The Miracle and Challenge of the Quran

The Miracle and Challenge of the Quran

With an introduction by Magdy Abd Al-SHafy

The Holy Quran is a miracle that beggars description , words fail to describe this miracle , it is a miracle in the full sense of the term . Different specialists , according to the branch of science they are specialized in , find it miraculous . Prophet Mohummed said commenting on the Holy Quran saying " it unfolds the secrets of the nations that preceded you , and secrets of the future treasured in it " It is the Holy Book that Jinnee , on hearing to it , did not leave their place till they believed in it . It is the book which unbelievers gave positive witness to .

Dr. Keith L. Moore is a Professor of Anatomy and Cell Biology, University of Toronto, Toronto, Canada. He is a world renowned scientist and a distinguished researcher in the fields of anatomy and embryology, he has published more than 150 research articles, chapters and books in this field. He is the author of several medical textbooks, such as the widely used and acclaimed "The Developing Human: Clinically oriented Embryology" (now in it's fifth edition, and translated into eight different languages), "Before We Are Born" and "Clinically Oriented Anatomy." He has also recently co-authored "Qur'an and Modern Science, Correlation Studies." Dr. Moore is the recipient of numerous awards and honors, including, in 1984, the J.C.B. Grant Award, which is the highest honor granted by the Canadian Association of Anatomists. He has served in many academic and administrative positions, including the President of the Canadian Association of Anatomists, 1968-1970. Let us see what Dr. Moore's opinion is on the scientific statements regarding embryology to be found in the Qur'an:

Dr. Moore was contacted by a Muslim scholar by the name of Abdul-Majeed Azzindani. He was asked to participate in a three-year study of around twenty-five verses of the Qur'an and the Sunnah (sayings of Muhammad, pbuh) which speak about embryology, and to determine the their correspondence to modern scientific discoveries. Dr. Moore's conclusion regarding this matter was:
"For the past three years, I have worked with the Embryology Committee of King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, helping them to interpret the many statements in the Qur'an and the Sunnah referring to human reproduction and prenatal development. At first I was astonished by the accuracy of the statements that were recorded in the seventh century AD, before the science of embryology was established. Although I was aware of the glorious history of Muslim scientists in the 10th century AD, and of some of their contributions to Medicine, I knew nothing about the religious facts and beliefs contained in the Qur'an and Sunnah. It is important for Islamic and other students to understand the meaning of these Qur'anic statements about human development, based on current scientific knowledge. The interpretations of the "verses" in the Qur'an and the Sunnah, translated by Shaikh Azzindani, are to the best of my knowledge accurate."

From the forward of "The Developing Human: Clinically oriented Embryology," third edition, by Dr. Keith L. Moore.

The Qur'an and the Sunnah of the prophet Muhammad (Sallalahu Alayhi Wa Salam) provide a very detailed description of the microscopic development of the human embryo from a mere sperm drop up to the stage of a completely formed human being. It is well known that microscopes were not developed until the sixteenth century AD, and even at that were very crude in design. Zacharias Janssen is credited with having invented the compound microscope in about 1590. With it, remarkable scientific discoveries were made in the 17th and 18th centuries. The Dutch naturalist Anthony van Leeuwenhoek produced lenses powerful enough to prove that many tiny creatures are not spontaneously generated but come from eggs.

Before this period, theories on human reproduction ran rampant. Some scientist believed that the menstrual blood itself developed into the fetus. Later on, a new theory was developed wherein the sperm drop was popularly believed to contain a completely developed miniature human (homunculus) which later grew to the size of a baby. The science of embryology as we know it today did not discover many of the detailed aspects of human development which are taken for granted today until only about twenty years ago, or 1973 to be precise.

Now we must ask the question: where did Muhammad (Sallalahu Alayhi Wasallam) get such detailed knowledge of the microscopic development of the human embryo in the 6th century AD without a microscope, technical training, a laboratory of any kind, or even the ability to write his own name? The only logical conclusion is that it came from exactly where he claimed it did. From the one who created mankind, God Almighty!

Prof. Moore has since given numerous lectures on the topic of embryology in the Qur'an. He is quoted in one of these lectures as saying: "It is clear to me that these statements must have come to Muhammad from God, or Allah, because most of this knowledge was not discovered until many centuries later. This proves to me that Muhammad must have been a messenger of God, or Allah."

Prof. Moore was so impressed with the Qur'anic classification of the stages of development of the human embryo, that he suggested the adoption of the Qur'anic system in place of the system currently in use by scientists today. Prof. Moore said: "Because the staging of the human embryo is complex owing to the continuous process of change during development. It is therefore suggested that a new system of classification could be developed using the terms mentioned in the Qur'an and the Sunnah. The proposed system is simple, comprehensive, and conforms with present embryological knowledge."

When Dr. Moore first presented his findings in Toronto it caused quite a stir throughout Canada. It was on the front pages of some of the newspapers across Canada . One newspaper reporter asked Professor Moore,
"Don't you think That maybe the Arabs might have known about these things - the description of the embryo, its appearance and how it changes and grows? Maybe there were not scientists, but maybe they did some crude dissections on their own - carved up people and examined these things."

Professor Morre immediately pointed out to him, however, that he had missed a very important point. All of the slides of the embryo that Dr. Moore had based his study upon had come from pictures taken through a microscope. He said, "It does not matter if someone had tried to discover embryology fourteen centuries ago, they could not have seen it!." Dr. Moore taunted, "Maybe fourteen centuries ago someone secretly had a microscope and did this research, making no mistakes anywhere. Then he somehow taught Muhammad and convinced him to put this information in his book. Then he destroyed his equipment and kept it a secret forever?. Do you believe that? You really should not unless you bring some proof because it is such a ridiculous theory."

When he was asked "How do you explain this information in the Qur'an?" Dr. Moore's reply was, "It could only have been divinely revealed."

Natural Breast milk

Natural Breast milk

By Dr Hasan Shamsi Basha

Translated by : Nassim JamalEddin Dhaher

Revised By : Magdy Abd Al-Shafy

For its factories were prepared and created  by Allah in the mothers' body, its composition excelled the composition of any other milk, in it there is everything needed by the baby from nutrition to protection, it also gives the mother a feeling that strengthens the ties between the mother and her baby. However, the percentage of natural breast feeding in Europe and the US reached a very low level in the fifties, where a large number of mothers – due to negative advertisement- thought that artificial feeding is better than  natural breast feeding, and that the artificial milk contains elements not found in mothers' breast milk.

Many of our women in the Arab and Muslim world followed the Western example, and that led to the spread of artificial feeding and natural breast feeding become at that time an old practice. Since then studies and scientific research continued in Europe and the US that proved a single truth that is: Breast Milk is Best.

It shouldn't be strange to see well known medical experts in the world spreading their research, and writing  studies  about the advantages of breast milk.

Professor Ruth Lawrence[1], of Rochester University who is an expert in Neonatalogy says: "Women ought to know that breast milk is the best nutrition for the baby. Despite the fact that medical science has improved, it still has not been able to, in any way whatsoever,  produce an equivalent to breast milk, and there isn't on the face of Earth a biological composite equivalent  able to substitute breast milk completely".

Professor Boresden says: "If mammals need their mother's breast milk and a close physical connection with the mother for several years, then human babies should have the priority in receiving their mother's breast milk with all its advantages for four years".

Allah the Exalted says what means in the Holy Quran what means  {Mothers shall suckle their children for two whole years; (that is) for those who wish to complete the suckling.} Al-Baqara verse no. 233

The West has awakened to this fact recently, and the medical media in Europe and the US started notifying women about the importance of returning back to natural breastfeeding.

The Lancet (www.thelancet.com), a famous British medical magazine published an article asking the author: “why isn't the return to breastfeeding go at a higher rate than it currently is, despite the majority of medical opinions supporting the importance of breast milk and its prevalence over artificial milk”.

The author cites the reason for the aforementioned to be the control of artificial milk manufacturers over many organizations that are involved in children matters, and the large scale advertisement done by those manufacturers to convince mothers, despite being a big false truth less lie, that artificial milk supersedes breast milk.

In a time when the use of artificial milk is getting more common in our Islamic and Arab countries, we find that the British Govt. had made, thirteen years ago, an order that bans those companies from advertising the various types of artificial milk and thereafter those ads. disappeared completely from television and other media in Britain.

The Lancet also published an article with the following:

95% of mothers are able (if they desire) to breastfeed their newborns for a period of 4 to 6 months and they are able to, in this period of time, provide enough milk for their newborns to grow in a natural way.

Some women are able to breastfeed (without the need for artificial milk)their newborns for a period of at least twelve months or more. Babies who are fed artificial milk are more likely to suffer stomach and intestinal infections.

A report for the W.H.O. (World Health Organization) showed discontent with the situation in the third world where artificial milk is accepted in the time where Europe and the USare diminishing its use.

The author says: “The use of artificial milk is constantly increasing in the third world even though there are some dangerous implications to that on the child’s health”. And adds: “Companies producing artificial milk are competing through marketers who are advertising for those products in various ways”. The author also warns those companies that the world will wake up sooner or later and return to the use of natural breast milk, and that they (the companies) should not expect a growth in sales.

Professor Lawrence says: “Even though natural science has had great strides in the area of nutrition, it has only been able to imitate just a few properties found in breast milk. There are more than one hundred enzymes in mothers breast milk, all of which are not available artificial milk. Mother’s natural milk contains special antibodies and protection against spoilage unavailable in any other type of nutrient.

Professor Lawrence finished her article asserting: “There is no biological compound on Earth that is able to replace breast milk, secure live cells, provide effective enzymes, guard against infections, and other psychological advantages”.

Dr. Peny Stanway author of the book “Breast Is Best” [2] says : “there is o doubt that breast cancer , which is the most common cancer among women, has become more common during the past two decades and scientists estimate that one out of every twenty women in the West dies of breast cancer, and also one out of every four women complains about one of the several breast disorder (disease) in her lifetime”.

Why is such high frequency? And why is this happening to women's breasts?

Dr Stanway answers: “ it is highly probable that women treat the breast in an unnatural way and disobey the natural duty of the breast, which is nursing. Women deny their breasts the natural and main role (breast feeding), they then pay a very expensive cost by catching related diseases or disorders. Breast feeding is the most important tool used for birth control around the globe, where Menstruation process is biologically suspended  during the period of suckling ; it is known that uterine cancer has a strong relationship with breast cancer. It is probable that those large number of  menstruation  that women go through in their lives (average of about 450) have effects on the uterus, since every month the breasts and the uterus go through physiological and anatomical changes, and the female’s reproductive system becomes ready for oval fertilization and thereafter fetal formation”.

