"O Allah! Wash away my sins with the water of snow and hail"
Anew scientific miracle

God says what means "Nor does he say (aught) of (his own) Desire. It is no less than inspiration sent down to him "
Among the prophet's handed down invocations - narrated 'A'isha, the prophet used to say -"O Allah! Wash away my sins with the water of snow and hail, and cleanse my heart from all the sins as a white garment is cleansed from the filth " ( Ibn-Maga )And in another text
'A'isha reported that Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) used to make these supplications: "O Allah, I seek refuge in Thee from the trial of Hell-Fire; and from the torment of Hell-Fire; and from the trial of the grave and torment of the grave; and from the evil of the trial of the affluence and from the evil of the trial of poverty and I seek refuge in Thee from the evil of the turmoil of the Dajjal.O Allah, wash away my sins with snow and hail water, purify my heart from the sins as is purified the white garment from the dirt, and keep away at a distance the sins from me as yawns the distance between the East and the West; O Allah, I seek refuge in Thee from sloth, from senility, from sin, and from debt." Sahih Al-Bokary (5900)
Though we always repeat this invocation ,yet we don’t know the scientific fact that is latent in its words. From among all the other liquids , God has made water the source of all the living things creation . God says in Holy Quran what means" And We made every living thing of water " (21:30). Water has a miraculous ability when it is used to clean and dissolve dirt . I will talk about some of the qualities of water ; water is composed of two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom linked together by polar covalent bond , this polarity (resultant from the electro negativity between the atom of oxygen and the hydrogen atoms), gathers the molecules of water by the weak hydrogen bonds which give water unique different qualities that other similar-structure liquids do not have , and this makes some changes in its physical characteristics . These are : water boils at 100 degree and has high surface tension and many other characteristics that there is no room to mention them , the following figure shows the bonds of water molecules in its three states ( water – ice – water steam )

Water, which is chemically called the general solvent has a great ability to dissolve a lot of ionic substances because the polar molecules of water attack the crystal of the compound if it has the ionic quality , it isolates the attracted crystals inside the crystal lattice .And as a result a mutual attraction power between the polar molecules of water and the ions emerges , the attraction power between the ions prevail in the crystal , and as a result , the dissolved substances disperse among water molecules . As shown in figure (2)

This invocation likens the sins and faults to dirt which water cleans , so how the process of cleaning with water happens ?
When stains and dirt cling to cloth , the attraction power between the cloth and dirt take place . water penetrates the stain and wet the cloth and because of the polar and the capillary quality of water ,it makes the dirt dissolve by isolating its ions from each other , so the inter-link power between the ions is weakened , especially if they are among the kinds that dissolve in water .
If stains are fats which don't dissolve in water , water breaks down in the form of balls that don't wet the surface of the texture because the adhesive forces between water and stains is less strong than that of the molecules of water . So it must be washed by water and soap . The soap solution lessen the surface tension of water , so the soap solution covers the fat stains and reacts with it forming fat emulsion and the attraction power between water and stain becomes stronger , so the dirt leaves the surface which has already been clung to, as shown in figure (3)

But the invocation has referred to another way of cleaning , it is by snow . So how can snow be a way of cleaning? As we know , when water freezes , it becomes snow at zero centigrade and the way in which the molecules connect with each other changes and became like benzene ring as shown in figure (4)
There are some dirt such as wax or gum that can't be removed with water or soap because the power of adherence between these stains and cloth is very strong . On putting snow over these stains , the frigidity makes the molecules of this substance come close to each other and contracted , so the power of adherence between them and the cloth decreases with the result that they are disconnected and moved away . ( we can do this experiment at home )
Hail is formed at subzero centigrade , so in case of irremovable stains , hail will make the molecules of these dirt contract much more than the case with snow .
This invocation likens the sins to dirt that should be washed with water , and that are irremovable with water , snow will remove it , and that are irremovable with snow , it can be removed with hail till no sin left .
