe of the Lord in peoples’ hearts and establishes discipline in applying God’s commands and prohibitions and strengthens the relationship between people and their Lord.

Concerning the straightening of a person’s relationship with other people, the Qur’an calls to behavior which strengthens and reinforces social relationships such as the importance given to the role of the family.

So treating parents kindly, maintaining good relations with other family members, seeing to the rights and needs of wives and children, doing good to neighbors are all obligatory while disobeying parents, severing family ties and social isolation are all prohibited. The Qur’an also instructs that reconciliation should be encouraged between husband and wife if a dispute occurs between them to avoid the break up of the family and separation of the children.

In addition, the Qur’an instructs that all people should be treated with high moral behavior and noble manners such as smiling with them, being gentle in speech to them, controlling one’s anger with them, forgiving any harm or offence they may have caused and even returning that harm with good, in order that any spite or hatred might be removed from the hearts and that enmity be turned into love and affection. Whoever achieves this is promised an immense reward.

The Prophet, mercy and peace be upon him, instructed that even animals be treated fairly and with kindness, instructing that they should be fed and watered and informing that such action would be rewarded on the Day of Resurrection. He also instructed that they should not be made to carry a burden more than they could bear, nor tormented or caused undue suffering or killed unless they were harmful. And if an animal was to be eaten then it should be made to feel relaxed at the time of slaughter and other animals should not be slaughtered in front of it.

The Qur’an also enjoins both physical and spiritual cleanliness and purification. It encourages that the body be kept clean, the wearing of clean clothes and shoes and the use of perfume. A bath should be taken every Friday and after sexual intercourse and ablution performed before prayer, nails should be clipped, hair under the armpit plucked, pubic hair shaved, the moustache trimmed, the siwak (the small branch of a tree used for cleaning the teeth) used regularly and the private parts washed after going to the toilet.

Concerning spiritual purity the Qur’an instructs that the soul be straightened and corrected and that the heart be purified of spite, malice, jealousy, pride and inequity. It calls for integrity of heart and love, affection and humility towards people. It instructs that the tongue be purified from lying, backbiting, slander and insulting people and adorned with truthfulness and softness of speech. The eyes should be restrained from looking at pornographic pictures and at peoples’ private parts and the ears should be kept from listening to loose and immoral talk. The Qur’an praises and encourages knowledge and criticizes ignorance saying that it leads to destruction. It commands to action and dynamism while prohibiting inaction and laziness. Likewise, the Qur’an calls to all similar praiseworthy behavior and virtuous qualities.

The Qur’an orders that children be born within a legal marriage contract and that sexual desire be controlled and contained within these parameters. Marriage is fulfilled by the obligatory payment of a dowry by the husband and by his supporting his wife and children financially and treating them kindly. In the same manner, the Qur’an prohibits fornication because it is one of the worst assaults on other peoples’ honour and dignity and something which causes disease and produces illegitimate children.

Likewise, the Qur’an forbids everything which leads to fornication and so it prohibits looking at pornographic pictures and being alone with marriageable women. It also commands that men should lower their gaze from looking or staring at improperly dressed women just as it has ordered women to dress modestly and cover their bodies.

The Qur’an also calls to the protection and sanctity of peoples’ lives and specifically mentions that the taking of an innocent life is one of the worst and most hideous crimes. The Prophet forbade breaking the bones of a dead animal so what about the taking of an innocent life? The Qur’an prescribes a life for a life and an eye for an eye for all injuries, however large or small, unless the family of the person killed or the injured person accepts financial compensation instead.

The Qur’an commands that peoples’ property and wealth be safe and inviolable and therefore prohibits theft, bribery, usury and deception. It calls for moderation in spending and so forbids extravagance, lavishness and the squandering of money while at the same time forbidding the hoarding and amassing of wealth. It calls for balance and commands that people should neither be greedy and covetous nor spend thrifty and wasteful. It encourages the seeking and striving for provision in lawful ways such as buying, selling and renting - activities that bring financial or material benefit to all parties concerned - as well safeguarding the rights and needs of the poor, especially those of them who are relatives.