In our modern life, only one or two females ova are fertilized since women usually give birth to just one or two children during complete lifetime while their bodies go through an average of four hundred and fifty menstrual cycles, so the great majority of those menstrual processes go useless (ie no ovum is fertilized). The body goes through a lot of changes without pregnancy year after year but with only one or two probable pregnancies and this might be a reason for reproductive system disorders”.

This is was what Dr. Stanway said in his book, and in this he is talking about the women of modern era, when they try not to give birth to more than one or two children, and by doing so they subject their reproductive organs to such disorders and diseases.

Prophet Mohammad(peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)  said: “ Marry the loving , the bearer of children, I'm indeed proud of your  number profusion” Narrated by Abu Dawood and An-nisaa’I, Saheeh Aljame As-sagheer 2940.

Dr. Stanway also says: “Breast and Uterine Cancer are really common where one of every five women ends getting her uterus removed sometime in her lifetime. Women should get pregnant early in her life after puberty, and it has been shown that when a women has her first child in an early age before twenty, she takes one of the most important measures in the prevention of Breast Cancer. Women’s reproductive system says for a period of 12 to fifteen years unable to bear the first child until menstruation, and if we decide to continue barring this system from bearing children then we will put our women into a lot of problems”.

Regarding the period of breast feeding, Dr. Stanway says: “it might be enough for the infant to breast-feed for a period of eight months in the Western society, but in regards to the mother’s advantage, all the reasons are available for the mother to continue breast feeding even if the baby reaches an age where he/she is able to get the necessary nutrients from other types of food. Continuous nursing through the nipples stimulate hormones in the mother that prevent the release of an ovum from the ovary to the uterus for several months”.

“Henceforth nursing doesn't only function as a natural birth control, but also suspends the monthly changes in the menstrual period which relaxes the reproductive system from such burden.”

The Late Sayid Qutub (may Allah bless his soul) said in his book In the Shade of Al-Quran[3]:”Allah obligates for the baby that his mother nurse him for a period of two years because Allah the Exalted knows that this period of time is the optimal time considering all the physical and psychological aspects for the baby (for those who wish to complete the period of nursing). Research on health and psychology prove that a period of two years is necessary so that a baby grows in a healthy manner.

The Holy Quran Refutes Atheism

The Holy Quran Refutes Atheism

  By: Dr. Salama Abdel-Hady

Translation Revised by  : Magdy Abd Al-SHafy

Are we created with a Creator? Had this Creator addressed us through a scientific and logical approach that may suit our age of knowledge? The answer is given through 17 miraculous verses mentioned successively in Surat Al'Wakihah in the Quran.

Quran is the word of the God “Allah”, that was revealed to His  last prophet “Mohammad”, in the light of the history to guide the humanity at the time of its maturity. Mohammed is considered  by the Muslims as a man who received from the Creator a message or a religion called “the Islam.” Such Quran guides them to know Allah and leads them to have a successful life and to perform ideally their role on the earth. The meaning of the word “Islam” is “the complete obedience and submissiveness  to God”.  Muslims know Allah through  His Mercy and Wise, but they believe that He is beyond the abilities of their imagination or vision.

Quran can be viewed from a scientific point of view as a sustaining proof that assures the truth of Mohammed’s message, since its wording is different from the traditional wording of people. Any one, who reads or understands the Koran, will find that its source cannot be a man who was born in a Bedouin culture since more than fourteen centuries. But it is surely revealed from the Creator of the man and the universe, Who has unlimited and infinite science and knowledge regarding all His creations. We can find that our modern sciences concerning our universe and ourselves help us to have a more perfect and deeper understanding of the verses of the Koran.

We can see such a vision in the following verses which are found in a Surah of the Quran with the title “Al-Wakihah” (the day of resurrection). Allah leads us by these verses through a series of logic questions to assure a certain fact “We are created and He is our Creator”.  So, the first verse states the following question:

We (Allah) have created you, so why you don’t believe that.”  (57/56) (The verse number 57 from Surat Al-Wakihah[i]

Now, let us read the answer of this question in the next verses from Surat Al-Wakihah (verses 57 –75)[ii]

God says in the Holy Quran what means " Have you (O’ man) ever seen (or observe and investigate) the semen that you emit (emitted during a man and a woman intercourses), `is it you who create it, or are we the Creator? We have ordained death to you and none of you shall escape it, and We are not to be prevented (or are able) to replacing you with the same kind (or transfigure you), or recreate you in any other form that you haven’t ever known. And indeed, you know the initial form of creation (i.e. the creation of Adam).

Have you ever seen (or investigate) the seeds (the source of your food) that you are sowing in the ground and then you feed upon them), is it you whomaster its growth and cultivation (or the characteristics of each plant), or are We the Master? Were it our Will, We could crumble such cultivation to chaff and you would be regretful (or left in wonderment). Then you would say, “We have incurred a loss. Nay. But we are deprived.”

Have you ever seen the water you drink (or looked to its sources and cycles)? Is it you who mastered it to be dropped to you from Al –Mozn (from clouds)? Or We are the Master? If it is Our Will, We could leave it salty (in its original form as sea water). Then why aren’t you thanking?

Have you ever seen (or investigate) the fuel (or fire as a source of energy) that is hidden (is hidden during its combustion in your bodies), is it you who constructed its tree (as the factory which produce the source of such fire)?  We are Who make it in this way to let you enjoying your strength (through motion and doing effort) and to remind you (with God’s Will). Then (as a conclusion for that proofs), Glorify with praises the Name of Your Lord, The Most Great (56/58-74).

As the reader notice the answer in the first verse is given by another four specific questions that motivate our abilities to ponder and have a deep looking. All of them start by four words: “Have you ever seen (or looked at)

Of course, being in this century, we have a higher ability to look, search, understand and explain theses verses and discuss their logic through deep scientific procedures. So, I will try to explain these verses from my point of view as an engineer. Of course my explanation or understanding will be limited to my scope of thinking. Of course such understanding is different from the explanation of a man who has deeper knowledge than me. However, I hope the reader will appreciate my trial or approach to explain my limited understanding.[iii]

Question 1.a. (is concerned with the origin of our creation):

God says in this regard in the Holy Quran what means " Have you ever seen the semen that you emit?"

The scientific comment: The Creator leads us in this verse or question to ponder about  the starting cell in our formation or creation. By the modern techniques we see the magnificent structure of such cells and what is called the marvelous genetic map. After having the electronic microscopes that can magnify the size of such semen many million times, we can really see it and answer this question scientifically. The man emits a semen and the woman  produces  ovum [iv], each providing a half of a human cell. By integrating these two halves into one cell in the womb of the woman, it offers an origin for the formation of a complete human creature. Seeing this semen, we find it is a miraculous unit that is responsible for keeping our race, it inherits the  features of each race and the peculiarities of the father and the mother into a new birth.  Such a completed cell starts to be divided pair by pair and forming the textures and bones of a new creature. We can see such formation and divisions by our magnifying equipment in ordered processes. It is evidence that it is surely designed, created, and guided by Great Creator who arranges for it such formation and mechanisms of subdivision to keep each race. The mechanism of subdivision and the way of unifying the semen of the male and female is fixed in all the human beings and also in all races in a unique manner since He is the same Creator for all these races. The scientists just discovers the discipline of subdivision and the mechanisms of forming different organs, but they do not know how these cells keeps such unique behavior in all creatures and also they do not yet know many secrets of the genetic map in such cells and How the  life is gifted to such creatures. Those means as we approach the reality and see the semen, we are faced by more ambiguous or un-answered questions. But the answer is in the first verse we have: “We have created you, so why you don’t believe”.

The question asked by the God is to look at this semen is followed by another astonishing question in the following verse:

Question 1b: Is it you who create it, or are We the Creator?

Hence, can we claim that we creates this semen that is responsible for forming the new birth by features inherited from  the mother and father or is it created by itself. Can such genetic map that can be seen in this semen be created by a just chance? Or do we find any one who can claim that he created it. If the God sent a book, the Koran, telling us that  We are the creator  , so, why not to confess that who really sent these words is the true Creator, since there is no way to deny that fact.  The verse that follows is expressing our limited abilities regarding the death. Of course, when we die or loose our life, no one can return it back to our bodies. As it is told in the next verses, the Creator is Who decides for each person the specific time of death and the leaving of his soul (is an ambiguous thing related to the existence of life), as no-one can extend his life.

Now we came to the second question:

Question 2a: (Is concerned with the source of our food)

Have you ever seen (look to and investigate) the seeds (the source of your food) that you are just sowing it in the ground?

Scientific comment: The Creator in this question directs our abilities of observing to look to our role in cultivation of plants which is limited to throwing the seeds. Such plants prepare for us the food necessary for our surviving. He creates the plants as autonomous creatures that grow by just the falling rains, and we are non-autonomous creatures that should have such plants to live. These seeds prepare for us the food that suits our creation.

The question asked by the God is to look at these seeds. And then this question is followed by another scientific question in the next verse:

Question 2b: God says in the Holy Quran what means" Is it you who master its growth and cultivation (or the processes done by each seed), or are We the Master?

As we can understand, this verse asks us “Who teaches or guidessuch plants its role in preparation of our food” Our role is just to throw the seeds and wait. But the seed of each plant after its sowing  starts to perform specific complicated tasks as if it is well trained to perform it. Looking at the roots of these plants, such roots select and absorb specified salts from the soil. Then the leaves of these plants that start to absorb carbon dioxide from the air and receives the sunrays to perform other complicated processes. Who ordered this seeds and taught  them to do these complicated processes and finally to offer us vegetables or fruits that feed us. Have we any role in such tasks?!!

May any one claim that he taught these seeds how to perform such tasks? Or, can any one or any group of scientists create such seeds and plan for them to do these tasks. The answer is NO. So, we should confess: Oh God !You are the Master.

So, the Creator Who creates such seeds and defines such roles for it, have sent His messengers. Those messengers are normal men who received a revelation to tell us that such arrangements are His doing. Why not to believe such statement and to assure his sayings and to announce: “We believe that we are created. You are our Creator Who arranges for us such suitable feeding by such obeying plants in this ordered mechanism”.

In the verses that follows, God shows that as He is able to offer us our food by these obeying plants, He is also able to destroy such plants if it is His Will. Of course we see it is actually done through any diseases, by shortage of water or by any storm or flood sent by Him. And we can do nothing if it is damaged, but just to declare our sorry as we can’t stop such damage. So, why we deny the true Creator Who can really create and who can damage.

Now we come to the third question:

(Question (3a): is concerned with the water that we drink)

God says in the Holy Quran what means " Have you ever seen the water you drink?