In another Hadith , Narrated Abu Huraira , prophet Mohummed said "If there was a river at the door of anyone of you and he took a bath in it five times a day would you notice any dirt on him?" They said, "Not a trace of dirt would be left." The Prophet added, "That is the example of the five prayers with which Allah blots out (annuls) evil deeds." (Bokhary book)
And this is another evident that water is a means of washing dirt and sins . There are still a lot of Holy prophetic traditional sayings that talk about ablution and its importance of washing faults and sins . Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: Should I not suggest to you that by which Allah obliterates the sins and elevates the ranks (of a man). They (the hearers) said: Yes, Messenger of Allah. He said: Performing the ablution thoroughly despite odds, tranverside of more paces towards the mosque, and waiting for the next prayer after observing a prayer, and that is mindfulness. This Hadith shows that God annul sins with ablution water
Abu Huraira reported: Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: When a bondsman-a Muslim or a believer-washes his face (in course of ablution), every sin he contemplated with his eyes ,will be washed away from his face along with water, or with the last drop of water; when he washes his hands, every sin they wrought will be effaced from his hands with the water, or with the last drop of water; and when he washes his feet, every sin towards which his feet have walked will be washed away with the water or with the last drop of water with the result that he comes out pure from all sins
Uthman ibn Affan reported : The Messenger of Allah (May peace be upon him) said : He who perform ablution well, his sins will come out from his body, even coming out from under his nails.
Al-Shafy was characterized by physiognomy and clairvoyance to the extent that he used to see the sins fall down with every drop of the water of ablution . Glory and Praise Be to Allah , who taught this unlettered prophet this scientific fact .
We came to the great conclusion that water , snow and hail are physical cases of water that has great ability to remove the dirt and every case has s different mechanism in cleaning the dirt
I invoke God to wash all of us with water , snow and hail

The Secrets of Water in Quran
The Pure water, the Fresh water and the Saline water Written by: Eng. Abdul-Daim Kaheel In this article we will see that the Quran tackles the different types of waters and categorizes them according to there degree of purity. The Qur'an identifies the "distilled" water which is rainwater as the pure water, names the "fresh" water that we drink from rivers and wells the "sweet" water and names the sea water that holds a high percentage of saltiness as "bitter" water. It has been established scientifically the distinction between these kinds, and this what we will cover thoroughly in the coming sections. It's worthy to note the single drop of water contains five thousand million of water molecules!!! How many do the world seas include!!? The Qur'an speaks about Distilled Water Allah, all grandeur to Him says in His Glorious verses: (And it is He who sends the winds as good tidings before His mercy, and We send down from the sky pure water)The Criterion, 48. I have contemplated on this verse for a long while and discovered that it tackles precisely the specifications that scientists label now days as "Distilled Water". They have revealed that the water we drink contains many substances and organisms. The single cup of drinking water we think is pure, carries millions of minute organisms like bacteria and viruses, and contains mineral substances like iron, copper, aluminum, sodium, magnesium and calcium. In addition it also contains organic substances like carbon, dust and other substances, all included in what we call as "pure" water. Scientists have discovered that this water can be purified by heating it until the boiling point of 100 degrees Centigrade, then accumulating vapor, condensing it and then cooling it. As a result, you get distilled water that is pure to a great extent .Scientists say that the best kind of distilled water is rain water right before it descends to the ground and mixes with polluted particles in the air. The civilization of this age has generated many of the pollution; the falling of rainwater cleans the atmosphere because the rainwater that is distilled is distinguished by its characteristic for the absorption of substances. It absorbs from the atmosphere, sulfur and other substances and minerals such as poisonous lead subsequently the rainwater's essence is acidic .On the contrary, the past rainwater was pure because the atmosphere was not polluted. When the rain water descends to the group it filtrates through the soil and between the rocks and follows very complicated paths, and during this journey it mixes with some minerals and the salts found in the rocks. Consequently the rainwater to some extent takes an alkaline flavor. Due to this fact, we find the distilled water is unpalatable because of there is no flavor to it, where as, the taste of spring water is palatable