Islam promotes the protection of good health and has therefore commanded that only wholesome and nutritious food in moderation be eaten and has prohibited the consumption of all bad and harmful food and drink such as carrion, liquor, smoking, drugs and so forth. It also prescribes fasting that has many benefits for the body, especially the stomach.

The Prophet, mercy and peace be upon him, taught many general good manners, including the virtue of adopting the correct manners for eating and drinking. These include eating with the right hand and not finding fault with the food but rather being satisfied with it. Therefore, if someone likes the food, they should eat it but if they have no appetite for it, they should leave it without criticizing it. This is both out of respect for the blessing of the food and in order not to hurt the feelings of the person who cooked it. It is also preferred that a person eats with others and not alone, either by eating with his family or by inviting a poor person to eat with him.

The words ‘In the name of God’ (bismillah) should be said before beginning to eat, and ‘All praise belongs to God’ (Al-hamdulillah) after finishing the food, in order that people remember the blessing they have been given and the One who provided it. The prophet, mercy and peace be upon him, also prohibited people from blowing on food or drink or breathing on to it, out of respect for others who may be sharing it and to avoid the spread of contagious diseases.

The Prophet, mercy and peace be upon him, instructed people to adopt good manners when in a gathering such as not raising one’s voice, respecting elders, showing mercy to the young, greeting those present (saying as-salaam) when entering the gathering and guarding the tongue from saying bad things about people, even if it is true.

The Prophet, mercy and peace be upon him, also instructed people to remember God at all times and in every situation. This creates a permanent connection between people and their Lord and instills stability, stillness and tranquility in their hearts and it is one of the means of protecting against evil and vice. The Prophet, mercy and peace be upon him, for example instructed that specific invocations be said at the time of sleep, before entering the toilet, before sexual intercourse, while traveling, due to fear of a people, upon entering or leaving one’s house, first thing in the morning and in the afternoon, on being afflicted by distress, anxiety or misfortune, when burdened by debt or poverty, upon entering a graveyard, when stopping for a rest or setting up camp and other situations when specific invocations and prayers should be said.

Another aspect of general behavior which the Prophet, mercy and peace be upon him, gave guidance about concerns correct behavior and manners when traveling. For example, he instructed that the one traveling should say goodbye to his family and supplicate for them just as they should supplicate and pray for him. In addition, he instructed that a person should not travel alone but in company, one of whom should be appointed as the leader, who undertakes to make decisions after consulting the others. The traveler should also make continual invocation and remembrance of God during his journey. He should also not surprise his family by returning unexpectedly late at night. Rather, he should inform them before he arrives in order that the wife can prepare for his arrival or leave returning until the following morning.

The Prophet, mercy and peace be upon him, also instructed that a woman should not travel by herself but travel either with her husband or with someone who she cannot marry such as her father or brother to ensure that both her honor and wealth are protected.

Islam calls for justice and noble conduct and urges that agreements and contracts be fulfilled, that trusts are returned, that rulers are obeyed and enjoins every noble character just as it forbids vileness, baseness, crime, oppression, hostility, aggression and all blameworthy and reprehensible qualities.

XI. UNIVERSAL APPEAL OF A COMPREHENSIVE RELIGION

Islam is a universal message because God sent every previous prophet to his own people for limited periods of time except Prophet Muhammad (mercy and peace of God be upon him) who was sent to all people; black and white, rich and poor, the ruler and the ruled, Arabs and non-Arabs, the slave and the master. Islam is for all people from when it was revealed until the Day of Judgment. It is universally attainable in the sense that it can be practiced anywhere on earth ((or even on the surface of the moon)).

God has made the message of Islam easy to understand and to follow. He annulled some previously prescribed rites and practices while affirming others according to His wisdom and hence, the Islamic law suits all peoples’ spiritual, psychological, social and economical needs, for all times.