Scientific comment: In the third question, the Creator directs us to think over the fresh water that we drink. The process of extracting such fresh water from the salty water of the seas and oceans to reach us is a complicated process. God keeps these unlimited stores of salty water in the oceans and the seas. These salts in the water protect the water from being spoilt due to action of bacteria and the limited motion of water in these oceans or seas. The Creator designed also a limited amount of sunrays to warm water on the surface of this oceans or seas and a and keeps a limited movement of wind to form  from them the clouds of fresh water-vapors.  These clouds are raised up to a height at which its density is balanced through an equal density of the air at high elevations. These clouds start to group and move by the influence of directed winds to selected regions, determined by the God. Such clouds at certain regions lose its balance and are dropped, causing the formation of rivers which supplies us with the water necessary for life . So, the Creator guides us in the third question to look and think how this water is created in a way  available to us. To investigate these procedures and arrangements that led to have the fresh water available in our rivers for drinking and surviving the danger of drought . So, we are ordered in this verse to look to the scientific cycle of water on the earth. Of course, by such a look or thinking over we can answer the main question, are we created by a Creator ,who designed for us such a managed cycle to get the fresh water or not. Of course without such water we will not survive. It is the source of irrigating  plants too. Let us look at the next verse which envelops this question by a magnificent scientific wording:

Question 3b: Is it you who mastered its dropping from Al –Mozn (or from clouds)? Or are We the Master?

The Arabic origin of the word Al-Mozn is the balance or equilibrium. It is written here replacing the clouds to show that the clouds are a certain state or phase of the water that exists at such height and density in complete equilibrium with the surrounding atmosphere. If this state of equilibrium is changed, the water is dropped from these clouds. In other words, when these clouds are pushed to certain environmental or atmospheric conditions, such equilibrium is lost and we get the fresh water to be flowing in rivers. Now, can we find an answer for question (3b)? Who masters the formation of the sources of such water (the clouds), and Who masters its dropping into specific areas, in specific times and in specific drinkable conditions by changing its state of Mozn. Can any one claim that he does that? But the Creator of the man announces that it is His Will in His Last revealed word, the Koran. So, why should we not announce the following answer?!!! “We believe that we are created and You, Who sent this Koran, are our Creator”.

In the verse that follows this question, the Creator states that as He is able to make the fresh water available to us, He is able too to stop all these processes to supply the fresh water. In this case, there will be available to us only the salty water in the seas and oceans. What can we do? Nothing.  So, We should keep thanking Allah for such sustenance and mercy, and then He will keep it for us.  These meanings are found in next verses, ended by this order: Then why aren’t you thanking?

Let us read the next verse:

Question (4a): Is concerned with the source of our energy

Have you ever seen (or investigate) the fire (or the combustion that evolves the energy) that is hidden (or that is done but it not seen in your tissues)?

Scientific comment: The final question as can be read guides us to think over how our bodies can get the fuel that supplies it with the required energy to move. This fuel is prepared and produced in the trees. The green leaves stores the energy from the sun in a very complicated photo-electro-chemical processes that are expressed in thousands of reactions. We call such reactions by “Photosynthesis Process”. During this process, the leaves of the plants or trees  store carbon dioxide from the air and absorbs water from the soil ( through the roots) to form the carbohydrates in our food ( as in some fruits or vegetables ). When we eat the offered food, such carbohydrates is burnt in our bodies with unseen or hided fire and the absorbed energy is released. So our bodies get the energy required to be capable of moving, enjoying our life, and doing the required activities. When we see or look to the mechanisms of energy absorption in the trees and of energy release in our bodies, we will find that both are identical but are done in opposite direction. So, they should have the same Creator. Now, Who arranged all these mechanisms, reactions and processes? Such question is given in the verse that follows.

Question (4b )God says in the Holy Quran what means ):  Is it you who constructed its tree (as the factory which produce the source of such fire or energy)?  We are Who make it in this way to let you enjoying your strength (through motion and doing effort) and to remind you (with God’s Will)

Can any one claim that he design and produce the green leaves of the plants or trees to perform such complicated tasks to absorb the solar energy. And then he designs our cells to be capable of restoring  such energy by combustion in a hidden manner to enjoy the use of the strength of our muscles. Of course the answer is NO. And we have no way other than to confess the stated fact written by Who design, create and revealed this verse. So, if He tells us   that He is the Creator Who created us in this form and created for us this sources of energy to enjoy our life, we should believe in Him, otherwise we should not deserve His gifts, I mean our abilities to see, to think and to read.

NOW, at the end of these four questions regarding four disciplined and planned creations. They are written in an ordered form: the origin of our formation, the source that offers our food, the source that offers us our drinking water, and the source that offers us the energy. Who is responsible for that? Can we claim that it is done and planned without a Great and Wise Creator? And can we claim that this verse that guides us to this answer in such sequential manner is not revealed from Him, the Merciful and Great Creator. Or can we claim that a Bedouin, who was born in a desert from more than 15 centuries, can direct such scientific questions in such scientific sequence.

This reached conclusion is written at the end of these verses by this order:

Then why don't you thank?

Scientific conclusion: At the end of any scientific research, we should write the conclusion. So, the Creator at the next verse gives us the conclusion, which should be told by any man “Our Sincere Thanks to Allah, The Truly Merciful God, Who surely created us and Who guides us by His Miraculous Koran”

[i]It is a chapter of the Koran with this title . Such chapter has the number “56” in the Holy Koran, and has 96 verses (sentences) . The translation of the word “Al-Wakihah” is “the events of the Day of Resurrection.” Generally we write beside each verse the number of the verse followed by the number of  the chapter.

[ii]( the words written in blue color are just an attempt of translation of the Koran (as the Holy Quran is lexically and lingistically miraculous. However, the bracketed words are another trial to show the meaning or a deeper explanation of these words, since the words in Arabic are of broader destinations than the translated words )

[iii]Of course, the complete understanding of these verses is just known to Allah

[iv] the semen is a fluid that carry spermatozoon which carry half of the chromosomes ,while female produces ovums that carry the other integrating half of chromosomes . If God wills that both halves met , they form the first human cell.

The Fetus Rights in Islam

The Fetus Rights in Islam

By Dr. Nazmy Khalil Abou El Atta

Translated by Marwa Hassan

Revised By Magdy Abd Al-Shafy

Calls for human rights resound in the whole world with a serious and false accusation that Islam comes to violate such rights. In a matter of fact, this is entirely repudiated by Islam and Muslims as well. Accordingly, we believe that it is our duty, as Muslims, to defend ourselves and our Islam by illustrating few established facts in our true religion to show how Islam preserve rights, whether these rights relating to living organisms or non-living things as Islam consider both divine . We will illustrate this by means of evidence and we will start by figuring out what rights Islam provided for the fetus.

1-   The right of having known and contracted lineage:

One of the simplest fetus rights is to have one known lineage. Islam put some regulations and restrictions to the sexual relationships and bound it to marriage. Further, marriage is legislated by Islam and it was stated as the only way for people to procreate and have children

God says: in this concern what means “your wives are as a tilth unto you" , that is to say He made the womb like a soil where the sperm is the seed that a husband cultivates.

To have a true marriage contract, witnesses are provided. That is to say when two Muslim Couple is getting married, it is necessary for the other Muslims to witness such marriage contract and thus protecting the rights of the fetus to have two known and married parents.

To announce marriage, is another requirement for a true marriage contract as by this act Islam differentiates between illegitimate sexual relationships and marriage. Therefore the act of announcement means letting the majority to learn that those two people bound by the sacred bond of marriage. حقوق الجنين في الإسلام

Islam prescribed a period of waiting for the wife, Iddat, in order to make sure that her womb is free and she is not pregnant of her ex-husband. Accordingly, this protects the fetus rights to know who his father is and save any confusion in this regard.

Islam absolutely banned the believers to perform the act of adultery or fornication as God dictates in Sura El Nour ( Nour chapter in the Holy Quran)

"Let no man guilty of adultery or fornication marry any but a woman similarly guilty, or an unbeliever: nor let any but such a man or an unbeliever marry such a woman: to the believers such a thing is forbidden. " (Sura El Nure- verse 3)

Otherwise, the punishment of those who do not conform to the dictations of God and Islam should be punished in public in order to let the other Muslims witness that as God says "and let a pretty of the believers witness their punishment" ( Sura El Nure – Verse 2 )   in order to be deterrent .

Accordingly, Islam comes to protect the fetus right to have a known linage and origin. However, this right is not preserved in those communities which allow different forms of unregulated behaviors as far as the relationship between man and woman is concerned, such as adultery, deceit, sex offences and having babies without the bond of marriage, in other words, lovechildren.

2-     the right to have a healthy and chaste womb environment

Womb is the first environment that fetus touches and this is where it stays to grow. It is figured more likely as a soil where the sperm is cultivated. Islam has granted this soil some sort of sanctity as it bounds the sexual relationship to marriage where only the husband can sow the seed in order to reap the harvest. Islam banned sex offences for a higher and virtuous reason; that is to keep such soil healthy and chaste rather than exhausted or injured...

When diseases occur due to sex offences the first organ to be affected is the womb of the woman. This is why Islam banned adultery and fornications as through improper sexual relationships venereal diseases easily transmit. Islam has also banned alcoholic drinks, drugs and eating spoiled food as His Almighty says "Eat of the good things we have provided for you"

Islam has also banned eating dead bodies of animals or birds, eating swine's meat (pork) or drinking blood. Further, ill-gotten food is strictly forbidden. Avoiding all these things ensure a healthy womb environment

Islam dictated some regulations and restrictions concerning the relationship between man and woman. Further, it forbids Muslim women to interact with strange men for women's sake and to keep them away from sick and evil people. Thus that would provide protection for fetus and secure chaste womb.

3-  The right to have a strong genetic origin

from the scientific point of view; fetus is formed as a result of integration in the hereditary substance, in other words chromosomes, of both man and woman, where these chromosomes carry the genetic characteristics of the child. In a matter of fact, marriage which is exclusive to the relatives of one's family is not favorable; this is according to the prophetic tradition, Muhammad (PBUH), " marrying a non-relative is favored than marrying a relative one"…narrated   by El Bukhary. The Hadeeth advises people not to get married to a relative spouse as this results in deformed kids. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) advises those who wishes to get married, to choose their wives carefully in order to make sure that she free form any deformity, and thus he assures that he will be having healthy and deformity free kids.