Figure ( 1 ): Scientists announce today that rainwater is distilled, this pure water due to its purged characteristics, is an excellent remover of dirt and can cleanse and sterilize any thing .And Allah proved it when He termed the descending water from the sky by the "pure" water and this on its own, is precisely and scientifically accurate. )And we send down from the sky pure wate). Characteristics of the Rain water Now lets reckon some of the characteristics associated with the water descending from the sky i.e.: rainwater .The rainwater is considered exactly as distilled water, resulting from the vaporization of the water from the seas and its condensation in the form of clouds then it descending as rain . Therefore it is thoroughly pure water. The rainwater can remove the dirt on the human skin more than the regular water, thus this water is considered a disinfectant used in medicine .It is free from the viruses and bacteria, also possessing the feature of the absorption of metals, gases and dust particles and any substance that comes into contact with it on a large scale, therefore it is an antiseptic to the atmosphere as well. After knowing these attributes we find that they meet accurately the single worded expression in the Qur'an about the rainwater, where Allah says: (And We send down from the sky pure water) The criterion, 48. The word "Tahara" (purified) in the language means the removal of dirt and impurities and the abstinence from it as stated in the dictionary. The Fresh (Sweet) Water There a new attribute associated with this water explained by the scientists and that it is capable of renewing the cells in the body on a larger scale rather than the common water. As for the energy scientists, they confirm that the rainwater possesses bigger quantities of energy, thus positively reflecting on the psychological state of the human. Figure (2): Allah (swt) has mentioned the name of the river water and that stored under the ground that we drink as "sweet" water i.e.: water with acceptable taste. While He named the sea water by "salty" water for the indication of its surplus of saltiness. He also named the rainwater as "pure" water and hence the Qur'an is the first book that provides accurate scientific classification. It is not strange that we find the Qur'an mentioning these characteristics clearly in the following verse: (]Remember] when He overwhelmed you with drowsiness [giving] security from Him and sent down upon you from the sky, rain by which to purify you and remove from you the evil [suggestions] of Satan and to make steadfast your hearts and plant firmly thereby your feet. ) Al-Anfal, 11. This verse specifically talks about rain water through the verse: (sent down upon you from the sky rain) and we previously embarked upon the cleansing feature in this water as Allah says: (Which to purify you). We also spoke about the presence of energy it possesses thus affecting the human in giving him the push and power for confirmation, needed when facing the enemy. By this we are talking about the positive energy when facing intricate situations (1) and this is indicated in the following verse: (and plant firmly thereby your feet). It is noticable that the Quran differentiates between the word "Tahur"/pure and "Furat"/sweet in its verses for Allah says: (and have given you to drink sweet water.) Al-Mursalat, 27. The water we drink from the rivers, springs and wells is acceptable and taste sweet because it contains quantity of the minerals like iron that causing the water to taste sweet. This definition suits the expression "Furatan"/sweet. The term "Furat"/sweet water in the language is the water with acceptable taste as described in the linguistic dictionaries .While the descending water from the sky is distilled water which possesses the characteristics of sterilization and cleansing and carries not taste! Therefore the Divine described it as "Tahura". So is there repetition in the Quran or is it a miracle? The water as it descends from the sky is pure but when it mixes with the minerals and salts present in the land and become "Furatan"/sweet. Even though, the Qur'an speaks about the river waters, we find it using the term "Furatan"/sweet and not "Tahuran"/pure. This is again due to the fact that the water of the sweet river contains many of the solved metals (minerals) in it, Exalted Allah says: (And not alike are the two bodies of water. One is fresh and sweet, palatable for drinking, and one is salty and bitter.) Fater,12. The Bitter Water The following verse made me contemplate: (And not alike are the two bodies of water. One is fresh and sweet, palatable for drinking, and one is salty and bitter.) Fater, 12. I wondered why Allah it associated each kind with two attributes, "Fresh and Sweet"-"Salty and Bitter". We know that river water is "fresh", why did Allah add another attribute "sweet"? Where as Sea water Allah described it as "Salty" but why did He assign to it another attribute "Bitter"? At the same time Allah assigned Rain water just one attribute "Pure"? Yes, this is because the rainwater as we saw earlier is pure, distilled and has neither taste nor smell, thus a single attribute suffices it.