Islamic teachings have the following unique features:

1. Rational teachings: The seeker of truth will find the teachings of Islam to be quite logical and reasonable.

2. Perfection: Since God is perfect, His teachings must also be perfect and free from any contradiction or error.

3. Clarity: God is the Most Compassionate. He guides us through clear and simple revelation free of myths, superstitions and mysteries.

4. Scientific: It is not surprising to find in the Qur’an and statements of Prophet Muhammad (mercy and peace of God be upon him) some information which has only recently been discovered by modern scientists. This points to the fact that Qur’an is the word of God and that Muhammad (mercy and peace of God be upon him) is a prophet of God.15

5. Prophecy: Many of the events prophesized in the Qur’an and Prophet’s sayings (Sunnah) have come to pass.

6. Moderate: In Islam, there is no conflict between spiritual and mundane life. Man is accountable for all his actions and everyday activities. Provided they are done with the correct intention, they are a means to achieve divine reward in the same way that specific acts of worship are. So, secularism, materialism, monasticism and extreme asceticism are all rejected in Islam, which provides a middle way to achieve harmony and balance between the spiritual and material needs of man. This is why God called the Muslim nation in the Qur’an: the Moderate Nation.(2:143) 15 See " The Qur’an and Modern Science " by Dr. Maurice Bucaille.

7. Comprehensive: Islamic teachings provide to people definite guidelines to follow in all walks of life: spiritual, individual, social, moral, political, economical, etc.

8. Inimitable: Islamic teachings are an infallible living miracle that cannot be imitated by people.

9. Equality: Islamic teachings do not discriminate between people on the basis of color, tribe, race, nationality, etc. because people descend from one father and one mother namely Adam and Eve.

Islam teaches that the criteria of good and bad is righteousness (i.e., the best person in the view of God is the most righteous). A verse of Glorious Qur’an reads: : “The best of you in the sight of God is the one who is most righteous. ” (49:13)

XII. WHY ISLAM?

We have to become Muslims because God Has sealed and superseded all previous messages with Islam. God says to all people in the Qur’an: “This day I have perfected your religion for you, completed My favor upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion.” (5:3)

We have to become Muslims because people in every age must worship their Lord (Allah) according to the Law prescribed by Him as revealed to His prophet. The tribes of Israel, for example, were ordered to worship God according to the Law of Moses (mercy and peace of God be upon him). When Prophet Jesus (mercy and peace of God be upon him) was sent to them, they were ordered to worship God according to what was prescribed in the Gospel (Al-Injeel). Then, when God sent Prophet Muhammad (mercy and peace of God be upon him) with the message of Islam to all people, it became incumbent on all people, the tribes of Israel and all others, to enter Islam.

If, for whatever reason, man rejects the message of Islam, then he has committed the greatest sin. Unfortunately, if he dies in this state, then he will be punished and cast into the Hellfire to live eternally therein. This concept is emphasized hundreds of times in the Qur’an and in the sayings of Prophet Muhammad (mercy and peace of God be upon him). God says in the Qur’an: “If anyone desires a Religion other than Islam, never will it be accepted from him, and in the Hereafter he will be among the losers.” (3:85)Also, Prophet Muhammad (mercy and peace of God be upon him) said: “Whoever among the Christians and Jews hears of me and does not follow what I have brought, and dies in this state will be among the inhabitants of Hell fire.”[15]

Some people may not accept Islam because they think that becoming a Muslim means to turn one’s back on all previous prophets sent by God!

This is a false concept because of the following: First, the belief in all messengers of God is a pillar of Islamic faith and hence, no Muslim is a Muslim if he doesn't believe in Jesus, Moses or any other prophet. Second, belief in the messengers is a part of what each messenger taught (i.e., every prophet called his people to believe in the next prophet who comes after him and follow him whenever he appears). So, rejecting a prophet means rejecting the predecessor. Thirdly, rejecting any messenger means rejecting his sender: God.