4-   The right to have a true faith

Marriage is the most intimate relationship that combines spiritual harmony with physical link. This is a vital matter that affects both parties and influences their potentiality of choice to a great extent. The main aim of both parties is to seek for the right and good partner rather than an unbeliever! God says " do not marry unbelieving women (idolaters) until they believe. A slave woman who believes is better than an unbelieving woman, even though she allures you"( Sura Bakara – verse 221)

When God dictates that Muslims are to be married to believers and never to unbelievers, was to ensure a true faith and powerful religion to the coming children and not to be subjected to the whims of an unbelieving father or mother.

5- The right to get into heaven

Islam maintains the right of fetus to get into heaven and to stay away from Hell as God says " O you who believe! Save yourselves and your families from fire" . A believing father raises his children on virtues and the dictations of Islam which works as a firewall against tracing the devil's track. Thus Islam ensures religious family for fetus and a believing social background.

6- The right of equality with other fetuses

Islam stipulated that it is only He, God ,the Almighty, Who grants people baby boys or girls. So, it is up to God only to determine the fetus sex, whether it is a boy or a girl. In other words, fetus is helpless when the matter of sex is concerned and this makes all fetuses equal, girls and boys.

7- The right to have a normal social life

Islam prescribed that both parties, the husband and the wife, shall be socially equivalent as this ensures a normal and social environment for the coming children, where no way that one of the parents act superciliously. As a matte of fact, this lessens the potentiality of social discord and family disunity as it enhances the social life of families and the psychological needs.

8- The right to maintain fetus life

The law of Islam has provided the right of fetus to live and prohibited any attempt of killing him and further abortion is legislated in few established situations which are determined by physicians, Islam legists together with sociologists. In Islam, violators are punished equally, whether it is the father, the mother, or some one else... as the Islamic law dictates that the violator is to be deprived from inheritance in case of getting rid of fetus to capture his  share in the inheritance. Accordingly, the right of fetus to live is secured by Islam.

Islam legists agreed unanimously on prohibiting abortion and they resorted to the fact that God granted life to such lifeless thing and only He who has the power to take it back. Physicians and embryologists agreed that fetus is a living organism even when it is still a sperm and this is a convincing reason, from the scientific point of view, for not depriving such a helpless creature form the divine right of life.

9- The right to enjoy health life within womb

In Islam, the responsibility of fetus is resorted to parents as it is to be considered one of their duties, in other words subjects, in life " You are all guardians and each one of you is responsible for his own subjects", or that is to say " good shepherd is responsible for his own sheep" . Islam stipulated that the husband shall spend on his pregnant wife and socially protect her. This provides the right of fetus to enjoy secure, and serenity and good food " Let the women live (in Iddate) in the same style as ye live, according to your means: annoy them not, so as to restrict them. And if they carry (life in their wombs), then spend (your substance on them until they deliver their burden…" (Sura Talak – verse 6)

Accordingly, in Islam the husband is entitled to pay all the expenses of his pregnant wife after divorce, including food, housing, clothing, social protection, psychological support and medicines. This protects fetus against malnutrition and psychological illness. Islam protected women as well in a way that it allowed them to work outdoors only under admissible necessity.

10- Maintaining fetus good and benefit

For fetus sake, Islamic law gives the permission to the pregnant mother to eat in Ramadan and not to fast. (Prophet Muhammad, PBUH, exempted pregnant or suckling mothers from fasting) narrated by Termezi in the Fasting section.

11- Temporary hold of penalties for the pregnant

Islamic Law stipulated the delay of executing penalties on the pregnant adulterer till delivery, as what was dictated by Prophet Muhammad, PBUH, to a pregnant adulterer in an incident (you may go till your childbirth). Thus Islam comes to absolve fetus from the guilt of his mother.

12- Maintaining fetus's financial rights

Islam preserves the right of fetus in inheritance in case if it is born live. Islam legists stated that fetus is to be counted within the total of inheritors and his share should be preserved till childbirth. In case if it is born live, his assigned share should be separated.   In Islam, patrimony is divided on the basis of holding back the major part for the sake of such fetus, and further the legacy for the fetus is considered true and correct.

13-Honorable Islamic precedence

What we have already mentioned is a small number of rights out of the large number of rights for the fetus in Islam which wad not introduced to the modern civilization until 1959, when the committee of child's rights – which is affiliated to the General Society of the United Nations – stated that both mother and baby shall get the utmost care and protection especially before delivery. In 1966 the United Nations approved on providing special care for pregnant women before and after delivery as well and granting them paid vacations.

Physique Of The Human Brain In The Light Of The Holy Quraan

Physique Of The Human Brain In The Light Of The Holy Quraan

By : Dr. Hussein Rudwan Al-Lubaidy (1)

Is the anatomical and functional physique for the upper zones of the human brain was a known thing during the messenger life (PBUH)?

Is the physique, as well as, the commanding zones of the brain like those of the hearing, sight and sentiments, and the preference zone that chooses between alternative options  were precisely and comprehensively known things after more than one thousand years following the messenger death (PBUH)?

The certain answer is: NO, the whole world was not aware of anything about the integral and refined physique of the human brain. The world started recently to know the hearing, sight, sentiments and the preference zones in the human brain. This occurred within more than one thousand years following death of the messenger (PBUH).

The last question will be: What would be the comments of the international intellectual mind if he discovers a comprehensive map for the anatomical & functional physique of the upper commanding zones in the human brain as stated by the Holy Quraan?

No doubt the logical answer : This will be a scientific proof on credibility of the messenger (PBUH) and his message, and would be a proof of certainty that the Noble Quraan is the only eternal & remaining miracle being sustained  in order to be followed by all Mankind, and to be a constitution for those who wish to follow the righteous Way.

Let us then discover secrets of the human brain (the source of civilization & the discretion organ). Let us trace a map for the supreme mental commanding zones of the brain through patient study of the verses which pertain to the hearing, sight & hear in the Noble Quraan (the eternal miracle).

Through different eras the Quraan interpreters have noticed the following:

1-The mention of the (hearing sense) precedes the (sight sense) in the holy Quran.

{And he gave you hearing, sights, and hearts that you might give thanks (to Allah} (An-Nahl 78)

{And indeed We had firmly established them with that wherewith We have not established you (O Quraish)! And We had assigned them the (faculties of) hearing, sights, and hearts; but neither their hearing, nor their sights, nor their hearts availed them aught, since they used to deny the Miracles of Allah, and they were completely encircled by that which they used to mock at!} (Al-Ahqaf 26)

2-The word hearing comes in the singular form while the word sight comes in the plural form.

3-The word Heart always comes after the word ( hearing) and the word ( sight ).

{It is He Who has created for you hearing, sights and hearts. Little thanks you give} (Al-Mum”minun 78)

4-The word (dumb) comes between the word (deaf) and the word (blind).

{deaf, dumb, and blind they will not return} (Al-Baqara 18)

The interpreters of the Holy Quraan gave their (independent reasoning) in this respect and said:

The precedence or priority of the hearing over the sight is due to the nobility / high rank of the hearing or the ear. The ear hears from all sides and it is the perception tool for the Revelation, and the sleeping person could be awakens by it.

Al-Qurtubi interpretation sets out that:

Most philosophers mentioned the precedence of the sight over the hearing because the hearing can only perceives the voices & the talk, while the sight perceives the bodies as well as colors & all shapes.

Al-Alusi states in his interpretation that:

Verily, all the senses are of importance if being in their usual order. He who lost one sense is deemed in lack of one perception, and to favor some senses than others is a mere nonsense.

Hence the idea of giving precedence to the hearing over the sight, because of the hearing nobility / high rank, is wrongful or groundless but nevertheless it had no substitute.

Then the surprise came to direct all attention to the amazing secret behind

giving precedence to the hearing over the sight. These are the verses that

mention the (eye) and the (ear). In these verses we notice that the (eye) precedes the (ear) which is the reverse situation compared to the hearing & the sight.

Surat Al-Araf {v.179} states:

{And surely, We have created many of the jinn and mankind for Hell. They have hearts wherewith they understand not, and they have eyes wherewith they see not, and they have ears wherewith they hear not (the truth)…}

Verse {195} of Al-Araf states:

{Have they legs wherewith they walk? Or have they hands wherewith they

hold? Or have they eyes wherewith they see? Or have they ears wherewith they hear}

Surat Al-Maidah in verse {45} states: -

{And We ordained therein for them: life for life, eye for eye, nose for nose, ear for ear..}

If the hearing precedes over the sight in the former verses, then the eye precedes over the ear in the latter verses. Hence if the precedence is due to nobility / high rank, the ear should preceded over the eye as the hearing preceded the sight because the ear is the hearing tool while the eye is the vision tool.

Therefore, the issue is not one of nobility / high rank of an organ over another one but something else, a scientific miracle by all measures. Scientists have found Hearing Centers inside the human brain, which perceive the audibles & give them reason. They found centers for the vision inside the human brain, which perceive the visible things & give them reason. They found that the tool of the Hearing Center is the ear, which brings the voices, while the tool of the Vision Center is the eye, which brings the images.

Though the eye precedes the ear in Man’s head but anatomically the Hearing Center precedes the Vision Center inside Man’s brain.

Here, the undoubtful miracle appears. The words hearing & sight in the Quranic verses come according to the locational order for the hearing and vision Centers inside Man’s brain. But Man in addition to being endowed with ear & eyesight has the ability to produce refined human eloquence.

The Brain scientists have found a zone located between the Hearing Center in the front and the Vision Center at the rear which is called Fornix. When the Hearing Center meets the Vision Center the in-between zone comprises the production place for the human eloquence.

The Quranic verse we already mentioned {deaf, dumb, and blind} refers in dazzling inimitability to the eloquence zone in the human brain. The word {dumb} which is situated between {deaf} at the beginning & {blind} at the end refers to the eloquence zone in the brain which is situated in the brain between the Hearing Center in the front and the Vision Center in the rear.

If the deafness is deemed as the hearing inactivation and if the blindness is the sight inactivation, the dumbness is therefore an inactivation of the eloquence.

And because those who are described as {deaf, dumb and blind} are the atheists who enjoy good hearing and sharp sight and eloquent tongue, the  {deafness} here means inactivation of the hearing perception and {blindness} means inactivation of the sight perception, while {dumbness} becomes a mental defect pertaining to the perception of eloquence.

Verse no.76 of Surat Al-Nahl gave support in that respect:-

{And Allah puts forward an example of two men, one of them is dumb, who has no power over any thing (disbeliever), and he is a burden on his master; whichever way he directs him, he brings no good. Is such a man equal to one (believer in the Islamic Monotheism) who command justice, and is himself on the Straight Path}

Then in this case it’s as if the word {dumb} refers to the eloquence zone which is located in-between the Hearing Center and the Vision Center inside the brain.

And consequently, the meaning of the word {dumb} and its usages in the Holy Quran refers to the function of the Eloquence Center inside the human brain.