Figure 3: The sea water is the "bitter" water. In the language the verb "Ujaj" means exceeded the limit, and this is what we find in sea water which maintains saltiness that exceeds the normal limit. Therefore Allah has described sea water as (Salty/Bitter) because the word (salty) is not enough as a description, but the fresh water does contain some salts but we don’t sense there presence!! The Miracle: The Quran uses the term "Tahuran"/Pure in association with water descending from the sky because it is pure water, and this is what scientists call "Distilled" water and considers it as a cleaning substance. Where as the word "Sweet" Allah does not associate it with sky water at all, but with the water that we drink. River water is not completely pure and contains some salts and minerals giving it a palatable taste. Further, if we ponder upon the Quranic description of Sea water we find the word "Ujaj"/Bitter which describes the excessive salt present in it. The Quran does not assign saltiness as an attribute on its own, it doesn’t say "This is salty" only, but on the contrary, it mentions "It is salty and bitter". From a scientific point of view if we say that the water contains salts then this is ludicrous because all water types contain salts with varying degrees, therefore it is a must to describe the degree of saltiness, and this precisely is what the Quran did. The Quran is the first book that handles the disinfecting characteristic of rain water or distilled water and this attribute is not mentioned except in association with sky water. Whereas the human writing does not differentiate between the fresh water , the sweet water and the pure water while the Quran accurately made a distinction and positioned each term in its accurate place. Glory is to Allah, every single word and letter in his Book fits flawlessly. The question we wish to forward to the skeptics in the field of scientific Quranic miracle is: If the Quran was a result of human formation, would it have been able to make the distinction between those words at that age?? Then we can denounce that the Quran spoke about those specifications before the physicists discovered it by long centuries. That is to say that the Quran is the first book that makes the distinction between the natures of the water and this is a material proof of the Divine origin of such a book. The Description of the Barrier Between Two Seas
| |
Oceanographers, in the wake of the scientific progress in this age, have discovered the barrier between two seas. They have found that a barrier separates two neighboring seas. The barrier moves between them, and it is called by scientists “a front” compared to the front between two armies. By virtue of this barrier each sea retains its own characteristics which Allah (SWT) has assigned to it and which are suitable for the organisms living in that environment. Because of this barrier, the two neighboring seas mingle so slowly that the amount of water that passes from one sea to the other acquires the characteristics of the other sea while crossing the barrier which overturns the waters crossing from one sea to the other, keeping each sea with its own characteristics. The gradual progress of human knowledge about the fact of the differences between seawater masses and the existence of barriers between them : Oceanographers discovered that there were certain differences between water samples taken from various seas in 1284 AH/1873 AD, by the British Marine Scientific Expedition of the Challenger Voyage. It was discovered that masses of sea water vary in their composition, in respect of salinity, water temperature, density and types of marine organisms. The data were obtained from 362 oceanographic stations. The report of the expedition filled 29,500 pages in 50 volumes and took 23 years to complete. One of the great achievements of scientific exploration, the expedition also showed how little man knew about the sea. After 1933 AD another American expedition set out in the Mexican Gulf and installed hundreds of sea stations to study the characteristics of seas. It found out that a large number of stations in a certain area gave similar information about the characteristics of the water in that area, whether in respect of salinity, density, temperature, marine organisms or solubility of oxygen in water, while another group of stations in another area gave a different set of data about that area. So, oceanographers concluded that there were two distinctive seas with different characteristics, and not just limited samples as the Expedition of Challenger showed. Man installed hundreds of marine stations to study the characteristics of various seas. Scientists have found out that the differences in these characteristics distinguished one sea from another. But why do these seas not mix and become homogeneous in spite of the effect of tide and ebb that moves sea water twice a day, and causes seas to move forward and backward turbulently, besides other factors that cause sea water to be in continuous movement and turbulence, such as surface and internal waves and sea currents? The answer appeared for the first time in scientific books in 1361 AH/1942 AD. Extensive studies of marine characteristics revealed that there are water barriers separating neighboring seas and maintaining the distinctive properties of each sea with respect to density, salinity, marine life, temperature and solubility of oxygen in