Hence, in the Islamic perspective the relationship between the messengers is like the relationship between the links in a chain, where rejecting one of them means rejecting all. However, becoming a Muslim means having the honor of believing in all the prophets who came before Prophet Muhammad (mercy and peace of God be upon them) and not to turn one's back on all previous prophets as some people may think.

XIII. CONCLUSION

he following facts were discussed and proved in this booklet:

First, the purpose of creation is to worship God (Allah) alone.

Second, the basic message of Islam is to worship God alone without any intercessor or mediator.

Third, evidences that only God has the right to be worshipped was elaborated.

Fourth, the message of false religions is the worship of creation instead of God (Paganism).

Fifth, God and His creation are totally different entities. He is only one, distinct from His creations.

Sixth, the divine origin of the name of the religion ‘Islam’ and the comprehensiveness of its meaning points to its truth.

Seventh, Islam's basic principles and characteristics point to its truth.

Eighth, Qur'an is the word of God which was preserved throughout the ages.

Ninth, Islamic teachings are uniquely rational and uncomplicated.

Tenth, Prophets are human beings sent by God to convey and revive the original message: worship of God alone and (Monotheism) and the avoidance of worshipping anything beside Him. Prophets are only human beings sent by God to be examples of how the scriptures were to be understood and implemented. They were created from a mother and a father except Adam and Jesus (mercy and peace of God be upon them all). The former was created from the clay whereas, the latter was created from a mother without a father.

Eleventh, Islam is the only religion that teaches the right concept of God, free of any confusion or irrational facts.

Twelfth, Islamic sources have the obvious proofs that affirm the fact that God has sent Prophet Muhammad (mercy and peace of God be upon him) with the universal message of Islam that supercedes all previous messages.

Thirteenth, it is proved that Islam is a restatement of the basic message of all religions: worship of God alone. It is the last religion for all people, for all times. Every one who hears about it should follow it and whoever rejects it then it means that he has rejected the message of God and accordingly will be cast into Hell.

Last but not least, Islam is universally attainable by all people at all times.

These are nine fourteen basic components of what logic and rationality dictate for Islam to be considered the last and true religion of God which all people should follow.

Oh Reader! You Have been shown in this booklet the right path, and God has given you the ability to distinguish right from wrong, and the freedom of choice whether to accept the message of Islam or not. If you accept His call, then you will be warmly welcomed into Paradise. If you reject it, you will be in for a rude awakening once you die; the biggest shock of your life.

XIV. HOW TO BECOME A MUSLIM

Each of the monotheistic religions has requirements for entrants.

To be a Jew one must: 1. Deny the prophet hood or divinity of Prophet Jesus, 2. Deny the Gospel, 3. Deny the prophet hood of Prophet Muhammad and 4. Deny the Qur’an.

To be a Christian one must: 1. Believe that God has a partner, a mother, and a son, 2. Believe that God became a man and descended on earth to die for the sins of people, 3. Deny the prophethood of Muhammad and 4. Deny the Qur’an.

To be a Muslim one must: 1. Bear witness that no one deserves worship except God, 2. Reject all false gods, 3. Believe in all prophets including Moses and Jesus ending with Mohammed (mercy and peace of God be upon them all) and 4. Believe in all scriptures revealed to them (in their original form).

One can become a Muslim if he/she does the following:

Believes that God is one and distinct from his creation.

Truthfully bears witness that there is no god worthy of worship but God, and Muhammad (mercy and peace of God be upon him) was a messenger of God.

Believes that Jesus Christ, the son of Mary, was only a prophet of God.

Believes in the six pillars of faith and worships God alone, without any intermediary or partner, in the way taught by Prophet Muhammad (mercy and peace of God be upon him).

Makes the declaration openly in front of witnesses.

May the light of truth shine in our minds and hearts. May it lead us to peace and certitude in this life and eternal bliss in the Hereafter.

Sincerely,

Majed S. Al-Rassi