Let us stop here to draw and specify the zones mentioned in the verses pertaining to the hearing, sight and eloquence & then raise a query: Are the Upper mental zones inside Man’s brain are only restricted to the hearing, sight, eloquence & their related memory?

Scientists have found that main eloquence zone is located in-between the Hearing Center and the Vision Center inside the brain.

My answer is : No, the brain contains in its deepness other zones having relation with sentiments and sensations... Inside these zones Man’s brain switches from computer machine with a memory to a greater meaning in which the computing brain with its memory unites with the sentiment. It hears & understands what it hears & acts in return. It sees & understands what it sees & acts in return. Through that action the hearing and the sight are directed. This greater meaning does not exist in the advanced machines that are supported with high potentials of input & output. Whatever those machines are sophisticated it remain an inanimate bodies devoid of the passion and sentimental responses.

Is it possible to determine location and function of the sensations and sentiments’ zones through verses of the miraculous Holy Quran?

The answer is: Yes, this is possible. But how?

By Careful study of the verses in which the word Fouad (heart) is mentioned will reveals the following remarks: -

1- The word Fouad (heart) is constantly placed in the Quran after the word (hearing) and the word (sight).

2- The word Fouad (heart) comes in the plural form (i.e.Afeida) like the (sight).

{…And He gave you hearing, sights, and Afeida (hearts) that you might give thanks to Allah}

3- The word Al-Fouad (heart) comes in meanings such as the sentiments, instincts and sensations.

{So fill some Afeida (hearts) among men with love towards them} Sentiments

{And so We have appointed for every prophet enemies--- Shayatin (devils) among mankind and jinn, inspiring one another with adorned speech as a delusion} up to the verse in which Allah says {(And this is in this order) that the Afeida (Hearts) of those who disbelieve in the Hereafter may incline to such (deceit)} Instincts

{The fire of Allah kindled which leap up over the Afeida (hearts)}Sensations

While the heart comes in comprehensive meanings which include the mind and the sentiment.

{Have they not traveled through the land, and have they hearts wherewith to understand ?}

4- Identification of the heart on one part and the Fouad on the other!

{And the Fouad of the mother of Moses became empty (from every thought, except the thought of Moses. She was very near to disclose his, had We not strengthened her heart (with faith).}

Also in the messenger sayings (PBUH):-

(Yemen’s people are of soft hearts & of mild Afeida).

(Allah would make your heart fearless and would lead your Fouad)

scientists found that there is a center for emotions and instincts in the middle of the brain

These obvious remarks make an identification between the heart on one part & the Fouad on the other. It makes the (Fouad) organically connected to the hearing and to the vision and has connection with sensations, sentiments and instincts. If the hearing refers to the Hearing Center where the audibles are perceived and given reason, and if the vision refers to the Vision Center where the visible things are perceived. Hence the (Fouad) which is organically connected to the hearing and the vision should be referring to the sensations & sentiment’s zone. But, is it possible to identify the Fouad’s location as being the brain’s heart through the Quran verses?

The answer is: Yes, due to existence of the Fouad in a fixed place after the vision, and not after the Vision Center at the rear. This requires us to take the direction towards the brain deepness whereas scientists have discovered the sensations & sentiments’s zones. But the question arises: Are the sensations and the passion therein is deemed a human merit?

The answer is: No, because the heart has sensational feelings and it reacts towards its feelings.

Hence, the question arises: What is the higher human value, which makes the human being eligible for discretion & commandment?

The answer is: It is the discretionary power which enable it to choose between alternative options.

Is there any place inside the human’s brain in which this higher human value occurs?

The answer is: Yes, it is the front of the forehead lobe in Man’s brain and recently the scientists discovered its connection with the faculty that chooses between alternative options & with the higher mental connections.

Is there any reference in the Quran to the location and function of the frontal lobe?

The answer is: Yes, but how?

By studying of the following verses:

{…There is not a moving (living) creature but He has the grasp of its forelock} Surat HUD.

In Sutra Al-‘Alaq:

{Have you seen him who prevents * A slave when he prays * have you considered if he were on right way * Or enjoins piety * Have you considered if he gives the lie to the truth and turns (his) back ? * Does he not know that Allah does see? * Nay! If he ceases not, We will Catch him by forelock * A lying sinful forelock ! }

The forelock in the language & interpretation means the forehead at the hair’s nodes or the front zone.

The first verse of (Surat Hud) determines that the forelock is the higher control and command place for the human being. The second verse of (Surat Al’-Alaq) explains that the forelock is the place for the faculty that chooses between alternative options.

Finally: We can draw three-dimensional image for the brain and specify thereon location and function of the hearing, vision, sentiment and forelock’s Centers as clarified by the following drawing.

The three-dimensional image for the human brain is revealed by verses of the sole remaining miracle (the Holy Quran) as follow :

1- When the word ( eye ) comes along with the word ( ear ) in one verse, the eye precedes the ear in the words order.

The eye is located also in the front of Man’s head while the ear follows it at the rear of Man’s head.

2-The words order for the hearing & the sight in all verses of the Quran is identical to the locational order for the Hearing and Vision’s Center inside the human brain.

Therefore the hearing precedes the sight in the holy Quran and, the Hearing Centers are located in front of the Vision Centers inside the human brain.

3-The word Al-Fouad takes a fixed order after the words ( hearing) and ( sight) in all verses of the holy Quran. In Arabic language it has the meaning of glow and it also called Al-Qalib ( the heart).

Scientists have found centers for the sentiments & instincts which are located in the brain’s deepness.

4-The word ( dumb) always comes in order between the words ( deaf & blind ) in all verses of the Quran.

The scientists have found a main Eloquence Center located inside the human brain between the Hearing Center & the Vision Center.

The Miracle of Human Creation

The Birth of the Human being

Many diverse subjects are mentioned in the Qur'an in the course of inviting people to believe. Sometimes the heavens, sometimes animals, and sometimes plants are shown as evidence to man by God. In many of the verses, people are called upon to turn their attention to their own creation. They are often reminded how man came into the world, which stages he has passed through, and what his essence is:

(It is We Who have created you. Why, then, do you not accept the truth? Have you ever considered that (seed) which you emit? Is it you who create it? Or are We the Creator?) (The Qur'an, 56:57-59)

The creation of man, and the miraculous aspect of this, is stressed in many other verses. Some items of information within these verses are so detailed that it is impossible for anyone living in the 7th century to have known them. Some of these are as follows:

1. Man is not created from the entire semen, but only a very small portion of it (sperm).

2. It is the male that determines the sex of the baby.

3. The human embryo adheres to the mother's uterus like a leech.

4. The embryo develops in three dark regions in the uterus.

People living when the Qur'an was revealed, to be sure, knew that the basic substance of birth was related to the semen of the male emitted during sexual intercourse. And the fact that the baby was born after a nine-month period was obviously an observable event not calling for any further investigation. However, the items of information just quoted were far above the level of learning of the people living at that time. These were verified by 20th century science.

Now, let us go over them one by one.

A Drop of Semen

During sexual intercourse, 250 million sperms are emitted from the male at a time. The sperms undertake an arduous journey in the mother's body until they make it to the ovum. Only a thousand out of 250 million sperms succeed in reaching the ovum. At the end of this five-minute race, the ovum, half the size of a grain of salt, will let only one of the sperms in. That is, the essence of man is not the whole semen, but only a small part of it. This is explained in the Qur'an:

( Does man reckon he will be left uncontrolled (without purpose)? Was he not once a drop of ejected semen? ) (The Qur'an, 75:36-37)

In the picture to the left, we see semen ejected into the uterus. Only very few sperms out of 250 million sperms emitted  from the male can make it to the ovum. The sperm that will fertilise the egg is the only one out of a thousand sperms that have managed to survive. The fact that man is made not from the entire semen, but only a small part of it, is related in the Qur'an with the expression, "a drop of ejected semen".

As we have seen, the Qur'an informs us that man is made not from the entire semen, but only a small part of it. That the particular emphasis in this statement announces a fact only discovered by modern science is evidence that the statement is divine in origin.

The Mixture in the Semen

The fluid called semen, which contains the sperms, does not consist of sperms alone. On the contrary, it is made up of a mixture of different fluids. These fluids have different functions, such as containing the sugar necessary for providing energy for the sperms, neutralising the acids at the entrance of the uterus, and creating a slippery environment for the easy movement of the sperms.

The Arabic word "sulala", translated as "extract", means the essential or best part of something. By either implication, it means "part of a whole". This shows that the Qur'an is the word of a Will that knows the creation of man down to its slightest detail. This Will is God, the Creator of man.

Interestingly enough, when semen is mentioned in the Qur'an, this fact, which was discovered by modern science, is also referred to, and semen is defined as a mixed fluid:

(We created man from a mingled drop to test him, and We made him hearing and seeing.) (The Qur'an, 76:2)

In another verse, semen is again referred to as a mixture, and it is stressed that man is created from the "extract" of this mixture:

(He who has created all things in the best possible way. He commenced the creation of man from clay; then He made his progeny from an extract of discarded fluid.) (The Qur'an, 32:7-8)

The Arabic word "sulala", translated as "extract", means the essential or best part of something. By either implication, it means "part of a whole". This shows that the Qur'an is the word of a Will that knows the creation of man down to its slightest detail. This Will is God, the Creator of man.

The Sex of the Baby

Until fairly recently, it was thought that a baby's sex was determined by the mother's cells. Or at least, it was believed that the sex was determined by the male and female cells together. But we are given different information in the Qur'an, where it is stated that masculinity or femininity is created out of "a drop of sperm which has been ejected".

(He has created both sexes, male and female from a drop of semen which has been ejected.) (The Qur'an, 53:45-46)

In the Qur'an, it is said that masculinity or femininity are created out of "a drop of semen which has been ejected". However, until fairly recently, it was believed that a baby's sex was determined by the mother's cells. Science only discovered this information given in the Qur'an in the 20th century. This and many other similar details about the creation of man were stated in the Qur'an centuries ago.

The developing disciplines of genetics and molecular biology have scientifically validated the accuracy of this information given by the Qur'an. It is now understood that sex is determined by the sperm cells from the male, and that the female has no role in this process.

Chromosomes are the main elements in determining sex. Two of the 46 chromosomes that determine the structure of a human being are identified as the sex chromosomes. These two chromosomes are called "XY" in males, and "XX" in females, because the shapes of the chromosomes resemble these letters. The Y chromosome carries the genes that code for masculinity, while the X chromosome carries the genes that code for femininity.