water. There are large waves, strong currents, and tides in the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. Mediterranean Sea water enters the Atlantic by Gibraltar. But their temperature, salinity, and densities do not change, because of the barrier that separates them. After 1962 AD there was known the role of sea barriers in modifying the properties of the water masses that pass from one sea to another, to prevent one sea from overwhelming the other. So salty seas retain their own properties and boundaries by virtue of these barriers. A field study comparing the waters of Oman Gulf and those of the Arabian Gulf has shown the difference between them regarding their chemical properties, the prevalent vegetation and the barrier separating them. About a hundred years of research and study has been required to discover the fact of the existence of barriers between sea water masses and their role in making each sea retain its own properties. Hundred of researchers took part and numerous precise scientific instruments and equipment were used to achieve that. Fourteen centuries ago the Holy Qur’an revealed this fact. Allah (SWT) says: (He has let free (MARAJA) the two sees meeting together. Between them is a barrier that they do not transgress. Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (Jinn and men) deny? Out of them both come out pearls and carol.” (LV: 19-22) Allah (SWT) also says: “And He made a barrier between the two seas.) (XXVII: 61) Linguistic meanings and the commentators’ sayings: Maraja (let free): Ibn Faris said: “’maraja’: The consonants m, r and j form a root indicating a movement of going and coming and turbulence.” Al-Bahrayn (the two seas): Al-Asfahani said: “Some say that the word “bahr” (sea) is usually used to mean salt water rather than fresh water.” Ibn Manzursaid: “’Bahr’ is more frequently used to describe salt water than fresh water.” If the word “bahr” is used without qualification it means salt water; otherwise, it means the thing qualified.” The Holy Qur’an uses “nahr” (river) to indicate abundant running fresh water, while it uses “bahr” (sea) to indicate salt water. Allah (SWT) says: (And He has made the ships to be of service to you that they may sail through the sea by His Command; and He has made rivers (also) to be of service to you.)(XIV: 32) In the hadith, “bahr” (sea) is also used to mean salt water. Allah’s Messenger (Peace be upon him) was asked by a man who said: “O Allah’s Messenger! We travel by sea and carry with us a little fresh water. If we should use it for wudu (ablution) we would get thirsty. May we use seawater for wudu? Allah’ Messenger (Peace be upon him) said: “Its water is pure and its dead (animals) are lawful (to eat).” Al-Barzakh: It is the barrier. Most commentatorssuggest that it is invisible. Al-baghi: Ibn Manzur said: “’Al-Baghi’ means transgression, exceeding the limits.” Al-Jawhari and Al-Asfahani said the same. Al-Marjan: Ibn Al-Jawzi said: “Al-Qadi Abu Ya’li says that Al-Marjan is a kind of bar-like pearls. Al-Zajjajsaid: “Al-Marjan is white, very white.” Ibn Mas’ud said: “Al-Marjan is red beads.” Abu Hayyan said that to some people Al-Marjan is red stone. Al-Qurtubi said: “It is said that Al-Marjan is the big pearls. The same is also said by ‘Ali and Ibn ‘Abbas (May Allah bestow His Mercy on them both). The small pieces of Marjan are the small pearls. It is also reported on their authority the opposite: the big pieces are called pearls and the smaller are called Marjan. Al-Dahhak and Qatadah said the same.” Al-Alusi said: “If we take into consideration the connotation of brilliance and glitter which the Arabic word “pearls” carries, and the connotation of movement and mixing that the word “Marjan” carries, we can say that “pearls” is used for big pieces and “Marjan” for small ones.” Anyhow, Marjan is a kind of ornament that is found in various colors: white and red. It may be in big or small pieces. It is bar-like stone. In the Verse it is something other than pearls, for the conjunction “and” implies talking bout two different things. Marjan (carol), however, is found in salt seas only. The Verse shows us the minute secrets which oceanography has revealed only recently. They describe the meeting between salt seas. Following is the evidence to that: First: The Verse uses the word “bahrayn” (two seas) without any qualification. This means that salt seas are intended here. Second: The Verses in Surat Al-Rahman show that the two seas yield pearls and “Marjan”(carol). It has become evident that Marjan is found in salt seas only. This indicates that the Verse is referring to two salt seas. Allah (SWT) says: “Out of them both come out pearls and carol,” i.e. out of each of them. Who knew in the past that salt seas differ in many respects in spite of their apparent similarity to the observer? (They all taste salt, look blue, have waves, contain fish, etc.) How can they differ although they meet each other? We know that when two amounts of water are mixed in a container they get homogenous. How can seas remain differentiated even in the presence of the factors of mixing, such as the ebb and flow of the sea, currents and storms? The Verse mentions the meeting of two salt seas that differ from one another. If the two seas were similar to one another, they would be one sea. However, differentiating between them in the Qur’anic utterance implies the difference between them although they are both salt.