The formation of a new human being begins with the cross combination of one of these chromosomes, which exist in males and females in pairs. In females, both components of the sex cell, which divides into two during ovulation, carry X chromosomes. The sex cell of a male, on the other hand, produces two different kinds of sperm, one that contains X chromosomes and the other Y chromosomes. If an X chromosome from the female unites with a sperm that contains an X chromosome, then the baby is female. If it unites with the sperm that contains a Y chromosome, the baby is male.

In other words, a baby's sex is determined by which chromosome from the male unites with the female's ovum.

None of this was known until the discovery of genetics in the 20th century. Indeed, in many cultures, it was believed that a baby's sex was determined by the female's body. That was why women were blamed when they gave birth to girls.

Thirteen centuries before human genes were discovered, however, the Qur'an revealed information that denies this superstition, and referred to the origin of sex lying not with women, but with the semen coming from men.

The Y chromosome carries characteristics of masculinity, while the X chromosome carries those of femininity. In the mother's egg, there is only the X chromosome, which determines female characteristics. In the semen from the father, there are sperms that includes either X or Y chromosomes. Therefore, the sex of the baby depends on whether the sperm fertilising the egg contains an X or Y chromosome. In other words, as stated in the verse, the factor determining the sex of the baby is the semen, which comes from the father. This knowledge, which could not have been known at the time when the Qur'an was revealed, is evidence to the fact that the Qur'an is the word of God.

The Clot Clinging to the Uterus

If we keep on examining the facts announced to us in the Qur'an about the formation of human beings, we again encounter some very important scientific miracles.

When the sperm of the male unites with the ovum of the female, the essence of the baby to be born is formed. This single cell, known as a "zygote" in biology, will instantly start to reproduce by dividing, and eventually become a "piece of flesh" called an embryo. This of course can only be seen by human beings with the aid of a microscope.

In the first phase of its development, the baby in the mother's womb is in the form of a zygote, which clings to the uterus in order to take nourishment from the mother's blood. In the picture above is a zygote, which looks like a piece of flesh. This formation, which has been discovered by modern embryology, was miraculously stated in the Qur'an 14 centuries ago with the word "alaq", which means "a thing that clings to some place" and is used to describe leeches that cling to a body to suck blood.

The embryo, however, does not spend its developmental period in a void. It clings to the uterus just like roots that are firmly fixed to the earth by their tendrils. Through this bond, the embryo can obtain the substances essential to its development from the mother's body.(1)

Here, at this point, a very significant miracle of the Qur'an is revealed. While referring to the embryo developing in the mother's womb, God uses the word "alaq" in the Qur'an:

(Recite: In the name of your Lord Who created man from alaq. Recite: And your Lord is the Most Generous.) (The Qur'an, 96:1-3)

The meaning of the word "alaq" in Arabic is "a thing that clings to some place". The word is literally used to describe leeches that cling to a body to suck blood.

Certainly, the use of such an appropriate word for the embryo developing in the mother's womb, proves once again that the Qur'an is a revelation from God, the Lord of all the Worlds.

The wrapping of muscles over the bones

Another important aspect of the information given in the verses of the Qur'an is the developmental stages of a human being in the mother's womb. It is stated in the verses that in the mother's womb, the bones develop first, and then the muscles form which wrap around them.

((We) then formed the drop into a clot and formed the clot into a lump and formed the lump into bones and clothed the bones in flesh; and then brought him into being as another creature. Blessed be God, the Best of Creators!) (The Qur'an, 23:14)

Embryology is the branch of science that studies the development of the embryo in the mother's womb. Until very recently, embryologists assumed that the bones and muscles in an embryo developed at the same time. For this reason, for a long time, some people claimed that these verses conflicted with science. Yet, advanced microscopic research conducted by virtue of new technological developments has revealed that the revelation of the Qur'an is word for word correct.

These observations at the microscopic level showed that the development inside the mother's womb takes place in just the way it is described in the verses. First, the cartilage tissue of the embryo ossifies. Then muscular cells that are selected from amongst the tissue around the bones come together and wrap around the bones.

Many stages of a baby's development in the mother's womb are related in the Qur'an. As described in verse 14 of Sura Muminun, the cartilage of the embryo in the mother's womb ossifies first. Then these bones are covered with muscle cells. God describes this development with the verse: "É(We then) formed the lump into bones and clothed the bones in flesh"

This event is described in a scientific publication titled Developing Human in the following words:

During the seventh week, the skeleton begins to spread throughout the body and the bones take their familiar shapes. At the end of the seventh week and during the eighth week the muscles take their positions around the bone forms.(1)

In short, man's developmental stages as described in the Qur'an are in perfect harmony with the findings of modern embryology.

Three Stages of the Baby in the Womb

In the Qur'an, it is related that man is created in a three-stage process in the mother's womb.

(... He creates you stage by stage in your mothers' wombs in a threefold darkness. That is God, your Lord. Sovereignty is His. There is no god but Him. So what has made you deviate?) (The Qur'an, 39:6)

As will be understood, it is pointed out in this verse that a human being is created in the mother's womb in three distinct stages. Indeed, modern biology has revealed that the baby's embryological development takes place in three distinct regions in the mother's womb. Today, in all the embryology textbooks studied in faculties of medicine, this subject is taken as an element of basic knowledge. For instance in Basic Human Embryology, a fundamental reference text in the field of embryology, this fact is stated as follows: "The life in the uterus has three stages: pre-embryonic; first two and a half weeks, embryonic; until the end of the eight week, and fetal; from the eight week to labor." (1)

These phases refer to the different developmental stages of a baby. In brief, the main characteristics of these developmental stages are as follows:

- Pre-embryonic stage : In this first phase, the zygote grows by division, and when it becomes a cell cluster, it buries itself in the wall of the uterus. While they continue growing, the cells organise themselves in three layers.

- Embryonic Stage : The second phase lasts for five and a half weeks, during which the baby is called an "embryo". In this stage, the basic organs and systems of the body start to appear from the cell layers.

- Fetal stage : From this stage on, the embryo is called a "foetus". This phase begins at the eighth week of gestation and lasts until the moment of birth. The distinctive characteristic of this stage is that the foetus looks just like a human being, with its face, hands and feet. Although it is only 3 cm. long initially, all of its organs have become apparent. This phase lasts for about 30 weeks, and development continues until the week of delivery.

In the verse 6 of Sura Zumar, it is pointed out that man is created in the mother's womb in three distinct stages. Indeed, modern embryology has revealed that the baby's embryological development takes place in three distinct regions in the mother's womb.

Information on the development in the mother's womb became available only after observations with modern devices. Yet, just like many other scientific facts, these pieces of information are imparted in the verses of the Qur'an in a miraculous way. The fact that such detailed and accurate information was given in the Qur'an at a time when people had scarce information on medical matters is clear evidence that the Qur'an is not the word of man, but the word of God.

The evil eye

Allah said in holly Quran As what Ya’qub ( Jacob ) the prophet of Allah said to his sons when they prepared themselves to travel to Egypt in the story of the prophet Yusuf  ( Joseph ) Allah’ peace be upon him:( Further he said: O my sons enter not all by one gate: enter ye by different gates. Not that I can profit you aught against Allah (with my advice): none can command except Allah: on him did I put my trust: and let all that trust put their trust on him.@And when they entered in the manner their father had enjoined, it did not profit them in the lest against (the plan of) Allah: it was but a necessity of Jacob's soul, which he discharged. For he was, by our instruction, full of knowledge (and experience): but most men know not).( SURAH  YUSUF:67.68)

The interpretors of the Holy Koran say that the prophet Ya’qub ( Jacob) peace be upon him had always fear for  his sons from Sahl Ibn Haneef may, God be pleased with him , said that the messenger of Allah had said : If anyone of you see what pleases him of himself  or his  property so let him ask for the blessing of Allah upon it , since  the eye ( the evil eye ) is fact  . Quoted from the book Al athkar by the nawawee .                            And in athor  hadeeth : beg  Allah to protect you from the  evil eye , because the eye ( an evil eye ) is fact .

The meaning of ( the eye is fact ) is : its damage is sure and being .

The prophet peace be up on him also said:the eye ( evil eye ) may enters the man into grave , and the camel into the cooking pot

The new science has discovered that the eye possesses an extraordinary power.

The English scientist and researcher: lin maktagaret said in her book entitled: looking for the secret of the universe power:

That there was fabulous researches conducted in the middle of the last century in the United States, Great Britain, Germany and Russia, but at the end the Americans were the leaders about the universe power. The writer also confirms that these researches made great jumps in 1973, when the king faissal ben Abed Alaziz decided to stop selling the Arab petrol to the westerns.

In that time the American government gathered all the great scientists in energy and physics, and sponsored them in order to find a strategic solution i.e. an other energy source, that can be used for the machines and instruments instead of the oil.

However after the murder of the king faissal and the discovery of oil in Texas and South America, and the reconciliation with the Arabs the government stopped sponsoring these scientists.

Because these scientist during there work on that project, discovered very interesting bizarre things concerning the universe energy, they decided to continue there researches on that topic and they came across many interesting findings until today.

And the result was the pioneering of much new information which led the CIA and the NASA to look in these topics deeply.

Some of the conclusions of the scientist after studying the energy of the universe are that the universe is linked and it contains a certain amount of energy, and every part of it affects the other. These conclusions prove what was found by the studies of the Quantum physics, which appeared after Newton and the theories of Albert Einstein in the energy and time.

One of these studies, was studying the atom which is composed of a nucleus and an electron, so called: nuclear physics, then the inside of the atom was studied”the subatomic particles” and this science is called the Particle Physics

It is known that the electron surrounds and move around the nuclueus in the direction opposite to that of the clock pointer. When the motion of the subatomic particles was analysed, it was found that these particles move right or left or around depending on the thought of the scientist studying them, as the particle will move in whatever direction he expects it to move. So it was conclude that the thought affects the movement of the subatomic particles, and therefore it affects the nucleus and if strong enough it may affect the whole atom, it may also affect the envirement that is full of atoms. This explains what happens when it comes to the jalousie or magic and other related topics, which were all discussed in her book.

Due to the importance of the power the human thinking has, the CIA tried to use it and its scientist: Grill Frame using these methods was able to detect the URSS nuclear power placement from a very long distance.

Some other studies have shown that this power is not peculiar to some specific gifted people, but a characteristic that is found in most human beings, the only condition to be able to use it: is to know one’s power and to think of the ways to employ it. And the most fabulous power able to cause a such effect, was possessed by a young person called Mathew Manning, from a small city called Linton near Cambridge, as he was able to bend spoons and knives just by looking at them, and he was able to stop the movement of a clock just by looking at it,, in addition he could stop the electricity. He was also able to affect the movement of the blood in the arteries and the veins and he could affect the terrible disease called cancer.

Also it was known that Napoleon Bonaparte had a very strong jealous look. As if he looked at his adversary for a long time, he will cause him many problems and if he looked at something it would break. And the inside of his eye was yellow instead of white.

However the most strange and the most correct scientifically of these cases, was the experiment that was carried on a girl called: Nilia Mickailoufa, who was able by a simple look from a distance of 6 miles to separate the yellow part of an egg from the white, using her power to move things without getting close to them.

This experiment was conducted on the presence of a great number of scientists in the University of Lingrad, many cameras were there to register every step, in addition to other instruments that were used to measure her blood pressure, the heart rate and the nervous system activity. Mrs Nilia was able to separate the white of the egg from the yellow after half an hour, however after the experiment Mrs Nilia suffered from the following:

·        Irregular hear activity with an increase in the heart rate which reached 240.

·        An increase in the amount of glucose in the blood.

·        She lost two kilos of her original weight.

·        She was very exhausted.

·        She lost her vision temporarily.

·        A very hard pain in her extremities.

·        She was not able to sleep after the experiment for several days.

·        She lost her ability to taste.

The discovery of the case of Nilia was by the scientist Edoird FAmouf, a professor in the University of Moscow who studies her power. Using some matches that Nilia was able to move by passing her hand over them, after they were put unorganised on a table and then by using a peace of glass between her hands and the matches.

But who told the prophet Mohamed peace be upon him 1400 years ago about the power of the eye was no one but the almighty Allah the creator of the universe.

The Coccyx

The Coccyx is the last bone in the vertebral column. It was mentioned in many Hadiths that this bone is the origin of humans and the seed from which they will be resurrected on the Day of Judgment and that this part doesn’t decay in the earth.

The honoured Hadiths:

  1. Abu Huraira reported that The Prophet (PBUH) said: “All what of son of Adam will (be eaten???) by the earthexcept the coccyx from which he was created and from which he will be resurrected Reported by Albukhari, Al Nassaii, Abu Daoud, Ibn Majah and Ahmad in his Mousnad and Malek in his Mouattaa.

  2. As was reported by Abu Huraira the prophet (PBUH) said: “There is a bone in the Son Of Adam that the earth will never eat. They said what is it Oh Prophet of Allah? He said: It is the coccyx”  Reported by Albukhari, Al Nassaii, Abu Daoud, Ibn          Majah, Ahmad in his book “al Mousnad” and Malek in his book “Al Mouattaa”.

So the previous Hadiths are clear and contain the following facts:

  1. Human are created from the coccyx.

  2. The coccyx does not get decayed.

  3. On the Day of Judgment, the Resurrection will be from the coccyx.

Stages of foetus formation:

When the sperm fecundate the ovule, foetus formation starts. The fecundated ovule or the zygote divides into 2 cells, and each cell divides into another 2 cells. Cells division and growth continue until the formation of the embryonic disk that contains 2 layers:

The vertebral column and the last vertebrae

  • External “Epiblast”: contains the cytotrophoblasts that fix the embryo in the uterus wall and enable its nutrition from the blood and the secretions of the glands of the uterus wall.

  • Internal “Hypoblast”: From which the foetus is formed with the Will of Allah The Almighty. On the day15 the primitive streakappears in the dorsal aspect of the embryo with a pointed end called the primitive node.

The side on which the primitive streak appears is known as the back of the embryonic disc. From the primitive streak and node all the foetus tissues and organs are formed as follows:

  • The Ectoderm: gives the skin and the central nervous system

  • The Mesoderm: gives the digestive tract smooth muscles, the skeletal muscles, the circulation system, the heart, the bones the sexual and urinary systems (except the bladder), the subcutaneous tissues, the lymphatic system, the spleen and the cortex.

  • The Endoderm: the linings of the digestive tract and the respiratory system, the organs related to the digestive tract (ex: liver and pancreas), the bladder, the thyroid gland, the hearing canal.

After that, the primitive streak and node become emaciated and reside in the sacral zone, in the last vertebrae, so that the coccyx is formed.

Therefore, the primitive streak and the primitive node represent the coccyx that the prophet (PBUH) told us about.(1)

Foetus malformation is a proof that the coccyx contains the mother cells for all the human tissues:

After the creation and formation of the foetus from the primitive streak and the primitive node, those reside in the last vertebrae of the sacrum (the coccyx) and retain their characteristics. If those are motivated somehow, they start to grow similarly to the foetus growth and so give a tumour (Teratoma) that resembles a defective foetus with some organs fully formed (hands or feet with nails) (see the picture). Therefore the sacrum indeed contains the mother cells and what the prophet (PBUH) said about the Resurrection of humans from their coccyx on the Day of Judgment has been proved.

The conclusion: the coccyx contains the primitive streak and primitive node and those are able to grow giving the three layers that form the foetus: ectoderm, mesoderm and endoderm and so can give all the organs as the surgeon when opening the tumour previously mentioned found fully formed organs inside it like teeth, hair…

Humans can be then recreated from their coccyx that contains the primitive streak and node of the overall potential. (2)

And so the coccyx can not get decayed:

Researchers found that foetus cells’ formation and organisation are exerted by the primitive streak and node and before their formation no cells’ differentiation could have taken place. One of the most famous researchers who proved this was the German scientist Hans Spemann.

After his experiments on the primitive streak and node he found that those organise the creation of the foetus and so he called them “The primary organiser”. He cut this part from one foetus and implanted it in another one in the primary embryonic stage (third and fourth week). This lead to the formation of a secondary foetus in the guest body due to the influence and organisation exerted by the surrounding guest’s cells on the implant.

The German scientist started his experiments on the amphibians by implanting the primary organiser in a second foetus, which led to the growth of a secondary embryo. The implantation of the cut primary organiser was in another foetus of the same age under the Epiblast layer and lead to the apparition of a secondary embryonic anlage.

In 1931, when Spemann crushed the primary organiser and implanted it again, the crushing did not affect the experiment as again, a secondary embryonic anlage grew.

In 1933, Spemann and other scientists conducted the same experiment but the primary organiser was boiled this time.  A secondary embryonic anlage grew in spite of the boiling showing that the cells were not affected. In 1935, Spemann was awarded the Nobel Prize for his discovery of the Primary Organiser. (3)

Dr Othman Al Djilani and Sheikh Abd Al Majid Azzandani did some experiments on the coccyx in Ramadan 1423 in Sheikh Abd Al Majid Azzandani’s house in Sanaa.

One of the two vertebras of 5 coccyx bones were burnt on stones using a gas gun for 10 minutes until their total combustion (the bones became red then black). They put the carbonised pieces in sterilised boxes and took them to the most famous analysis laboratory in Sanaa (Al Olaki laboratory). Dr al Olaki, the professor in histology and pathology in Sanaa University, analysed the pieces and found that the cells of the bone tissues of the coccyx were not affected and they survived the burning  (only the muscles the fatty tissues and the bone marrow cells were burnt while the coccyx bone cells were not affected). Spirit under The light of Holy Quraan

Spirit under The light of Holy Quraan

By  Dr. Ahmed Shawky AL-Fangari(1*)

The human being tried from very long ago to know what is Spirit? And what is Death? In the scientific explosion era in 20th century he begin to get assisted with accurate scientific instruments in (spirit) studies. a lot of scientific universities in Europe and U.S.A confessed with this science and assigned to it place for teaching and learning with others phenomena which called behind nature (metaphysics) the first was Cambridge in 1940,Then Oxford in 1943 Then the rest later on.

A lot of civil institutions also were established in the world from the serious researchers and amateurs and exchanged studies and scientific experiments and have regular magazines such as spiritual magazine in England and America … they also done a lot of seminars and conferences exactly as any medical and scientific institutions to exchange the latest achievements.

One of their first experiments was when they put a man dying on a device with scales to measures (spirit) quantity after leaving his body and they put on his head (EEG) to measure his brain vibrations during death and (EEG) to his heart to draw it’s graph and they also put special cameras (infrared photography) to photograph the spirit during leaving, as they found that it can't appear with the normal light (1).

The scientists also found strong connections between spirits science, hypnosis & telepathy (which concerns thought's transporting from remote) and also sciences of ghosts and jinn.

This science didn’t become only a hobby or amusement or discovering the unknown… but also it entered medical therapy field and especially the diseases that modern medicine couldn’t treat such as Epilepsy, Madness and Schizophrenia (2).and a lot of books and magazines were published, some of them succeed to do surgical operations with spirits and succeed to treat the tumors of human body in general conference and with witness of physicians.

In the scientist vision the spirit is waves with high vibrations which exist   between us in all places and in ether world…but we can’t see or hear it   because of disability of human eye and ear to do that… as science prove that human eye can only see in particular limits called spectrum colors. As red light we see has vibration (4x10^10) = 400 thousand millions vibration/sec…

but infrared is less than that. So the eye can't see it. And the violet ray has vibration (7x10^10) = 700 thousand millions vibration/sec if it increase above it, it can't be seen, they estimated that spirit is a vibration higher than the violet rays and less than (X-ray).

The same to the human ear which can hear just 20:20000 vibration/second and above this rate can’t hear, and it was proven by experiment that some animals like dogs, horses and cats can hear better than human, so we see that it may flinch and shout unexpectedly as it hear what we couldn't able to…

Spirit scientists divide evidences to two kinds; (mental) and (physical) in the first kind there is phenomena of (telesphy), (clainvoiance), and Direct speech where spirits use throat of the mediator and speak its own language which mediator may not know.

In physical evidences there is theory of (materialization), (levitation) and (psychic photography) which considered a new science appeared lately after inventing special films.

and the last achievement about the (D.N.A) that scientists consider it the secret of life and spirit in the living cell and discovering of it’s chemical structure, the one who discover it won Noble prize.

And despite all this researches and achievements humanity still on the begging of The way and this subject still one of the ambiguous secrets to science, (The religion) still the main source for science about the spirit secret.

The religion prospect

There is no definition to the spirit in both Bible and Torah. But this word were used with moral and abstract signs such as evil spirit means: (devil), wicked spirit (which separate between people), hidden spirit like angels and sacred spirit to describe God.