This Verse by itself implies the presence of so much mixing and merging between these seas as would deprive them of their distinctive properties. But Allah (SWT), the All-Knower, shows in the following Verse that “between them is a barrier which they do not transgress”, i.e. In spite of this state of merging and turbulence that characterizes the seas there is a barrier between them preventing them from transgressing or exceeding their limits. This is what man has discovered as a result of the advances achieved in his sciences and instruments. It has been found that a third water mass separates the two seas and it has such properties as are different from those of each of the two seas separated by it. Yet, in spite of the presence of the barrier, the waters of the two adjacent seas mix very slowly without one sea encroaching upon the other through carrying over its own properties to it, for the barrier zone is a region for changing the water crossing from one sea to the other so that it gradually acquires the properties of the sea that is going to enter and loses the properties of the sea it has come form. Thus neither of the two seas transgresses by carrying its own properties to the other, although they mix during the process of meeting. How truthful is Allah’s Saying: (He has let free (maraja) the two seas meeting together. Between them is a barrier which they do not transgress.) Most commentators suggest that the barrier that separates the two seas referred to here is an invisible barrier created by Allah. Some commentators find it difficult to reconcile the idea of the seas being merging and the presence of a barrier at the same time, for the presence of a barrier entails the prevention of merging. So the mention of merging (maraja) entails the absence of a barrier. This apparent contradiction has been resolved by discovering the secrets of the seas. The Miraculous Aspects of the Previous Verses: We can conclude the following from the discussion above: The Holy Qur’an, which was revealed more than 14 centuries ago, includes very precise pieces of information and knowledge about marine phenomena that have been discovered only recently by means of very sophisticated equipment. An instance in this respect is the existence of water barriers between seas. Allah (SWT) says: (He has let free (maraja) the two seas meeting together. Between them is a barrier which they do not transgress.) The historical development of Oceanography shows that no precise information had been available on seas before Challenger Expedition (in 1873 AD), let alone at the time when the Holy Qur’an was being revealed 14 centuries ago to an illiterate Prophet that lived in a desert environment and never traveled by sea. Oceanography has witnessed no advances except in the last two centuries, particularly in the latter half of the twentieth century. Prior to that a sea was considered as something fearful and mysterious. Myths and superstitions were fabricated about it. Sea voyagers were only interested in their own safety and how to find the correct routes during their long journeys. Man discovered that salt seas are different only in the thirties of the twentieth century, after thousands of marine stations had been established by researchers to analyze samples of sea water to measure the differences between the degrees of temperature, salinity, density and oxygen dissolubility in the sea water recorded at all those stations, and then realize that salt seas are different. Man did not know anything about the barrier that separates between salt seas till the establishment of the aforesaid stations, and after spending a long time tracing these wavy moving barriers that change their geographical locations with the change of seasons. Man did not know that the water masses of the two seas are separated by a water barrier and are mixed at the same time till he started studying with his ships and equipment the water movement in the meeting region of the seas and analyzing the water masses in those regions. Man did not apply this rule to all seas that meet together except after vast scientific surveying, investigation and verification of this phenomenon, which occurs between each pair of adjacent seas in the world. Now then, did Allah’s Messenger (Peace be upon him) own stations and equipment for analyzing water and the ability to trace the movement of various water masses? Did he carry out a comprehensive surveying process, although he never sailed the sea and lived at a time when superstitions were prevalent, particularly in the field of seas? Were, at the time of Allah’s Messenger (Peace be upon him) such researches, instruments and studies as are available for the oceanographers of today who have discovered all these secrets by means of research and study? This knowledge, which the Qur’an came with, included a precise description of the subtlest secrets at a time when humanity could never have known them, which indicates that its source is Divine, as Allah (SWT) says: (Say: “the (Qur’an) was sent down by Him Who knows the secret (that is) in the heavens and the earth: Verily He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.) (XXV: 6) It also indicates that the one to whom the Book was sent down was a Messenger inspired. Allah (SWT) but says the Truth in the Verse: (Soon will We show Our Signs in the Universe and in their own selves, until it becomes manifest to them that this the Truth. Is it not sufficient that your Lord does witness all things?) Reference : "ILM AL IMAN" by ABD ALMAJEED ALZENDANEE |