When God sent prophet Mohammed to his nation and declared to them that he is a prophet, some of them went to the Jews and asked them about the thing they can use to test this prophet they answered ask him about something that no prophet before him have mentioned, the spirit, and when they asked him, the prophet asked them to give him a time to answer them then Holy Quraan answered: (And they are asking you about the spirit, Say: The Spirit is by command of my God, and you are not given aught of knowledge but a little) { Al-Israa85}.The scientific meaning of this verse is that the spirit is a difficult matter for people to understand because it bigger than their minds & science, and whatever man have of knowledge he can’t understand it, and this was the secret of this short answer to avoid people to fall into chaos and assumes, and worry themselves with philosophical matters and forget the new religion and the call for it. Holy Quraan explainers after that put a lot of explanations for this, some of them said that this answer prevent the Muslims from studying and searching in this matter…but most of them said that it is not said (say the spirit is one of my God's secrets )but said(The Spirit is by command of my God) and there is a big and clear difference between the two meanings, thus the Muslims scientists didn’t stop writing and searching in this subject such as the book (the spirit) by Ibn Sina and (the spirit) by Ibn Al-Kaim and a lot of books through different ages.

The following are some facts about spirit which the Holy Quraan discuss and modern science come to prove it :

1-The fact that we can't hear or see the spirit not because it hasn’t exist but because the inability for eye and ear to recognize it, and we have mentioned this scientifically and Holy Quraan confirmed this fact when it tells us that there is a lot of things around us which we can’t see with our eyes; The Almighty said (But nay! I swear by that which you see, And that which you do not see) {Al-Hakaa 38-39}. So the wonder of Quraan appear when The Almighty swear with the quantities of things we can see with our eyes the modern science estimate this things when it said that the proportion to what the eye see and don’t see is 1:10 million and this is very big proportion that no one imagine or suppose when Holy Quraan was descended and this was the reason to this great swear.

2-  The Islam wasn't incapable against this phenomenon. When modern science was incapable fromexplaining it, prophet Mohammed (Peace upon him) said about it: (it is heard by every thing except Human and if he hears it he will be shocked){El-Bokhary}.

Cause God have created the eye and ear unable to hear or see spirits… to avoid human the terrify and shock from hearing it and this obvious matter and great mercy of God to human being… because physical relation between human and spirits doesn’t exist and he can’t touch or speak with them in normal circumstances…no doubt we will be terrified if we see or hear them without touching them.

Holy Quraan confirms this fact even with the prophets: prophet Abraham was terrified when angels visited him… when he gave them food he didn’t find a touchable body to them so he was greatly terrified; The Almighty said: (But when he saw that their hands didn’t reached it, he mistrusted them, and conceived a fear of them…) {Houd70}the explanation: angels like spirits doesn’t have a touchable bodies, the same thing happened to prophet Lut when he was visited by angels in his house, he was terrified of them,The Almighty said: (When our messengers came to Lut he was grieved for them and got fed up with them, and he lacked strength to protect them …) {Houd77}.

3-And it’s scientific miracle in Islam when it was the first which established the fact that some animals such as dogs and horses can see and hear spirits while human can't.When prophet Mohammed (Peace upon him) said:( when you hear horses whinnies and dogs barks after night silence, ask the God shelter from the stoned devil, they see what you do not see).

This scientific fact wasn’t discovered till end of the 20th century after inventing the sound and light instruments with high vibration…dog whistle was invented which dog can hear and human can't and it became one of the tools in the training and scientific experiments...

4-The Modern science confirm that the spirits can't appear or do effective work in the spiritual meeting unless it was in darkness or in very weak red light, and the reason: the spirit is light and sonic vibrations which crush in normal light or sound… so the meetings always held only at night and in moony silent nights where there is no lighting or thunder, prophet Mohammed have pointed out this fact before science, when he said:(decrease your going out to streets at the silent night because God has creatures he activate at this time) meaning of silent night: gathering between silence and darkness and it’s rhetorical shortcut.

5- Isthmus life between Quraan and science: When the spirit leave the body it won’t go to paradise or hell directly but to isthmus life, (isthmus) in Arabic (barzakh) it’s origin Persian and it was used by Arabs to point to place between two places but the Quraan used it to point to stage or life between two lives The Almighty said: (…and behind them is isthmus until the day when they resurrect) {Al-mumenoun100} it’s here life between normal life and judgment day.

And the modern science agrees with the Holy Quraan in existence of this life but it called it (ether life) which described in books of modern science: space between earth and all the skies around us…including sun and other planets, and after the wonderful discoveries in atom science, they add space which exist in all solids and the atom it self (between proton and electron) so spirits live freely in this huge spaces not stopped by any normal restrain and has the ability to pass through atom spaces even if it was solid wall.

6- Spirit moves in the isthmus life:by high speed this was estimated by one of the Contemporary Muslims Scientists with a speed equal to 50 times the speed of light, the professor Dr.  Mansour Hesb Al-Nabi the physic professor in Ain Shamse University in Egypt in his book (Scientific Miracle of Holy Quraan) he put an equation depending on two verses of Holy Quraan.

The First:when his Almighty said: (He regulates the ordinance from heaven unto earth then it ascended to him in day which equal thousand years of what you count) {Al-Sagda5} this mean that distance that order take is equal to the distance that the moon take on his orbit around the earth in 1000 moony years and when he said (of what you count) he mean in your universe and according to our normal accounts. And by solving this first Qraanic equation we obtained speed 299792,5 km/sec equal to speed of light in the space admitted globally, which agreed with Ainchitain principle.

The Second: verse is talked about the speed of spirits and angels in the unknown world and it estimated it as fifty times light speed about this equation The Almighty Said: (The angels and the spirits ascend unto him in day which the measure of which is fifty thousand years){Al-Maareg4} this means that spirit speed is 299792.5x50 km/sec (God only knows the truth).

7-Nature of spirit came from nature of God: in more than one verse, The Almighty confirms that spirit is breath from God spirit, he mentioned that in blowing spirit into Adam’s body after creating him his Almighty said: (When I made him complete and breathed into him of My spirit, then fall down before him prostrate) {Sad 72} his Almighty said about the embryo when he become alive: (Then He made him complete and breathed into him of His spirit...) {Al-Sajdah9} spirit of human is blow of God spirit and it’s nature like God nature, it can't be seen by human eye, God said about him self:  (Vision can’t comprehended him but he comprehended (all) vision and he is the Subtle and the Expert) {Al-Anaam103} and he also said: (And when Moses came at Our appointed time and his God spoke to him, he said: My God! show me yourself, so that I may gaze at you. He said: You won’t see Me…) {Al-Aaraf143}.

8- And another Medical Miracle appear, what mentioned in Holy Quraan that spirit will not be breathed into the fetus in his mother womb until he complete his third month, and jurisprudence men estimated this period by 120 days and that agree with what science reached in modern age cause fetus before this time doesn’t considered completed as he still mere liquid or leech or piece of flesh, and all this stages is without spirit or what called in medicine the biological life like life of plant or sperm and ovum. and about this The Almighty said: (Then He made him complete and breathed into him of His spirit...) {Al-Sajdah9} and he means by made him complete: completing his creation…this means that breathing of spirit happen when the fetus completed his creation and growing in the womb and this agree with what the science proves; as the fetus turned to be living being after completing the third month with voluntary move and hear voices and even some researches say that he enjoy music and get disturbed with his parents quarrels.

9- God keep the spirit in the body and it can’t leave it without his order and in specified time The Almighty said: (There is no soul but over it there is keeper) {Al-Tarek4} and the word keeper here have many different meanings as this keeper may be an angel inside or outside the body have the task to accompany and protect it from leaving the body and naturally we can’t see or feel this angel and modern science agree with this opinion but with difference in naming and the way of description as the keeper according to the science is a substances in the organic chemistry which exist in our bodies and have the task of Protecting the relationship between spirit and body and scientific theories say that if this relation was unbalanced the human will suffer with a lot of psychological and spiritual diseases without having organic ill.

10- One of the verses which puzzle the explainers of Quraan in different ages, what Almighty said: (It is He Who has produced you from one soul, then there is habitation and depository…) {Al-Anaam98} some of them explained this (habitation) the womb it self where the fetus growing, and (depository) is the man testes as it provide this womb with sperms…and this is wrong explanation because the verse speak about souls (spirits) not about bodies as Holy Quraan often talk about spirit by using word soul. and the explanation we see that the habitation is the body where the soul remain from the third month of the fetus until man death, and the depository is the isthmus life where spirits moved to awaiting the punishment day…

11- Life in isthmus:and spirits in the isthmus is happy or sad because they were informed with their places in judgment day in hell or in paradise according to their deeds in the last life, The Almighty describe life of good believers in isthmus life: (…and they rejoice for the sake of those who have not joined them but are left behind, That there shall no fear come upon them neither shall they grieve){All-Emran170} but the unbelievers and oppressors were informed with their fate in the hell and torture…The Almighty said: (But if he is of the rejecters of truth the erring ones, He shall have an entertainment of boiling water, And will inter burning-hell){Al-Waqiaa92-94} and the prophet Mohammed (Peace upon him) said about that: (the Muslim spirit is in bird which fly and eat through paradise trees until God resurrect it to his body in punishment day) {Agreed on it} and he also said: (when any one of you die he will be shown his place in paradise or hell in morning and night). and this spirits are living freely in isthmus between earth and sky and not connected with the body or the tomb…and before Islam, people were sacred the graves and built very glory graves and put in it food and lights and guards as they thought that the died spirit is linked to the grave and this things give him the happiness in his grave…but Islam order to destroy this glory graves and forbid the people to visit it until they forget this ignorant tradition, and when they believe in god and forgot it he said(I was forbidden you to visit graves, but from now visit it, it soften the hearts) and in another source…(it remind you with death) and he didn’t say: (make the died feel happy).

and this means that there is no relation between died spirit and the grave or the body and spirits vary greatly differ in isthmus habitation as some of them are in the most high place with prophets, Martyrs, people of good deeds And some in the most low places with killers, infidels, and polytheists. And that what prophet Mohammed saw in the night journey (Al-Israa night).

And the spirits in isthmus visit each other and also it hears livings voices and also get affected with their prays for them, and visit them wherever they were. Holy Quraan say:(Had it been possible for Lecture cause the mountains to move, or the earth to be torn asunder, or speak to the dead,…) {Al-Raad31}.

And prophet Mohammed was spoke to the died while visiting the graves and his companions say to him (prophet of God, you speak to stinking bodies and he answered them:(you don’t hear me more than them for what I said they hear but they can't answer) (Agreed on it).

13- useful things for the died which help him in isthmus are two kinds:

The first: the deeds which he did before his death ,as prophet Mohamed said:(what follows the believer of his work And good deeds, science was taught and spread by him, good son who prays for him, holy quraan book he inherited to, Mosque he built, home to miserable he built, river he run it and charity he spent during his health and life follows him after his death){Agreed on it}.

The second: what living people do for him: pay his debts, pray for him. Fasting for him, recite holy quraan for him, and pay continues charity by his name, and does the Hajj for him.
